ActionScript 3.0 :: How To Remove Transparent Part Of PNG

The background of the png images is transparent but is not actually transparent if I load the png with transparent background and add into a sprite. The transparent part also can receive the mouse event so I wanna know how can I remove these pixels?
I am creating a map in flash cs4 with all the countries on it. I used photoshop for creating the map and separated countries. Now I imported all pngs in Flash and I want to give Mouse CLICK event and Mouse Hover on all pngs, but as the transparent pixels are overlapping the other states, it is getting difficult. So, I converted all pngs in movieclips and now then I broke up pngs. Now I want to delete all pixels having alpha 0 using eraser tool, as per the borders. And I have to do it manually for individual countries. So is there a way to remove transparent pixels from the bitmap data?
I want to create a SimpleButton that has some PNG/GIF graphics as the down/up states. Part of the pixels are transparent and I don't want them to be clickable, is that doable?
I am trying to detect if a point on an image is on the opaque part of the image or the transparent part. I have a image in a 48X48 area. half the image has transparent pixels. I seem to detect a hit on every part of the image like a bounding box test but I don't want that. For example . I place a 48X48 size image on stage at 0,0. At point 40,20 on the stage the image has transparent pixels but I get it detects a hit? mm.img.hitTestPoint(40,20,true); //it should give me false
What I have is a bitmap as render cache for a sprite, and there're many of them present on the stage. I expected that they would react like sprites with mouse-click event, but they didn't. They're like rectangles all around, matter what the original sprite look like, And I tried put bitmap cache into sprite container and use sprite's hitArea property like [code]...
I am currently storing the items of this array as a variable. thats cool, but what I want to do is remove the b so I get 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 instead of b1 b2 b3 b4 etc.
I have a flash movie in which I've created something that functions similarly to a calculator. When the user clicks a button, depending which button was pressed and in which order, a series of movie clips is displayed from left to right in specific positions, using addChild. I have a button on the calculator which I would like to have function similarly to a 'clear' button on a real calculator. When clicked, it would remove only the movie clips that were displayed by clicking the calculator buttons. how I can remove only the movieclips that are part of the calculator display? Here are some

I've tried different variations of removeChild and removeChildAt, but either parts of the calculator are getting removed, or I remove the parts of the display one clip at a time instead of all together, or I get out of range errors. How do I target a certain range of movieclips to remove? Do I need to assign a specific range of levels when the new movieclips are added and then remove that range? It will be different number of clips and combination of clips every time.
I'm programming the engine of a Point and Click Adventure in AS3 atm. and now i have following problem. I want to load a png as foreground which is partially transparent. Behind this Image are my Game Elements which should react to the onClick event. But this won't work. the transparent parts of the image are, well, transparent, but when you click on the element the onclick event is only triggered on the foreground even if you click on the transparent parts. The Game Elements behind this transparent parts don't trigger the event. (When i remove the foreground the event is properly triggered on the game elements)
So is there a way to click "through" the transparent parts of the image?
i made two movies clip movie named (masK_mc) and the other named (over_mc) what i need to do i need when i start drag with (over_mc) and when i moved over the (mask_mc) i need the part of mask_m which moved over by (over_mc) removed and show the bacground of (mask_mc) i made the part of drag and over but i need to know how i can remove part of movie clib when i over by over_mc
Iv created an app in work which needs a rubber. I basicly have a tool to draw line (paint/pencil). This draws over the entire stage area, including over buttons and interactive mc's. Once i draw the line i then want to be able to erase bit of it.
To this end iv made an eraser tool, which works well. I turn the line into a bitmap, then turn the eraser line into a bitmap and use BlendMode.ERASE to erase one from the other. My problem is, because when creating the bitmatdata i have to create a rectangular shape, the area created then means that i cant access any of the buttons underneath.

The way i see it i need to remove the transparent pixels from delBitMap once the erase has been done.
So I have a BitmapData object that's 400x400, and is mostly transparent with a small area (up to 50x50) of color somewhere inside. That's drawn to a bitmap, and now I somehow need to generate a Sprite that is only the dimensions of the small colored area, and sits in the same place on the screen.The size and position of the colored area is variable, and the operation to create the new Sprite must be near-instantaneous, so no lengthy pixel comparison exercises.
I would like to find out, how can i make that only a selection is made a button, for example I have a picture (.PNG format) with a transparent background, and the image in the PNG is what i want to be a button, but when i convert the PNG to a button then even the transparent part becomes a button. how can I have only the pic as a button.
I imported a video into flash and have a transparent photoshop layer to create an iPod skin. The video works fine, but I cannot get the "stage" to be transparent so that you do not see the flash background color behind the iPod skin.

logically i think of it as taking apart the string into substrings
checking if there are fontWeight or fontStyle in the substring
if there is then appending the font name with the weight or style so so that the font name becomes font NameWeightStyle.then rebuilding the string.The font could be any font with variouse styles or weights..so far:

I have two png's that kind of look like paint brush strokes. they have some transparency in them that lets the stage colour bleed through a bit.
I am adding two of these images to the stage in AS 3. One adds quite fine - looks as expected. The second one however doesn't have any transparency other than around its edges. What i mean is it looks more like GIF than a PNG. Rough around the edges, no transparency "inside" the image itself (where there should be)
i have tried re-creating the image (yes it IS a PNG) which did nothing. I ensured the library item is not being treated as a JPEG. I also even tried externally calling the PNG to see if that made a difference. Unfortunately it did not.
why this second PNG doesn't seem to have a transparency set?
there are few comments i hear from other people. some say the axis of the carousel crooked and the icons are pixelated when they are scaled down. i m trying to add a transparent video of myself in the center but when i mask the carousel the embeded swf files also get the mask so i was wondering if there was a way to make the icons have alpha 0 when they are back all the way.. here s the link for the regular website [URL] and below is my actionscript
I'm making a game for children where they have to pay money by dragging it on a square. It al works wel only when i pick the first coin of one euro without going over the coin of 2 euro and then pick up a 2 euro coin the one euro disappears. after then it all works fine.i cant remove my duplicate euro's from the stage when i clic on pay here is my code for the euro's the euro's are in a emty movieclip
In flash AS3 Do I need remove childs, if I remove the parent itseft? If I remove childs first, then remove the parent object afterall OR If I just remove parent object Will flash take same memory?
Just wondered if I remove a parent movieclip and then set it to null, will it remove all the child movieclips within it from the Display list and also from memory, or do I need to iterate through the parent movieclip removing all its children before removing the parent?

I'm constructing a site, at least I'm trying :P I made a part with photoshop but now I'm continuing in iweb because I thought oh it's ease to insert a photo page, because that's the only reason.
