[URL]I'm designing my own photography site and am trying to produce something along the lines of contemporary photography websites (big images). The point being that I want the images/swf large enough to fill the ever growing trend for big monitors. This is where my problem begins - I want to have a slideshow of 5 images from each of the areas I cover.. simple enough sure. But, if I produce the slideshow within the main swf - the file size is something like 6 mb - which is jsut a bit too big and takes a bit too long to preload.
So I decided to make each image in the slideshow a seperate swf and import consecutively. The problem is that I need the external swf to trigger/import the next swf.I have had some success with importing to levels... but I need the swfs to import into a mc_holder because it needs to sit below my nav buttons and title.so I have this script to call in my slideshow to my holder.
"loadMovie("slideshow.swf" , "clipholder2");"
At the end of slideshow.swf is this "unloadMovie(this);" which unloads my movie. What I can't do is get slideshow.swf to import slideshow2.swf into my 'clipholder2'..
I've incountered a problem that I need help figuring out...I'm using dynamic buttons to load external swfs into an area within an interface on level0. There is an actionScript on a button that has been duplicated dynamically..The external swf is loaded into a host mc called "subpage_mc". The swf that should be loaded, is indicated within an array in the first frame of _level0.
Here's actionScript on button before dynamic duplication:_level0.loadMovie(link,"subpage_mc");
The script works, but it replaces the interfacce completely on leve0. I want the new swf to load into level0 and for the interface to be visible at all times, not to be replaced. Does this issue have to do with instance stacking order? How should I make sure that this doesn't happen?
I'm having a real bad time with Flash CS5, mostly by how it is exporting stuff and is unable to seemingly work with After Effects CS5, the other big program I use in my workspaceIt seems that anytime I include text into my Flash file in CS5, I am alerted that the text layout has been exported to an external file at which point it will not be imported correctly with any animation in After Effects I've read that this has something to do with the new CS5 TLF mode.
I have a problem with importing a galery(.swf) to my flash file that has imported pictures and text from a xml source..the gallery is in the same xml. The thing I cant understand is when I import a different file instead .. all works fine. Is there a limit of how complex a imported swf can be?
I made a music Player swf and it works properly by itself.I recently tried to load it into my main FLA for my website by using Import to Library, and then I dragged it from there into my canvas. For whatever reason, upon rendering it does not work at all, it shows up but none of the functions work and the music doesnt play. Also I tried doing it like this:
I made a preloader that would load the Swf and it actually worked and the functions were all there, however there were 2 problems.First problem was that I did not know how to control where it loaded so it was over my main text and not in the right area.Second problem, for whatever reason the preloader would re run and load the SWF again everytime a function went off (like clicking on one of the buttons or rolling over something that had a color tween) which resulted in it loading like a bunch of the same swf and being a problem.
I'm using Flex builder 3 for my main application (web-based), and I need to load multiple swf files built in flash cs4 (AS3) at different times. The flash swfs import assets from a separate flash swf used as a shared library. I'm using 1 swf loader in flex to keep 1 flash swf loaded at a time.Loading the first swf works fine, but loading subsequent swfs generates an error in importing from the shared library swf.
Here's an example of an error:
"ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable sharedApps is not defined."
I am importing a picture in flash and i found out that there is a difference between importing to the stage, and importing to the library... [URL] I've placed both picture close of each other and if you look closely, you'll notice that one of them is losing some resolution. Both picture come from the same file, a png. The picture imported to the stage is sharper than the one imported to the library. is there a way to import that picture to the library without losing any resolution?
I have a main fla file which loads an external swf into an empty movieclip on the main timeline which works fine but I want a button in the external swf to load another external swf into another empty movie clip on the main timeline.eg. start.swf loads UKEIAMap.swf into (empty movie clip within start.swf) MapLoader_mc then a button havant_b within UKEIAMap.swf needs to load HavantProjectSheet.swf into (empty movie clip within start.swf) ProjectSheetLoader_mc without unloading UKEIAMap.swf
I am loading eight external swfs by way of eight buttons with actionscript to remove the swfs and sound after a new button is clicked. This works fine except that as soon as you get to the frame where the actionscript is all the swfs load at one time on top of each other. I don't want any to load until the button is clicked for the right one. MouseEvent listener works but only after all the swfs have loaded. How do I get the swfs to load only when the buttons are clicked. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.
I am trying to find a way to preload swfs while other swfs are playing, i've found several scripts and tutorials, but none of them seem to work for my needs.
Flash - 8 : Above is an example of what I would like to do/have done. I've gotten as far as loading the "loaded.swf" into the "start.swf" but my problem is I'd love to use that little loading action I made earlier without copying and pasting into the new movie the same actions for a different link. So, how do I load "loaded2.swf" into "loaded.swf" via the link in "loaded.swf"?
[URL]regarding this tutorial I started my site [URL] to get some trasition effects but im getting somewhat different since the external SWFs take time to load. isn't it better to create "intro and outro" on the same time line instead of loading external SWFs bcos once the movie loaded as a whole will lead to smooth and contineous transitions.
I recently created a site using the "Transitions between External SWFs" tutorial for Flash MX 2004. I use this to load the sections of my site into the main movie file. Each section is an External SWF file. When a viewer clicks on a navigation button, the specific external swf move will load and play. Currently, a viewer would need to click on another navigation option to close the current external swf file. I would like to add a close button to each of the external swfs so that a view has the option to close the window without clicking on a naviagtion link.
I am loading multiple .swfs into multiple .swfs, but the .swf are never being properly unloaded. I thought they were unloading until I started monitoring my Page File Usage and seeing it increase everytime I loaded another external swf.
In using this function to load my content, what would be the proper way/function to unload the content?
I spent the day making a really neat (my opinion only) animated button that I want to use as a common component on a web site I am working on. The button is isolated in its own FLA and SWF file(s). The plan was to import the common button, add a text label, and position it appropriately on the page. Then move on to the next button or whatever. That's the plan; now here's the problem: I'm completely at a loss as to how to go about doing it. I've tried to follow a couple of tutorials, but, I keep getting lost.
I've always been able to import dwg/dwx files into Illustrator, edit out layers I dont need, export to swf, and import into Flash MX. I just got some new CAD files that wont open in Illustrator and am kinda stuck without a solution. Purchasing new software is no big deal I just want to be sure that it will open these new files and be able to export to Flash in a usable format.
Is it possible to import a swf file into a Flash file with a transparent background so you can still see the main movie underneath? Also, I would only want the swf file to play on a certian number of frames. By the way I have the original flash file of the swf I want to import.
I work in Adobe Flash cs3 and as2. First I have flv file no1 it contains buttons, animations, imported sounds and fonts, lot of layers, preloader and its all mixed on stage (its a kind of meny for a web page). Now Im working on flv no2 in which all the elements contained in flv no1 are represented as a small picture (button) which should call (make it visable like zooming that object) some mc that contains all the elements from flv no1 and working as they do in flv no1. how to pack all the elements in flv no1 in a form of movie clip and import it to flv no2 and preserve all the functionality.
I've masked out the backgrounds around some photos (of people) in Photoshop, and I'm importing them into Flash CS3 (Mac). When I import them in, they appear to have a color shift...they look lighter, more washed out than they did in Photoshop. My color space in Photoshop is sRGB, and I've tried importing the images as PSD and as PNG files, but no difference.
I have been searching on this and from what I have read in some posts I found through google it seems that it is possible to import an .mp4 file to flash.... I am unable to do this so far and wondering if it is in fact possible to do this.. if so, does anyone know of any decent .avi to .mp4 conversion software that will allow the mp4 to be imported to flash as the ones I have tried so far are not allowing the mp4 to be imported.
I'm importing a swf file with on/off buttons into Captivate, and the sound is not playing. I'm not sure if this is a Flash issue or a Captivate issue. I have posted this same question on the Captivate forum and have not received a response. The swf file seems to be playing fine, however, when I import it into Captivate the sound will not play anymore.
I have been given some .SWFs to use in a flash project of mines. I remember being able to import this as movieclip with the animation staying intact. I'm using Flash CS3 and in trying to import the .swf the animation seems to have been stripped. How can you import a .swf into your FLA projects?
I'm creating two separate AIR projects.I'd like them both to be able to access the same XML file that's residing in the user's document's folder. Before, I''ve successfully set up importing XML using URLLoader etc, but this method won't work when trying to access an XML from outside of an air project (I think). So is it possible to imporrt an XML file using something like:[code]
I have a .flv file which I would like to import into my stage. I use the import video option, select the file location, select progressive download from webserver and select the skin. However when I export my swf, the video doesn't appear. I have been successful in the past doing this but for some reason it doesn't appear. I have looked at the publish settings and compared files and everything seems to be ok.
how can i import a AS2 SWF (contact form) into a AS3 .fla project? Whenever i try to import, i get a bunch of grouped bitmaps on stage,.. When i publish to preview, there is no motion, no nada, as there is no code as only bitmaps are imported.. It shouldnt be to hard?
love the way CS4 has a nice media converter so you can instanly import FLV files but what I have recently found is that the voice of my videos all go out of sync when inputted into flash but are fine if I play then direct from my hard drive. If I import the file in CS3 and convert them directly in CS3 then the voices are all fine. Because i'm using many transparent .png images I have to use CS4 because CS3 adds a nice jagged edge when these are rotated.
