I have a template that I want to modify. I want to add two subpages to a products page, and I don't know how to do it. The site is: [URL]. I tried with simple goto but it generates errors. I think of loading a swf when you click on the sub-buttons but that doesnt work too.

View 4 Repliesi need to change the animated logo's color in the left from green to blue.I have never done anything in flash before, this is the first time i've used the program, but so far i was able to figure out how to change the navigation and bar color and the text. but i can't seem to see where the color of this logo is coming from....
In screentshot 1 you can see that the Logo_Anim is made up of the Logo_1 - Logo_5 movie clips.Each of the logo_# clips is a piece of the logo.I'm not sure if something in the Logo_Anim is controlling the change in color of each piece of the logo, but it doesn't seem like the indiviual logo_#'s have any kind of setting..
I downloaded a flash template for a website and it includes a looping .wav soundclip that starts automatically when the page is loaded. There is an ON/OFF button that stops it, then starts it again.What I want to do is change the soundclip to a soundclip of my own. The instructions that came with the template say that to change the music, all I need to do is change the sound_Bar movie clip.
When I double click the sound_Bar movie clip, and select the "music" layer in the timeline, in the properties tab I see the following options:
Name: OLDclip.wav
Effect: -- (blank)
Sync: -- (blank)
Loop
I've imported my custom sound to the library, but when I select it, the values change to this:
Name: NEWclip.wav
Effect: -- (blank)
Sync: Event (<-- I can't change this back to being blank)
Loop
Anyways, what happens when I change the clip is that when I click the OFF button, the sound does not stop. Then if I click the button again to turn it ON, it starts the clip again, but overtop of the one that's already playing.Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix it? I don't really know too much about flash, that's why I bought the template pre-made...so far I've been able to edit everything else, and the music seems to be the last step but is giving me the most problems.
I had published the Flash project which resulted in the creation of a HTML file. I previewed what the web page would look like by opening the HTML file in a browser. The first obvious issue was that the page was not centered, but left-justified. I think that I know how to satisfy that issue by reading the HTML file into Dreamweaver and adding a <center> tag just below the <body> tag. The issue that I cannot figure out is that my page is a bit smaller than my monitor size, so there is naturally the white "fill" areas to the margins. Is there a way to change this color to black? Is that the bgcolor variable that is in the <body> tag?
View 1 RepliesI had someone create a template site for me that is pretty simple - a single swf that pulls resources from a directory of xml files and assets. In theory, I should be able to update the xml for my site and provide new assets. I know some code and within the xml there are some <font> tags that over ride the swf's formatting or provide and href.
My problem is that I now have to update our logo, which is hard coded into the source .fla file, which I know how to get in and swap out (the guy who did the work is not available). My problem is, when I publish, the new swf with the new logo does not want to read the <font> tags anymore. I have tried everything and I can't crack this. I've narrowed it down to two possibilities:
1. Something in the Publish settings, though I've tried every conceivable variation to no avail.
2. Something in the .as file that defines page template.
I know I need to provide more info but this is a start. I'm working on a Mac (as was the coder) and we were both using CS4.
I am looking for a base to work on a presentation. I am using flash cs4. I know little of actionscript only so i just wondered if there are any template where i can just manage my content to make the presentation instead of coding from scratch. Is there any good site for downloading free flash presentation template?

Everything is fine on the flash movie until I actually get to the gallery section and the template resizes the entire page!
I want to build function on my site where I click on the link, and a new page (background opacity maybe at like 50%) - which consists of a video in the center and a link or two - floats on top of the already existing html page. I've seen this done a few times and I think it's a really cool function.
View 1 RepliesI am making a website for a client in which I need to incorporate some way of allowing easy client editting.Having looked online I havent found anything that will fit the requirements exactly but have seen the functionality on other sites in the past. Ideally I would use a secure web page with a form where the client could select the item to edit using a drop down and then proceed to fill in a few boxes, saving the new content that would be then viewable in the flash file.
I origianlly thought of an html form that stores the saved info in an XML file that could then be drawn out in the flash site.Is that the best way?
If you make multiple flash files from the same template and then edit that template, will all those files have those same changes? If not, is there a way to make the same change on multiple files at once? Basically the same idea as linking HTML files to a single CSS file...

The folder is not there. I thought that would probably be the problem. Manual installer uninstalling and all kinds of installing have been tried.
I like to move the four pages according to the name of the top menu items with certain intervals. ( The pages are just images) and like it to use xml to load. When the home page loaded the menu "home" will change its color to red and when the second image is in the frame the second menu item will be red.

Making a photo slideshow to load as an external movie clip on my site when a button is pushed. Here is a link to the .swf file: [URL]. There is text that describes each set of 6 pictures. After the set of 6 pictures plays through the text is supposed to disappear and a new text appears to label the next set of 6 pictures. Problem is: the text doesn't disappear! I made all the text layers a symbol/movie clip. I animated each text to disappear at a certain point in the timeline but when I test the movie the texts just remain there and build up one after the other. When watching the movieclip, pay attention to the text in the lower left screen.

I've got more than enough Flash and ActionScript (and XML) knowledge to pull it off nicely, but I was wondering if people who have already done this have any advice for me in terms of organizing the whole thing, so it's easy to upgrade and follow through during the time you build it. I was thinking a standard layout, maybe an intro and a first preloader, then a menu that choses sub-sections and each has an intro and outro transition? Oh, and for seperate sub-sections, do you put the preloaders in the main movie or do you include the preloaders seperately in each of the subsection swfs?

Go into project explorer and can't see much AS so how the hwll are they getting the images and text into the flash swf. By the html??? I don't think so.
I'm looking to create a popup which opens a "template" html page with an image placeholder. This way you should be able to send a variable from the swf and open up the same html page each time but the image would change as you change the variable from the flash button.
Basically I have flash page containing various thumbnails and when clicked, each one will open a larger version, but I dont want to make a html page for each one so rather 'send' the filename to the html page if this is possible?

how do transitions from page to page and from frame to frame all in on site, and i'm lost in the codes this is an exemple that i did in attachment, i want to be able to click in the different buttons bur a lot of thinks do not work. In the portfolio section i create a move clip that works well alone, bur when i integrate it with the home intro it didn't work properly. Hope that someone will be able to help me on that one, cause i think that this will help me a lot to understnad the basic transitions with buttons (frame to frame and page to page).

How do I get the mouse to not react when over the open section, I've tried 'delete mc3.onRelease;' which works, but then that section will not longer work at all after it's been closed.

View 5 RepliesI'm working on building a personal portfolio site right now. I wanted to add a scroll feature to one the pages. I wasn't sure how to build it, so I down loaded one off here [URL] and just plugged my own graphics into it. It scrolls up and down just fine, but when I try to put a mask over it, it doesn't work. In the content the author wrote for his movie he says "Note: If you want to have a mask over the content: copy MC:frame and make it a mask for MC:Page. If you do so, notice that "non-anti-alias text" is not possible anymore. This is a common thing in a Flash Movie. I keep trying that and it just blocks everything out all together. So what am I doing wrong?
