Check out the black iris transitions from 30seconds onwards, that is exactly the kind of thing I am looking for (not smooth, blocky and pixelled like those are). how to implement that as a flex transition between two states?
I am not new to flash. I am making an image transition animation. But when i move an image from one point to another point that in x or y position it gets shaky and image animation is not smooth at all. I am just trapped that what do? i have tried the image in different qualities and resolutions but dont know how to do it.
I am attaching the shaky.zip file. Im using motion tween to animate the image.
I need to make a custom event listener (if that's what they are called) so an event listener can pass arguments. I found something on the internet that worked, but it was using regular events and I needed to use mouse events. So I changed some of the code around and it resulted in me producing something that didn't work. Despite this, it didn't return an errors. I am trying to build a preloader class for loading external content (images in a gallery). I have no experience in this area and I could not find many examples of making preloader classes. I was wondering if and how would it be possible to trace bytesLoaded and bytesTotal from within the preloader custom class. I was trying to pass the Loader's variable into the class and then try to trace the bytes but no luck with that.
I am making a custom cursor flash. In each frame there is a different crusor. I got the code that make the real cursor dissapear and my custom one follow the mouse. Im try to create some code that knows when I click and geos to the next frame and stop there so the custom cursor can be viewed.
making custom checkboxes/radio buttons. I have created one of each on the stage. The goal is to create each in a movie clip so that I can use them in various programs. As I am using these flash programs in an interface down the road, I have found myself to have trouble with the prebuild flash components. I would like to build my own. I would also like them to be able to only have one clicked at a time.
quick note: I have the buttons both changing their stages in movieclips. Frame 1 is the upstate and frame 2 is the down state.
I have an object called MenuButton that extends MoveClip.I want to arrange 8 MenuButton objects in a cirle. The easiest way to do this would be to use a for loop and an array of MenuButton objects.The problem is, I'm not exactly sure how to make an array of objects. I've seen some code online, appears to be AS2 and I need 3. It's also not very clear if it does what I need it to.It would also be cool if I was able to name the buttons sequentially, i.e.: button1, button2, etc. I've seen AS2 code for that, but again it's not too clear if that'll work the same in AS3 and if the code I've seen will do what I need it to.
I'm making a custom iphone dialpad in flash.When the user press a button on the dialpad I want to update my textfield and keep the other numbers in the textfield?

i have a flex app that transitions between 2 states with the toggle of a button. my issue is that the effect of fading only seems to work on the 2nd transition and after. However, for my first transition... going from State1 to studyState... there is no fade effect whatsoever, in fact the components in state1 disappear completely (the footer fills the empty gap where the "body" use to be) and then the flex recreates the studyState (without any fade refilling the "body" with components only in studyState). After this first transition however, going between studyState and State1 working COMPLETELY fine.. why does this happen and how can i make it so that crossfade works STARTING FROM THE VERY FIRST TRANSITION?[code]
I have a presentation using the "presentation" template that comes with flash. I am trying to transition slides with the behavior slide transition options. but I've learned that it works find while going into a slide and doesn't go to the next slide when leaving.So basically I want it so that on right arrow first play out transition then go to next slide.
get a bunch of objects in my library to inherit from (or even be) one class that i have made, but without having to make .as files for every single one is this possible, or is there any other way to give objects another classes functionality in an auto-generated class?
I am trying to create a page transition that will play a movieCLip transition into a page. and then it stops then when another button is pressed, it will play that transition out while loading the appropriate one. In the attached FLA, if you click on the red button first, the blue transition plays,
it works correctly/ Playing out of the blue Transition and into the Red transition. However if I click it again it does the opposite, and just keep alternating.
If I add the
_root.transitionClip2.play("out");
to the first button then, nothing works right. I will eventually have more buttons, and may need to use a variable to control which "out" transitions is played, but how do I get the buttons to do this?I just want it to exit the current movie clip and play the "in" section of the desired clip.
i have looked everywhere for a tutorial on this - i have tried writing, and re-writing codes....i just cant get it. is there any tutorial i overlooked? here is what im looking to do - NO SHORTCUTS: have my main file that loads the buttons, my external swf container, my intro animations, and my swf "out" and "in" animations when a button is clicked i want it to point me to specific frame labels. i will have an "out" and "in" frame label and which will be the locations of the transitional starting points i want it to play the "out" transition, than unload the current swf, than play the in transition, than load the swf of the button that was clicked i want the animations to all be done using frame labels all within the MAIN swf file.... i have had no luck doing this....and i do NOT like the tween class....
For a project, I'm making an interactive side scroller.You move the character with the arrow keys and press the space bar to interact with things.So far, I followed DexNote's tutorial on YouTube.I thought that I would make the interactable objects as buttons, while the mouse focus would be on the character and when you press the space bar it make a mouse click in that area.The trouble I'm having now is that I don't know how to make the space bar trigger the "interactions."

The difference here are two things, the earlier error is while converting flash event to custom event and now this one is while converting custom event to flash event and secondly, I have no clue why it is trying to convert to the mouseevent where I am just dispatching my custom event with proper listeners.
I want to generate large text files, basically 4 columns, several thousand rows, of numbers. Making an array with all this info in it occurs farily quickly, it's getting it to a displayable format that takes a really long time. Right now I use something like this:

But I never see the "game clicked: " trace. Does anybody please know why? I'm probably missing something minor, because I can see the "Clicked: 8946" trace.

I have created custom TreeItemRenderer in which i am trying to draw colored Hbox bar at each node except root. Intially when i click on root node it opens first child node with bar but when i open leaf node it does not showing bar and removing existing bard from other few child nodes.
