View 3 RepliesI have some AS3 code that does two things. Only I want the 2 things to happen 10 seconds apart. The lines of code look like:
var myTween:Tween = new Tween(yellow, "x", Bounce.easeOut, startValue, finishValue, duration, true);
var myTweenBlue:Tween = new Tween(blue, "x", Bounce.easeOut, startValue, finishValue, duration, true);
Right now, they happen at the same time, but I would like them to happen a few seconds apart. I have seen where I can pause the timeline, but in this case, the timeline is already stopped. these actions are triggered by clicking on a button. So Im not sure how to make it so the two actions happen a few seconds apart.
This script pauses 5 secs the timeline.. if I put that on a frame in main timeline works ok... // Set the following two values for how long you want to // loop, and how many frames to loop:
[Code]....
However I need to pause a swf loaded into level1 when a button is pressed... I couldn't customize it to make it work... I thought that changing the gotoAndPlay for level1.gotoAndPlay would be enough but it is not.

View 1 RepliesI am new to Flash and am still trying to come to grips with AS3. I want to pause an animation twice in the same timeline. I have applied the code given in the adobe article 'Using ActionScript to pause and loop the timeline in Flash' [URL].
this.stop();
var timelinePause:Timer = new Timer(2000, 1);
timelinePause.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, timerHandler);
timelinePause.start();function timerHandler(evt:Object):void {
this.play();
}
This works well when used once in the timeline but I get the following errors when applying it twice
1151: A conflict exists with definition timelinePause in namespace internal.
1021: Duplicate function definition.
Warning: 3596: Duplicate variable definition.
What I need to change to make it work twice.
I don't use Flash that much so the question may sound simple, but how do I pause audio in a timeline? I have added the audio, play and stop button. When I test it works fine, but I can't figure out how to add the pause button, or the play/pause button.
View 2 RepliesI tried to get this right but it just won't work for me. It's probably something very simple. I have a video in a movieclip on my timeline. On the first frame, I have the stop(); command. I want to be able to hit the SPACEBAR: which results in pausing the movieclip and jumping to frame 2 on the timeline.

View 4 Replieshow to add a pause using Flash Slide presentation?
If you add a 'Stop' anywhere on in the action script when using the arrow to go back and forward through slides it goes to the stops rather than the beginning of each slide.
I am very much new to AS3 and Flash and had a problem trying to get my Flash timeline to pause at a specific point if the mouse was over any part of the stage. If the mouse was not or no longer over the stage I wanted the timeline to continue playing where it had left off.
I managed to solve the problem after a few hours and would like to share my first piece of AS3 - it might help someone else who has a similar problem, or you might be able to improve it.
One of may main objectives was to make sure the code cleaned up after itself and left no listeners or timers running.

View 1 RepliesHow can i pause my timeline for a few seconds.
Any easy way to doing this. Any ready to use script?
how to pause the timeline for a few seconds? Instead of me just putting in a load of blank frames.
View 9 RepliesI want to stop my timeline for few seconds, how I can ???
I try with setInterval, but i think i do mistake somewhere,
I have a timeline composed of 10 layers, having got keyframes and tweens etc all positioned, I need to make part of it e.g. 5 secs longer. How is this done, I can highlight one column of frames and right click and choose insert frame but doing that for 120 times (5 x 24fps) is going to take too long. I hoped to see in right click an option for add frames with a duration or number of frames entry window.I saw something on the internet that said select a width of frames and hit F6 but for me that launches a screen capture prog and I cant see where in that prog F6 is nominated for that capture.
View 3 RepliesI want to stall the timeline in an MC for 5 seconds.
Code:
now=getTimer();
if (now > 5000) {
play();
} else {
gotoAndPlay(_currentframe - 1);
}
delay the timeline for lets say 10 seconds when it enters a frame?
View 9 Repliesi'm looking for a script that tells the timeline to start to play frame 25, after 5 seconds.i've found a few codes online but cos they are for different purposes, i just cant seem to custom it to work accordingly.

View 5 RepliesI'm getting a data which contains a certain number.
I need to find how many hours, minutes and seconds it stands for.
for example:
I'm getting the number 248 which means:
00 hours : 04 minutes : 08 seconds
When i use time varaible and then minus the time. Ive noticed that flash does not count down in seconds, but the speed of light. My maths are not very strong so how can i get flash to count in seconds
var time =60;
sprite.onEnterframe = function(){
time -=1; ( this counts faster than seconds)
}
I'm trying to figure out how I can make the sound file that I load into Flash start at x seconds and end at x+30 seconds.So basically, I just want a 30 second sample to play starting at a specific time position. Does anyone have any advice on how to do this or have links to somewhere I can read up on it?
View 4 RepliesI'm working with the youtube API and I'm getting the current time on the video as seconds.What I want to do is to convert them into this: MM:SS.I've tried to google and try different things by myself but nothing seemed to work and be efficient.
View 4 RepliesI am currently using the following code to display the secconds of a FLV being played:
ActionScript Code:time_txt.text = Math.round(_root.video_mc.videoZ.playheadTime*100)/100;I need to change this to display MM:SS (minutes:seconds) rather than just seconds and decimals.The javascript people here at work suggested something like this:
ActionScript Code:
function strPad(str, places, pad, side) {
while (length(str) < places) {

I have a video player and trying to make a time indicator of minute and seconds.
View 3 Replies1) I want a 60 seconds video to start playing after 40 seconds have been downloaded - to do that I set the NetStream.bufferTime to 40 seconds and retrieve "NetStream.Buffer.Full" event causing the video to really start playing. This step is OK.
2) However, the "NetStream.Buffer.Full" causes data to stop downloading. So the remainder of the video begins to download no sooner than after the 40 seconds have been played. This step is my issue. Can anyone tell me how to avoid this unintended effect? (i.e. playing a video and downloading data at the same time?)
I have created a simple interactive tutorial with buttons that open specific scenes (sections) in the tutorial using gotoAndPlay(). These scenes are initially "duplicates" of each other, except for some of the objects in the scene. Everything was doing ok but when I reached my 12th scene, things became messed up. Initially, when I added this last scene (say, SCENE2, with the same contents as the one copied from SCENE1) and published it, the SWF was behaving correctly. But when I just extended the timeframe to accomodate a longer audio, this scene keeps on pausing on the last frame for some reason. I'm assuming that if there are no animations and just audio playing, it would still not pause. I copied another scene, say SCENE3, also from SCENE1, that would play after SCENE 2. When I click on the button to play SCENE3, it just goes to the last frame of SCENE2 and does not play, eventhough the script for that button is just gotoAndPlay("SCENE3",1).
View 1 RepliesI have an external .flv and I simply need to be able to pause it with a frame action and start it back up with another frame action.I found some references to "flvStream.play" through google but I haven't been able to properly implement it.
