ActionScript 3.0 :: Preloader -if 40% Of The SWF Has Been Loaded, Then The Animation Should Have Played Upto Frame 40?

I've got an animation in a MC which I want to play out as a preloader.For example, it has 100 frames, and I want the animation to play upto the percentage which has been loaded. So, if 40% of the SWF has been loaded, then the animation should have played upto frame 40.

Professional :: Preloader In Flash - Animation Freezes After First Frame

I am facing a very peculiar problem while creating a preloader in flash. I have created a flash image gallery entirely in flash as requested. And a preloader. Now when I test my movie in local machine using simulate download feature the preloader works just fine. However when I upload it on the server the first frame of the preloader can be seen and it freezes there nothing happens though after some time the movie loads and rest of the animation then plays fine. I have checked my code it doesn't give any error on compiling. The flash SWF is being inserted in a Joomla driven website. However, that will not be a cause of problem I guess as an old preloader seems to run fine. I am using Flash CS5 Demo. I also tried saving file in CS4 and then publishing it. Still no luck.

I am needing to create a preloader that advances a 10 frame animation every 10% loaded. So there will be a percentage indicator (dynamic text) and a short animation as the load bar (10 frames). The animation is of tape winding into a tape measure, and when it's fully inside the loading is complete and timeline moves onto next frame. I have been able to do this with AS2, using a combination of (stop) and (play) commands whenever the next 10% was loaded.

I am trying to build a preloader that goes to whatever frame of a mc that the movie is loaded (well...that makes no sense). Lets say, the movie is 50% loaded, then the mc will goto and stop on frame 50.

Code:

bytes_total = Math.round(_root.getBytesTotal());
if (bytes_loaded == bytes_total) {
mc.gotoAndStop(50);

make it play if the 'loaded' is only half of the 'total'...

I am trying to make a preloaded that stops on frames depending on how much is loaded, I want it to stay on frame 1 if 24% or less of the movies is loaded and for every 25% I want it to it to move forward a frame, So far I have done thus,

I have 2 frames in an "enemy" movieclip, and frame 1 contains a movieclip with an idle animation, and frame 2 contains a movieclip with a throwing animation. I want it to play the throwing animation, and then go back to the idle animation. But all things I tried always make it loop. I tried around with if currentframes = totalframes and gotoAndStop etc but it doesn't want to work. I have my code in an actionscriptfile, however I also tried putting code on frames and it doesn't work.

I have two swf's. One "show" of some sort, and one "menu" that acts as a loader for "shows". The "show" swf can run in its own respect, or by being loaded via the "menu".

Is there a way to determine, if the "show" is run stand-alone or as loaded into the "menu"?

One solution is to have the "menu's" Loader object set a variable on the loaded "show", like myLoader.content.thisIsFromMenu = true; and then checking in the "show", if such a variable exists and is true. BUT I was wondering, if there is any more generic way, that would not require for the "show" to know anything about the "menu" to determine, if it is loaded into a swf or played by itself?

I have this custom video player I'm making. I need some way to react when the externally played flv file reaches a certain point in the movie without embedding some extra data on the flv file. I am looking for this because I want to react at the 90%-99% point of the movie because I didn't like the behavior I'm getting when I react when the stream completes playing (I want a bit earlier). How do I achieve this?

so I have some buttons that, as of right now, simply trigger the scene to move on while at the same time killing some particle effect animations I have spawning when the animation is idle. What I now need to do is make these events move on to a specific scene AFTER the rest of the scene's animation has played out (about 400 more frames) I'm figuring that the gotoAndPlay command has to be tied to some sort of timer variable that I would have to figure out based on my fps. Or maybe there is a way to set up a timer directly tied to a certain amount of frames allowed to go by. I'm pretty noob at actionscript, so keep that in mind. i have my main timeline with all the code on the first layer all is good there. But then inside a movie clip that is inside another that plays an animation i have some more code to load an external swf.

the code works fine i have tested it but it does not seem to want to work when its put in the timeline inside a movieclip.

I know i can put it on the first main stage layer with all my code and it will work but i want it only to work after i click a button and that button has played its animation.

at first, I thought I could manage this myself searching the forums about "preloader" but none of the solutions seem to work. I think it has to do with the fact that I'm using the FLVPlayer with an external file. What am I looking for?

1. Well, the preload code for frame 1 that makes sure the external F4V (movie.f4v in the same dir) is loaded 100% before it jumps to frame 2 where the movie should start playing...

I suppose the title says it all.  I can load an external video file (FLV) and I can have it play.  I also have the custom buttons made to control the clip.  The only thing I have left to do is to have the main timeline move onto frame 2 once the external video reaches its end.  I am using actionscript 3 and flash cs 5.5.

I have been having a serious issue with custom video where flash is saying that the amount of the video so far played is MORE than the amount that it has downloaded, which is clearly impossible.
