I am dynamically creating a movieclip, say, a ball. I want to apply a movement to each new ball created. I have created a movement function and now I need to know how to use this function as a method on each newly created ball. Would I do something like this:
this is the error Iam getting and my code below, I keep getting an error and can't understand why could someone with a bit more experience 'm at my wits end-TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert flash.events::Event@2edef11 to flash.events.KeyboardEvent.
var upArrow:Boolean = false; var downArrow:Boolean = false; var rightArrow:Boolean = false;
i wanna ask how do i make a ball bounce off something like a ball bouncing off a bumper in a pinball game? i've tried a lot of times but everytime the ball get stucked to the box and it doesn't move anymore...will be grateful if anyone noes the actionscript of it..
ball collision inside another ball using gravity.I have one large circle in the middle of the stage (its radius is 150 pixels). I have another circle inside of that one (20 pixels radius), this is the smaller ball that I would like to have bounce around inside of the larger one with gravity. When the small ball hits the edge of the larger circle, I would like it bounce inwards to the center of the larger circle. It keeps doing this until it eventually stops in the center of the larger circle at the bottom.
I am using SWFLoader to load a little animation into my flex environment but for some reason the animation is sped up a lot. This is the case with all of the animations I tried. Is there a way to slow it down or fix this?
I programmed a simple (or so I thought!) website entirely in flash, using a looping movie for the background. I have the entire website programmed in one scene, with actionscript telling the movie-clip-button avigation to "gotoAndPlay" the name of each section. I tested the entire time I was programming, and everything was looking great. However... when I uploaded the file and test it live, my movie clip background has gone haywire! When I navigate now between the sections, the movie clip speeds up. I have done some troubleshooting, but to no avail.
What would be best practice for speeding up an animation? - Increase the frame rate, or is that considered cheating (already set to 25)? The alternative would be to manually adjust the length of the tweens on each layer.
i'm working on a drawing tool with the flash drawing methods, but my movie starts to slow down. i'm storing the variables in an xml object and then looping through them onEnterFrame. right now i'm limiting the amount of lines that are drawn to 50. anyone have any tips on speeding up the drawing methods. as i understand it they are the same methods that flash uses to draw all it's lines. shouldn't it be able to render more than 50lines at a time.
I'm trying to load sound dynamically into a clip and then play it randomly. The AS I came up with works great if the sound is embedded and I use the .attachSound() method instead of loadSound(). Now, when I load it dynamically and use the code below, the sound plays very fast and at a higher pitch.
Code: var crows = new Sound(this); crows.loadSound("Raven.mp3", false); crows.setVolume(100);
I've been playing with carousel code, and was wondering how to change it from circular animation (carousel) to left/right linear (conveyer belt) style animation, how to change the mover code and 't.angle = i * ((Math.PI*2)/numOfItems);'
I have a mc (fStrip) which looks like a piece of filmstrip with thumbnail images in it. I want this mc to move when the users mouse is positioned over it, but I only want it to move only along it's x-axis and in a direction opposite that of the mouse. And I want it to move or flow smoothly.
I've been trying to figure this out (see my lame attempt below) but without much luck.
onClipEvent (mouseMove) { buffer=20 //movement buffer mousePos=_root.fStrip._xmouse //store mouse position if (mymouse!=_root.fStrip._xmouse){ //if the mouse has moved
I wish to get the effect of ants scuttering across the screen or up a tree, I have not decided which direction yet. I started with the tutorial code for the snow effect from kirupa, and changed it around to fit the little vector ant I created. The way I have it now looks pretty good, but the movement is a little too fluid. They obviously move in sinusoidal paths bc the code tells them to. I have about 20 copies of the main obj, and they're all a little different in size and specs (speed, transparency, etc) but what I was wondering was if there is any way I can change the code to make it a little more hectic, or erratic, not so fluid. If there is no way of doing so, it looks pretty good right now. If there is, however, I think it could look awesome. here's the code I'm using for the object.
I have a Mogli (Junglebook-like) Character that i got to move with the arrow keys on the keyboard.
I want the character to jump (so for example , he must while moving to the right of the "gamearea" , you must be able to hit a key (say for example the "control" key ) and then the character must jump ( go up ) and as soon as the key is released he must obviously come down.
And also how do one set movement speed on any particular movement.
I am trying to get a ball from left to right I click in 28 and insert keyframe then I right click and click on create motion tween nothing happens. When I do this same thing on the sample one with the car this is what I get. and when I do the ball one sample2 it don't have the blue bar.
I'm a AS3 noobie and have a simple question:Quote:var ball:MovieClip = new Ball();var inc:int = 0;stage.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN, onKey, false, 0, false);
I need to get my movie clip to move across the screen from (30,100) to (600,100). I have a ball moveclip which loops and looks like it is rotating, therefore I need to create the actionscript code to just move the ball from the points listed above and then it will look like its rolling.[code]But I am getting this error; Access of possibly undefined property x through a reference with static type Class.I have the movie clip named ball with a class of ball_mc and it is exported for actionscript, I dont understand what the error is trying to say?
I'm working on integrating Omniture into an Actionscript 2 custom written video player.Omniture is not playing ball at all and their documentation for their Actionscript component is very poor, and they don't provide tech support for it.
I have this code to make a ball bounce. it works fine, however, everything on the stage bounces. I only want the ball to bounce.
Here is my code /* Actionscript 3.0 Bounce Effect. ball = movieclip instance name*/ var velocity = 0; var gravity = 2; var speed = 0.03; var ground = 300; Object(this).ball.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, fl_bounce); function fl_bounce(event:Event) { [Code] .....
I am trying to follow and create a tutorial which explains how to make a bouncing ball.I am really struggling with the Action Script 3.0 even though the teacher types it in.I am inserting the code so that you can view it.[code]
