ActionScript 3.0 :: UILoader Start Before Complete?

I use an UILoader with a .swf as source. The problem is that the swf embeded in the UILoader start at 20% of UILoader Progress Loading.Is it a bug ? I'm pretty sure my loader should not show anything until 100% complete.PS : I have spent 3 hours before post this. All uiloader i have seen on the web do display at 100% loaded.

Just a quick question about the Timer class of Flex 4. I have a timer object with a set repeatCount. At the end of the set number of cycles, the TIMER_COMPLETE event is triggered and the timer.running changes to false. Now I can call the timer.start() function again. My question is that at this stage, does it also set the repeatCount property back to zero. Or does one have to explicitly call the timer.reset() function.

The preloader I usually use executes an addChild(loadedMovie)statement in response to an Event.COMPLETE event from the loaded swf's contentLoaderInfo object (a common approach, I believe.) The problem with this (as many of us know) is that the loaded swf starts running before the Event.COMPLETE event gets thrown, which means that once the child is added, it is already a few frames into its timeline. What I need is a way for the loaded swf not to start playing til its COMPLETE event gets thrown.

I have a large SWF flash file being loaded by a parent SWF and I would like to start playing the film being loaded, let's say, when it is 50% completed. According to my expected user's bandwidth and the size of my film I will calculate the best moment to do that (the film could be 20%, 30% or 50% loaded). I want to leave users waiting the minimum and I don't need to wait until my flash is 100%.
Ok, that said, here is the problem. I am in ActionScript 3. I have one film loading another and I want to anticipate the loaded film start. I have an onProgressHandler(mProgress:ProgressEvent) function (with listener launched by ProgressEvent.PROGRESS) and I have a regular onLoadComplete(e:Event) function (with listener launched by Event.COMPLETE). I could check for 20% completed during my regular onProgressHandler. But then, when I have identified this point has been reached, how can I anticipate the launching of the film? I mean, my Event.COMPLETE handler passes the e:Event and I can use e.target to get the loaded object into my film. But what happens if I want to start that process before it is complete? I cannot pass this e:Event because the COMPLETE handler hasn't been launched yet...
One important thing to say. The film that is loading is almost empty. It is very light. The heavy film is the one being loaded and I want to attach that film being loaded to a movie clip in my film before it has completed loading.

im loading multiple images but how do I make sure the program will start once all images have dispatched a complete event. like make a universal loader for all the other "small loaders" if you understand.

I made a test where I download a file using URLLoader - something like this:

in the middle of the downloading process I physically disconnect the internet connection. the download stalls - but after aproximately 30 seconds downloadSuccessful is invoked, although only half of the data was downloaded. how can I make sure that the data to be downloaded is complete and correct?

I am loading in binary files with the url class which can be quite large 10mb + and it works fine on my server but another server I am testing on it can sometimes not work. Sometimes it will not load the file and other times it will only load about 20% and it throw a complete event??? Then of course other times it works fine. This server is https maybe that has something to do this it?

i am making a quiz. My problem is that once the user completes the quiz and wants to start again the quiz is already on the last question. How do i make it so that once the user clicks start again the questions and answers arrays start from the beginning, sort of reset themselves.

I'm trying to broaden my horizons with it and so I'm trying to do an update of a quiz program my employer has. Everything has worked well, except for the timer. The button that starts the game has two options, "study" or "exam"; if the study is selected, there is no countdown, just the score keeper. If the exam option is selected, the timer is show (counting up). But, press "Start" and while the quiz begins, the timer, in either case, does not.
I'm going to post the actionscript for the timer that was already there, as well as the start button. I'm hoping someone can explain how this timer is supposed to work and why it's not; and where the disconnect lies in pressing the start button and making it run.The timer is embedded in a movie clip, with two dynamic text boxes, that are for some have no instance name; and actionscript spread out over several frames.Frame 1:

this might be a very simple thing to do, buuuut... I've got two UILoaders on my stage, when you click various buttons it makes various pics appear in them, I want to put a button on my main stage that would clear the images out of the UILoaders when it was clicked, and would just leave them blank. Is this possible?

When I use the UIloader it loads my first swf no problem but when i use the list item to load another swf it loads it in at a massive size. I thought it wasnt loading until I increased the stage. The swf is at a normall 550 x 400 so not sure why its made it 5 times bigger

I'm trying to load a bunch of symbols with UILoaders into a TileList. The code executes without error but the image that I was loading into the UILoader doesn't show up. I'm looping through an array and creating a new object (the one with the UILoader), setting the UILoader source and then adding it to the TileList.

I'm trying to add one more layer of polish on a UILoader. Upon clicking, the UILoader loads an image with a little animation, that's great. However, before the new image loads, the other image simply disappears instantly.
What I can't figure out is how to fade that image out BEFORE the next image loads - creating a more seamless transition. Here's the code so far:

I want to add a progress bar to my UILoader, now its easy to add the progressBar and make it load different images, but how can I add the progress that its loading in text by the progessBar
Show the progressBar and the the % of the file being loaded into the UILoader. And then after it loaded the picture the progressBar's visiblity must go to false.

I have videos on my Video.swf and mp3player on my music.swf now when i click on the video_btn, the Video.swf lods, but even when i click on another btn, the video is still playing on background. Same thing for my music.swf
How do i remove the video.swf and music.swf when the user clicks on a different button to load a different swf.

I am building a site in Flash cs4 and I'm a the part where i want to add my photos so I have inserted a UIloader to load my images and I have set the UIloader to pull from the images folder and it just keeps giving me an error message cant find images which I cant understand why cause the Fla file is in the same folder as the images,here's the part I really cant understand if I rename the images without numbers then it finds a couple of them???? I have always done it this way in the older versions and I know it works in the new version I have spent hours trying to find out why and have asked many people and they cant tell me why.

I looked at some other posts about "unloading the UILoader" and didn't look like anyone had found the ultimate answer. I came up with my own solution which is usin the following (where sectionLoader is the instance name of UILoader): Actionscript Code:sectionLoader.source = null;have no idea if this is the correct way to do this but it seems to work great!I'd love feedback on it and advice on a better way if there is one.AND I have another unresolved issue which is that I want to have the external swf fade out when it unloads. Is that possible? Would I use a Tween class and if so apply it to the UILoader, or to the swf itself, or...?Here is the code I have, including the button (nav_btn) that loads the UILoader with the external swf, plus adds a "close button" via addChild. I have opted to use the UILoader component to load external .swf's of my images. The problems I am running into are that: one, the UIloader does not seem to be loading at all some of the time
and two, I cannot have a UILoader that is larger than the dimensions I am loading the image into.
For the first problem, is there a way to put a progress bar that specifically targets the UIloader so I can make sure that it is actually loading? I've been looking for a tutorial for this, but have yet to find one that explains the code and what it does, making it difficult to customize.
For the second problem, is there any workaround for this, or are the dimensions of the loaded .swf limited to the dimensions of the base .swf?

I have to dynamically load an image in 2 separate places, but I don't want to have to load the same image twice (this consumes more bandwidth and makes the user wait longer than needed).Is there a way to, say, copy the contents of a UILoader into the contents of another? I am aware that flash performs caching, but I still see a slight loading delay on subsequent reloads.I am using as3, btw, on flash cs5.
