ActionScript 3.0 :: Bring The External .SWF To A Desired Level, Which Is Always On Top?

The following code works fine but always this external .SWF file stays on Top ot other Layers. How can I bring it down to the desired level (Say, if I have 10 layers and I would like this external .SWF on 5th layer).

I have a flash file (a flash navigation bar actually, which gets loaded in all the webpages inside the website). What I am trying to do is place an external swf file on it in a desired position when the corresponding page is being loaded. I am using FlashVars (variable name -> 'movieName') to pass the name of the movie clips. These variables are read by the navigation swf file and the corresponding swf file should be loaded in the area specified. Now, to create a container, I am using createEmptyMovieClip() method which will host all the external swf files.
The swf files are all being loaded but with a lot of problems. First, no matter what I try, the swf file comes at a fixed place (which is way off from where it is supposed to be). I have tried checking if the container loaded the movie before fixing its position but it changed nothing. Although it did change the position of a weird background colour box I am getting when the movie starts loading - which brings me to the second problem.
A rectangular box flashes once when the external swf is loaded, and its position is being affected by whatever I am setting the _x & _y values of the container movies to. I have no idea why it is happening as it doesn't happen when I test that swf seperately.

i have a main swf...from the main swf, an external swf is loaded which is a SubMenu.From the Submenu, a SECOND external swf is loaded. I would like a button that closes the SECOND external swf, but the submenu remains.

I am trying to use the code to make a top level navigation with subnav options.I have gone to the next level "_root.container.containerContent"For this subnav, I have got the SWF loading, but then it will not transition to the next SWF at the subnav level.I am not really sure which parts of the code need to changed, but I know that what I have changed allows the SWF to load, just not transition.This is a sample of the button code:

I have an external CSS file which defines the style for the Button tag.Button {fontSize 11; blah...}I'm trying to override this style for the buttons of a ToggleButtonBar:<mx:ToggleButtonBar dataProvider="{pm.portalNavigation}" fontSize="16" />Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to work. The fontSize stays at 11. How can I override the external CSS to resize the buttons in my ButtonBar?

how do I load an external .swf files in order for them always to load on top of the one loaded previously. I've tried to put all of them in the same level but the transition is abrubt. I want the transition to be smooth and each .swf file to load on top most level.

I was trying to upload an external .txt file which is located up one level from my .fla file but I couldn't make it work, this is what I have...This code works just fine if I put my external .txt file in the same folder as my .fla

I've got main time line as Main.swf (level 0) and few external swf files: Message_01, Message_02, Message_03 etc.By the end of the main time line there is a key frame with the script (AS2).The script should call randomly one of the external swf and load it to level 2.

I'm using xml to load .flvs into a movie player. I have it setup to load an external .swf to level 1 when the movie is finished. My goal is to have the .swf on level 1 select the next .flv from the xml array by way of simple buttons. Needless to say, it's not working. Anyone care to give it a crack?

I am creating a vertical shooter game for one of my assessments. There are 4 levels in the game, the object of each level is to shoot as many enemies (spawn via an external as file) to build up your score before the time runs out. Once the time reaches zero, you get linked to the next level. The first level is called the graveyard which has skulls as enemies. Once the time reaches zero, this swf automatically links to the next level which is called haunted_house.swf. The only problem is the skulls from the first level continue to spawn on the new level. How do I stop this? The coding for the timer and to link the first level to the next is below:

I have two layers in my FLA both with empty movie clips as follows:In mc_Empty1, I attach a faded background movieclip as I wait for mc_Empty2 to load a SWF. Once the SWF is loaded into mc_Empty2, I want to remove the faded background movieclip from mc_Empty1. When I load the SWF from the main timeline, the onLoad() function works and removes the faded background from mc_Empty1. However, when I load the SWF from mc_target, the SWF loads, but the onLoad() function does not. Here's my AS2 code:

This is making me a little kooky today. I thought I could defined a library path in PREFERENCES > ACTIONSCRIPT > ACTIONSCRIPT 3.0 SETTINGS then that library would be available to all AS3 FLA files, but that doesn't seem to work for me. If I use the PUBLISH SETTINGS and define the library path everything is fine.
Is there something that I could have done to disable the application level class path functionality? I guess I'm trying avoid having to set the library path for every new FLA I'm making.

I'm doing a bigger aplication in flash (as2).Image, there is a main "home" flash with several menu buttons.Clicking these buttons, I load external swf into an empty container in this "home" flash.[code]clicking buttons in this second level, will load external movies into an empty container in this SECOND LEVEL swf.This works fine, but now, coming to the THIRD LEVEL (don't think there will be more in the future) problems come up, some scripts won't work.Now (I'm a as2-beginner) I think, loading external swf ALLWAYS into containers in the first "Home" flash should solve the problem.But I don't know, how to load an swf from the third level into a container in the first "home" level.In the "home" level, I have a "close" button, that will unload the container content.I need to go to a certain scene "content_2" in the home swf, too.

I have called main.swf into a container in index.swf.
myMCL.loadClip("main.swf","container"); is an action on my Index.fla timeline.
I have my navigation on index. (i wanted it to go on main, but the nature of the animation meant it had to go on index)
I need to call "home.swf" into "main.swf" from the navigation button in Index.swf.
When I had the navigation on "main.swf" this was my code to call "home.swf" into the page.

("home") is the label name where the preloader is for home.swf

I'm having a problem with sounds in AS3. I'm using the following code.
ActionScript Code:
sound = new Sound(new URLRequest("mytrack.mp3"));
channel = sound.play();
If i want to skip to a certain location in the track, say 1/2 way through, i then use
ActionScript Code:
channel.stop(); //stops old sound from continuing
sound = new Sound(new URLRequest("mytrack.mp3"));
channel = sound.play(location); // location = time in ms to start from
I've noticed by using loading bars, that in most browsers, if the song has not fully downloaded, it restarts downloading from 0 and then when completely done, plays at the desired point. If the song HAS downloaded, it quickly loads (as if downloading from 0 to complete in about 1/2 second) and then plays from the desired point.
My question: Is there a better way to seek to a position in a song, that would stop this strange behavior?

I'm sure this has been addressed before, but I'm going a bit crazy here. I have a button that I want to go to a frame labeled "start" but in Internet Explorer it snaps back to the button's frame. I don't know what's going on. I've done this a hundred times before and it's worked. Is it because I'm in Flash CS4 saving as Flash CS3 - in Actionscript 2?

Ive got a few plroblems with this project at the moment. Ive got the function to colour tween the shapes through actionscript. As you look through it seems ok but im trying to get all 3 boxes to change colour. Unfortunatley i can only get one to change. When looking at the functions called by the buttons the second box seems to take priority over the first one. How can i get all three boxes to change to my desired colours?URL...

I have tried to figure out how to get an animation to pause at a desired frame after a click rather than just stopping it at that exact frame or putting a stop action at the desired frame. My goal is to have a movie sequence play continuesly and when a user so desires he/she can click and stop the movie, but rather than stop it while it is in transition at that exact frame, the movie should continue to a point where it is logical for the movie to stop.(example: the movie is at frame 2 when the user clicks, but instead of stopping at frame 2 it continues to frame 10, and then stops) Then on another click the movie will continue through it's sequence as it was before. I would like to use a MC, onClipEvent to handle the script in Flash MX.
