I made a scene with movement and everything, but when I convert it to a symbol I lose the movement frames. I want to be able to import it as an object so that the animation loops for as long as I need it to in the other project.

I'm new to AS3 coming over for AS2 and trying to figure out how to code a simple load sequence. I've got two scenes, "Scene 1" and "Scene 2". I've got a MC that is a simple shape tween that loops in the "Scene 1". I'm trying to assign code to this MC that will check to see if frame 40 of Scene 2 is loaded. If it is, gotoAndplay Scene 2 frame 1. If frame 40 of Scene 2 is not loaded, continure to loop the MC unitil it is. Here is the code I've got for the MC in the "Scene 1"

gotoAndPlay("firstframe", "Scene 2");
}
}
"firstframe" is the frame label for the Frame 1 in Scene 1. This seems more difficult in AS3 than AS2.

The ValidationManager has a public Dictionary for storing UI components that implement the IValidatable interface.I am testing a command class that needs an instance of ValidationManager and I want it to fail the validations. So I override the ValidationManager's "validateItem()" method like so:[code]My problem is in the execute method of the command. It checks to see if the validationItem is both a DisplayObject (isVisble) and IValidatable. Any slick way to stub a typed object AND an interface? How do I listen to an event dispatched from non-display-list concrete objects which are created by a singleton factory class?
An example would be where I want to create tweens for objects using a TweenFactoryClass. In my Main.as class I have this:

I defined list which needs to show list of employees. In my custom list, i want to provide selectedId property in order to select(highlight) employee with concrete id. List is created according to [URL]. This is code for my custom list...

In my code i bind some value on selectedId property of custom list(list is placed inside popup - TitleWindow). Now, only on the first show up of my custom list, employee, who have id identical as selectedId, is not visually selected(colored) in list. When i said visually, i mean that i get correct object and index when i take selectedItem or selectedIndex property of my custom list. Even more, on that critical first show up, when i roll mouse over item which should be selected, it stays selected(as she should be) after i roll out.

ive made a button in the scene 1 which i have managed to navigate to scene 2 but when i click the button it goes to scene 2 but displays everthing that is in scene 1 in scene 2, how can sort this out so upon the button click in scene 1 it goes to scene 2 and only display content in scene2.

i am making this simple drag and drop game using flash cs3 using as2.i got 4 games and it has the same codes but different game type.. basically it uses drag and drop.here is the problem, when i finish the game, and press the back button to go to the selecting game scene, the last object dropped in the previous game stays and appears in the scene after that.

I have a problem in ActionScript 3 with a project where I am to output a bunch of data in a diagram and as pure text. This is not the problem, though. The problem is that when the user changes the type of data he wants shown. I would then remove the currently shown columns in the diagram, and add new ones. But my code removes ALL columns, so that there is no diagram at all!
I've done it all in Flash CS5, and the columns are instances of an object I made (a rectangle) which I just add to the stage. All the instances are added to the container "container." When I want to remove them, and add new ones I use:

I am using the following code to load .md2 model in a scene using Papervision3D 2.1.932.

By looking at the trace log, the texture is successfully loaded and so is the mesh.

I can't understand why the object isn't visible in the scene.

In my app, I switch back and forth between Scene 1 & Scene 2 using gotoAndStop. No problems in either scene the first two times each. After doing Scene 2 the second time and going to Scene 1, one of my buttons is gone and the variable for it is null. The button was created with the IDE, not in my script and exists only in Scene 1. I have nothing in my script that moves it or removes it from the stage, let alone destroying the object itself.
Using the debugger, I noticed that the pointer for the object has changed at the very beginning of the scene (flash.Display.SimpleButton(@146fb21) to flash.Display.SimpleButton(@146fd91)). So it seems to me that display objects made with the IDE are destroyed (var = null) when exiting a scene and recreated when the entering the scene.
what could cause this one button and not any other similarly created objects (buttons, movieclips, textfields, etc.) not to be recreated and only after the second revisit to its scene.

My problem is with moving object on the scene with mouse. I use addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE, ..) and everything works fine, until I start moving my mouse fast. Object is small (circle, radius 5) so my guess is that It don't update circle position fast enough to prevent mouse from leaving it.
