If I set the rotation for any object on the stage, flash renders it as a 3d object, even if I set the rotation to 0 like this..[code]3d objects render differently and look fuzzier when you look at it dead on than when it is rendering as a 2d object. How do I convert the 3d object back to 2d so that I get the better quality 2d rendering back?
I have Flash CS4 but my school has CS3, i did a project in CS4 brought it to the school and the file will not open, what sould i do about this? How do i change the file format? The error message was unable to open file format.
I am using the Astra Tree component.I am passing XML to the tree's DataProvider.I want the user to be able to add nodes to the tree.The most convenient way seems to be to add the node directly to the tree component.This works but I need to be able to save the new tree back out as XML.Is there an easy way to convert the tree back to XML?I have not been able to find an easy way to convert from DataProvider to XML.
My project has a center-registered movie clip with a z-axis setting of 850 that I need to keep centered on the stage at all times, including when the stage is re-sized.Code like this for centering 2D objects doesn't seem to work:[code]My guess is that I need to convert the movie clip back into 2D space somehow, center it using the code above and then change the z-axis back to 850.
My program saves text files, which contain various text, some of which is a string representation of a ByteArray. It does this by using the toString() method of the flash.utils.ByteArray class, which I assume converts a ByteArray (for example, 13x$) into its string representation "13x$". So how do you reverse the process, and turn the string ("13x$") into a ByteArray (13x$)? Even if it's not that simple, I just need to have the ByteArray, put something in a text file, and extract from it the same ByteArray.
if I have a map of say, Wisconsin, and I know what the Latitude coords (degrees, hours, minutes) of the top and bottom of the map, and I know how many pixels tall the map is, then I should be able to convert, with math, degrees:hours:mins to pixels. (same thing with longitude, but lets just focus on one way first)
I would first find out how may hours (minutes would be over kill for my app) there are to a pixel. Thats pretty easy. But this gives me a decimal number. How do i convert a decimal value (like 10.25) back to degrees and hours (in other words, how do i make .25 a "60" based value)? Ultimately, i want the user to be able to input coords in the form of degrees, hours, mins. Then convert that to X, Y (to place a marker on the map).
Has any one had experience with this or know how to do this?
The entire .fla animation consists of nothing but two really long movie clips. Which are placed on frames 1 and 2 of the main timeline. Now for reasons that are too deep for me to go into explaination about my boss is telling me that I have to have everything main timeline -no movie clips. I've tried copypasting all of the frames but they all paste wayyy to large on the main timeline and they wind up in different places on the stage.
How can I move all of the frames from my two movie clips onto the main timeline without everything breaking? Better yet - is there any way to just convert a movie clip into an .fla?
In flex (flash builder 4) I have a Date() property that I am passing to Zend AMF (php) and I want to store that (as well as other data) in mongoDB. Mongodb is complaining about the date because it comes across as a Zend_Date object, which appears to be an object containing several properties and Mongodb is saying that it can not accept blank properties. So, I take that to mean it needs to be converted to something else before I can store it? If so, how do I do that?
At the moment I have taken the approach of converting the Zend_Date object in to a date string to store it (in php): $object->readyDT=date("m/d/Y H:i", strtotime($object->readyDT)); //convert to string
That works fine, and I have a string in mongodb of that date. Now, when I load the date from MongoDB, I need to convert it back to a Zend_Date so it properly converts back in to a Date() object in flex (I have to check that it's not blank or it throws errors in php): if (isset($object->readyDT) && $object->readyDT!=="") $object->readyDT = new Zend_Date($object->readyDT, 'MM/dd/yyyy hh:mm');
This all works, but it seems like there should be a much easier way to take a Date() from flex and get it stored in MongoDB via Zend AMF/PHP. ?
I'm working with a web service and am returning an array to a field (that I set the data type as an Array). The result thus far is "[object Object]". How can I get the array values back out as a string?
So I have two circles and a square on stage, myCircle1, myCircle2, and mySquare. You can drag the two circles, if you drop either one outside the square it'll snap back to where it originally was, if it's touching the box it'll snap to the center of the square.
I want it so when the second circle (either one) snaps to the center of the square, the first one will go back to it's original co-ordinates. So only one circle can be in the square at any time.
Allright, i receive a string and want to convert it to object. here a test that i have made:
[code]....
this work pretty fine... but i am receiving the object property as follow: "{a:'test',b:'testAgain'}" How can i easily convert it to object properties?
I condensed my problem down to the lines of code below.I think the code is pretty self explanitory. My problem is that for a reason I can't figure out, it doesn't tween the alpha back to 100. It simply snaps it back to 100 abruptly What am I doing wrong here?
OK, at first this seemed like the easiest thing to do, but I've tried to make it work a number of different ways and nothing seems to work. I have a movie clip that I want to have constantly moving back and forth across the stage, basically "bounce" off the left and right sides. What's the best way to do this using AS2?
I've been teaching myself 3d objects in Flash using the tool in the timeline and AS3. My Problem is moving an object one way and at a specific point move back (and repeat) in AS3 here is the code. How can I move satillite.x one way and then in the oppisite direction?.
[Code]...
Is there a way to size these objects, or is it depedent on the size of the image map?
I am trying to get this an object to go from position A to B and back, in infinity!!I only get the object to go from A to be B and then it stops. The code is in the MovieClip actions.
Here is the code.. onClipEvent (enterFrame) { this.onEnterFrame=goRight; goRight=function(){ if (this._y<250) this._y+=1; else this.goLeft; } goLeft=function() { if (this._y>50) this._y-=1; else this.goRight; }}
In my app, I switch back and forth between Scene 1 & Scene 2 using gotoAndStop. No problems in either scene the first two times each. After doing Scene 2 the second time and going to Scene 1, one of my buttons is gone and the variable for it is null. The button was created with the IDE, not in my script and exists only in Scene 1. I have nothing in my script that moves it or removes it from the stage, let alone destroying the object itself.
Using the debugger, I noticed that the pointer for the object has changed at the very beginning of the scene (flash.Display.SimpleButton(@146fb21) to flash.Display.SimpleButton(@146fd91)). So it seems to me that display objects made with the IDE are destroyed (var = null) when exiting a scene and recreated when the entering the scene.
what could cause this one button and not any other similarly created objects (buttons, movieclips, textfields, etc.) not to be recreated and only after the second revisit to its scene.
I was curious what libraries people are using to convert xml into objects. I found XMLtoObject.as but it seems to be choking on me. pixlib might do the job for me but their server seems to be down.
So, there are a wealth of Flex articles online about how to handle a .NET WebMethod that returns a DataSet or DataTable. Here is an example: Handling web service results that contain .NET DataSets or DataTables So, I know how to use result.Tables.<tablename>.Rows and the like. But what I cannot seem to figure out or find online is how to go the other direction - a method to pass objects or tables back to the .NET Webservice from Flex, without stooping to passing XML as a string, or making huge web service methods that have one parameter for each property/column of the object being stored. Surely others, smarter than I, have tackled this issue.
I am using ASP.NET 2.0 Typed DataSets, and it would be really nice if I could just pass one object or array of objects from Flex to the web service, populate my Typed DataTable, and do an Update() through the corresponding typed TableAdapter. My dream would be a [WebMethod] something like one of these:
I am designing a website for a friends band, there's a picture gallery page with two buttons, a live shots button and a promo shots button, which goes to frames 2 and 3 respectively on both frames 2 and three i have a third button called back.
This back button isn't working, I keep getting
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at site2_fla::pics_31/site2_fla::frame1()
Here's the code for the buttons
Code: stop(); live_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, buttonClick); function buttonClick(event:MouseEvent):void{
I have a movie clip for each piece of clothing that will be used to attach on the dog. These movie clips click and drag to add clothes onto a target and it automatically resets back to its original position each time you grab a different selection of clothing. All of my objects go the original position except for one. The "julyDress" movie clip automatically pops up to the top of the page and does not reset to the original position.
Below is my code: stop(); var startJulyXPos:Number = JulyDress.x; var startJulyYPos:Number = JulyDress.y;
The coding language is Java.I have a ByteArray embedded in ActionScriptObject.(Smartfox Server)I want to convert it into ByteArray.The idea is to save it as an image.This a sequel to the post --> Convert Byte Array from Action Script to Image in Java and save it
I have a working s3 uploader in actionscript that uses the FileReference class so a user can browse for files to upload when he/she clicks on the upload button. I have a web application and I want the user to have his/her configuration saved to s3 as an XML file when they hit the save button, so the "save" button will trigger the upload. However, I cant figure out a way to add the XML file to the FileReference variable I create. I was looking at the File class but that appears to be only usable in AIR. Is it possible to create a FileReference object based off of an XML file that actionscript creates within the application without browsing for a file using FileReference.browse(); ?
