ActionScript 3.0 :: Having The First Object Snap Back When A Second Object Is Placed In The Same Place

Nov 26, 2009

So I have two circles and a square on stage, myCircle1, myCircle2, and mySquare. You can drag the two circles, if you drop either one outside the square it'll snap back to where it originally was, if it's touching the box it'll snap to the center of the square.

I want it so when the second circle (either one) snaps to the center of the square, the first one will go back to it's original co-ordinates. So only one circle can be in the square at any time.

I've attached my as file with the current code.

I'm new to Flash (sort of - I used it a bit back in 1999-2000, but it's changed a LOT since then). I'm making an educational game for my company that involves dragging labels from a word-bank to their correct position on a diagram. I want the kids to be able to drag any one of the five labels and move them to any one of five marked positions on the diagram. I'm using Flash CS5 with Actionscript 3. I used code snippets, so that each individual label has the following code associated with it:

I found a way to do it if the object's rotation is 0 but it doesn't work if I rotate the object. I need a different approach. Can you point me into the right direction with the algorythm or any source code?

I am wanting to in essence create a puzzle with pieces that when you drag the object you can only drop it back where you got it from or into the correct spot. Basically it is an object that when dragged to the right spot will (snap to) or drop into place. If it is dragged to the wrong spot then it will be forced back to where it was originally.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Self Tidying Buttons ('snap' Into Place)

Sep 10, 2003

I have a flash quiz type thing, which involves the user dragging quotes onto a choice of 2 movie clips then clicking submit to get the correct answers etc (you know the kind of thing).My question is would it be possible to self tidy the buttons when they are dragged onto the MC's? For example quote 1 is released on the MC and it snaps straight into position 1, then when another quote is released it snaps neatly underneath into position 2 and so on..The difficult part is that whatever qoute is dragged first, it needs to snap to the top, the second underneath, and so on.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Snap Image Into Place On A Movie Clip?

May 18, 2010

I have my stage.  On the left side, I imported an image to the stage and converted it to a movie clip.  I then added code so that it can be dragged and dropped.  On the right hand side, I created an area for it to be dropped into.  This is just a rectangle which has been converted to a movie clip.  When the image is dropped, it resizes to the size of the movie clip rectangle.  Is there anyway to make it snap into place inside the movie clip?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Drag And Drop Objects That Snap Into Place?

Dec 8, 2006

I'm new around these parts (I literally signed up about 3 minutes ago!). I'm a high school student who just started using Flash about a month or two ago, so I'm far from advanced, though I have tackled some of the basics. In class I'm working on an art portfolio site but in my spare time I'm making a virtual dress-up doll (you know, the kind where you can pick up the clothes and drop them on the figure to mix and match outfits).Learning how to make drag-and-drop objects was very easy and there are lots of tutorials on it but what I can't figure out is how to get objects to "snap" into place. I want it so that the doll's hairdo's snap into position because they look kind of stupid when placed incorrectly.

Preserving An Object After It Bounces Into Place?

Jul 12, 2009

I'm creating a simple banner for my site and have run into problems with easing.

What I want to happen is for the title of my site to bounce into place from frames 1 to 60 and then for an adjacent tag line to transition from blurry to clear during frames 61 to 90.

This is what my timeline looks like:

What I can't figure out for the life of me is how to get the title to remain on the stage after it stops bouncing on frame 60.

I tried extending the bounce tween to frame 90 then using the motion editor to shrink it to frame 60, but, for some reason it becomes distorted and no longer looks like a bounce:

What's the trick to getting the title to stay in place?

Html :: Place An Overlay DIV With Opactiy < 1 Over A Flash Object

Apr 4, 2011

We have a flash object and when we use blockUI or some other overlay div with opacity < 1, it doesn't make the flash area transparent. However, it do hides the flash object when opacity is 1, but I want to have the overly div transparent which make the flash area transparent too like it doing for other HTML objects.

Here is the code expert:

[Code]....

For overlay div we are using jQuery.blockUI and FancyBox (when we need to some popup and block the UI). We also tried to overlay the flash object using a div with z-index. It overlays and hides the flash when opacity is 1 but not when it's < 1.

Here is the screen shot:

ActionScript 2.0 :: Tween Class Snap-back?

Oct 21, 2007

Have a look here: [URL].. those are 5 MCs attached to a container MC. Mouse over and out for a bit and you'll see the problem. If you roll over a square and then out before it completes the tween, and then over again the alpha will fade to 20% as it should but then pop back to the initial value of 100%.

Does anyone understand why this is happening? Has anyone come up with a solution?

[Code]...

If you mouse "through" one of the squares and then wait 5 seconds (the duration of the out tween) and then mouse over the same square it will not pop back to 100%. If you however mouseover quicker it will pop. This leads me to believe there is some sort of timer running even though the tween is not.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Move Object To Specific Place And Continue To Next Frame In MC

Jun 18, 2003

I have an object that moves around, and once it is pressed, I want it to move to a specific place and then continue to the next frame in the movie clip. This is what I have : a movie clip, the first frame has the stop(); command and contains approx 12 frames. The MC has this script attached to it :

onClipEvent(enterFrame){
if(_x >= 0){
_x = _x - 10
}if(_y >= 0){
_y = _y -10
}if(_x == 0 && _y == 0){
gotoAndPlay("/ball",2) // ball being the instance name of the mc
}}

The first two parts do move the object to where I want it but the third part will not work and I cant get it to move past frame 1. (Note : 0,0 is not the place I want it to move to, it is there because I was experimenting with the code and this was an easy place to assign to the movement).
