I am working on a flash game based on an AS3 project using FlashDevelop. I need a textbox with scroll bar. I was able to create an editable TextField, but I can't find a way to add a vertical scroll bar.
I want to load many data form xml file so I want to create TextField and put my xml data to that TextField in other hand I have to create many TextField and Control them, how can i create a TextField like an array?
Is it possible to create a input textfield that's always active? Normally you need to click it but id like it to be already 'clicked' when the movie loads.
I have no problem dynamically loading text if I place a textField on the stage but I can't seem to get the following to work using the createTextField. I shortened my code to make it easier to read and still show what I am trying to do. Also I can I place the text within the BlueMenu or only on top of it? Is so how?
I can't figure out how they create clickable buttons around the text that has associated changes. The button even shifts with the text so that it remains in the correct spot as I type in front of it.
Howz the day? Well im new to Flash scripting. Can you guide me for the following problem.I generated the xml file through that data in it, i would like to get the output in flash file (.fla).
[Code]...
Where in this xml file number of object type of content and image are not same for every page.For every content like to create <TextField> as well as every image like to create <Movieclip> automatically based on every page.After generating the objects in the xml file into the flash scripting.If its more than one page.User can able to view in the format of <NEXT> and <PREVIOUS> button.So this is the scenario.if anyone come across this problem just tell your way of suggestion,snippets or sample peice of code to move ahead further.
i am using the createtextfield method to create textfields in my swf, but i can't see them i can copy paste the content of them, and the things related to them work properly, but they won't appear in my swf. i thought they were underneath some image, but when i switch off (_alpha=0) the image, there is nothing. i also have an attachmovie in the same movieclip i create textfileds in, but the clip attached is visible.here's the code i am using:
I've created a custom format for a TextField text as below:
Code: var _format:TextFormat = new TextFormat(); var _font:Font = new VerdanaPlain(); _format.font = _font.fontName; _format.size = 12;
and then I've applied it to a TextField like so:
Code: var _text:TextField = new TextField(); _text.setTextFormat(_format); _text.text = "Here is some text";
and for some strange reason, the format does not seem to have any effect on the text in the text field. It still shows using default settings. And yes I have exported the font for linkage.
I'm trying to create a dynamic textfield for a custom timer created by me. This is how:
var tid:int = 0; tid = tid+1/30;
[Code]....
The problem is, I can't get the TextFormat to work. Would a timerclass solve the problem?If so, how do I create this? I've only learned to create timers the way I showed above.
I have a display box on the stage and I am having trouble getting the x and y coordinates to sync on the createTextfield box. The width and height are correct when I test it. The textfield does not show up in mcDisplayBack. How do I get them to line up?
Script var nWidth:Number = mcDisplayBack._width; var nHeight:Number = mcDisplayBack._height;
I have an XML feed coming into my application. What i would like to have happen is the for loop that adds an index number to each item in the feed, also create a text box for the description and title and then assign the item text to those text areas
var il:XMLList=xml.channel.item; for(var i:uint=0;i<il.length();i++){ var mySumm:TextField = new TextField();
When I create a textbox by using textbox tool, I can embed the fonts and the Turkish characters with embed button (autofill). But when I create a text field by AS2.0, I can embed the font but text box shows only the English characters with my font.
I trying to create a TextField in a Actionscript file, But when I try to create an instance of the class in flash no textfield is appearing. [code]...........
First let me warn you that I'm "old school" i.e. code is on my timeline and the only classes used were those automatically created when I added several new fonts to Script1.swf which is my movieclip for embedded fonts.
On the first frame of my main movieclip which is named Round.fla, I have loaded Script1.swf that contains the fonts using the loader object. I'm using a trace statement that shows that Script1_lb.swf is loaded.
I am using a listbox (script1_lb) with movieclip icons (jpg picture of the sample font) and the data is the name of the font class, like this: script1_lb.dataProvider.addItem( {icon:akaDora_mc, data:"akaDora"} );
I created a document class for an empty stage and would like to create an output class which is imported into the document class.Inside the output class I would like to create a textField with the methods to set and read the text.
I am receiving "Definition fl.controls:TextInput could not be found".I read that you need to have this in the library (I dragged a text field as classic text, input text on stage).
how can i make a movieclip and a textfield to resize to the content of the text in the textfield? I mean, if I have a textfield with 3 letters font name XXX and then the content of the field change, how can i resize te textfield so the text dont autoadjust to the 3 letter space?
Does anyone know, why a textfield may become white when loading text + JPGs into it? Sometimes it happens to me, sometimes not. I haven't figured out why. If you have any clues... The AS I'm using:
I am looking to change the background color of a input textField when the user selects that testfield to start populating it. I have done a bunch of searching and I keep coming up with this type of answer...
Code: myTextField.onSetFocus = Set(evt:Event){ // Change color }
Problems...
1) Is onSetFocus/onKillFocus still available? From what I can tell it is not.
2) I have my text objects encapsulasted in a class so I do not believe I am able to do it like I have been suggested.
I'm using the following to remove a textFeild from the stage I then need to add this textField back to the stage at a later time....i tried using addChild the problem is the text that was in the text field prior to the removal is still in the textfield when i re add it......How do i remove the textfield and replace it with a fresh textfield at a later time?....using msgTa.text =""; is not an option.
I just recently started playing with cs5 and it's new features. I tried to rotate a textfield with the 3D rotation tool, but when you do this, the textfields gets blurry.And it seems like it's not a vector text anymore, because when you zoom in, it still is blurry.Is there a way to prevent that?
