I have a flash object which dimension and position are as same as the HTML button. The button is under the flash object. I want when the flash is clicked and hovered, the button has the styles as if it is clicked and hovered at the same time. I am trying to call: ExternalInterface.call("mouseEventHandle", elementId, eventName); in flash to pass event to JS. And in JS(coffeescript): window.mouseEventHandle = (elementId, eventName) -> id = '#' + elementId switch event when "down" then console.log("down") when "up" then console.log("up") when "enter" then console.log("enter") else console.log("leave") # leave the function is responsible for styling the HTML button. The question is how to style the button under in JS? Or is there other way to achieve the goal?
I have been requested to create a website similar to the one on this page: [URL] I'm familiar with flash and some actionscript, but would anyone be able to provide feedback on how this site would be best be done?
I have created a dynamic accordion style navigation button using both Falsh and XML.I have the XML loading at a certain keyframe after the navigation button is fully expanded creating 7 sub navigation buttons which link to a certain website.
The Issue I'm having is when the user rolls off the button the it collaspes but the 7 sub navigation buttons still remain.
Having some strange problems with masks in FMX 04: We're developing an accordion style interface. The problem is that buttons and images/mcs that are outside the "masked area" of each module are somehow clickable, or are "invisibly" pushing other content up/down. So basically the buttons/mcs are hidden, but Flash is still seeing them somehow. Is this normal mask behavior? Is there a solution besides setting the button to _visible = false? This is effecting my interface in other ways as well.
I have a menu drawer at the edge of the screen that shows when the user rolls the mouse over it, but if the user overshoots it an moves the cursor slightly outside the browser window this is unfortunenatly registered as a mouse out.
I want to stop this by using event.MOUSE_LEAVE, but i need to use it as a condition not to triger a "leaveHandler".
I'm using a scrollpane and when you release the mouse outside the flash area when scrolling it doesn't register the MOUSE_UP and gets stuck in its scrolling state. You then have to click inside the scrollpane to disable the scrolling. I'd like to use a MOUSE_LEAVE event to remove the focus from the scrollbar so this doesn't happen. What is the best way to disable the scrollbar when the user is outside the flash window?
I am hoping someone has a quick answer for me on this. I am trying to handle a drag event when the cursor leaves the stage. Should be fairly simple with Event.MOUSE_LEAVE, but I am having unexpected difficulties.with:
Code: this.stage.addEventListener(Event.MOUSE_LEAVE,this.mouseDragReleaseHandler); I never reach the code in mouseDragReleaseHandler
why my MC's wont leave the stage, or indeed, simply move position it would make me very happy if you could tell me.
The set up is this. I have a number of MC's on stage that i place into an array. When i click the stage the program moves onto the next frame where the MC's are in a different position and are then sorted on the y value. Simple. The code is pretty much like this, and by it self works a treat.
[Code].....
However, placed into the main program it decides not to work. If the MC's arent in the sorting array, they do move xy positions (but obviously dont sort). If they are placed in there, they sort, but seem to be stuck on their xy co-ordinates.
I have created a movie that requires the user to click on two points on an image. I want a visual indication to appear (eg a marker of some sort) to appear on the first and second click. Is this possible?
I am creating an expandable flash banner using Flash CS3/AS3, with Event.MOUSE_LEAVE to detect when the mouse leaves the banner. In closed state the dimensions are 300x250, when expanded it opens to 500x500. As far as I can see the banner opens and closes perfectly in all browsers other than Safari (only tested on v4.0.3). It seems that in Safari when expanded to 500x500, the flash player fires the MOUSE_LEAVE event when the mouse leaves the 300x250 area, rather than the 500x500 area, ultimately closing the banner prematurely. You can see it working (or not working in Safari's case) here: [URL]
This is the code I'm using to open/close the banner: Code: addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE, open_banner); function open_banner(e:MouseEvent):void { removeEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE, open_banner); stage.addEventListener(Event.MOUSE_LEAVE, close_banner); gotoAndPlay('open'); [Code] .....
I'm getting no errors on this, Go (comeback) is my movie clip which should turn up when the mouse leaves the stage area and leave when the mouse enters the stage. I know it's probably my removeChild command
I've got 4 button images that drop in when the movie starts, and when you click on an image it loads in an XML image flow. Problem is, when I click the "go back" button, it goes to frame 2 to start over, but the XML gallery/image-flow won't leave the stage. Link is below, code is attached.I've been pulling my hair out for a few days now
Just got into flash about 8 months ago and have an assignment for AS2. (Personally I like AS3, but I have to work the parameters of the project). My question: I have a loadMovie command on the 1st frame of my timeline. How can I play a movieClip from the library and leave it on the stage before the loadMovie. I can provide more details and the code i have so far if needed.
I have an accordion component on my stage and I really do not even know where to start to do .I found this code on the Adobe help pages and it causes the movement of the accordion to bounce... which is great... but my problem is populating the accordion with the data.
My accordion is called "top_acc".I have three(3) labels... (FIRST,SECOND, and THIRD) Within there i would like arrays to be displayed for the select label. My arrays are defined and when i trace them i get exactly what i am looking for... the format of the code to add an array to my accordion...then upon selecting the item in the array displayed i would to be able to display that same array value in a text box called "my_selection" ....also the amount of items in the array are not static and change day to day..
I have been trying to develop a drag and drop Mr. Potato Head type game for a couple of days now. I am new to AS3 and I have hit a roadblock that I was hoping someone out there could help me get through. My game has 3 separate menus (mouths, hats, and eyes). Each menu is a nested MC which has several dragable objects. Unfortunately, when I move to the next frame on the timeline the object I drug out resets itself and disappears. Is there any way to keep a dragable object on the stage once it has been placed there? I think my problem is more of a logic and structure issue with the way that I set up the game rather than an issue with actionscript.
I have designed a menu that When you mouse over it, a custom cursor appears. When you mouse down it disappears and when you mouse up it returns. If you happen to mouse down and then drag the mouse off of the menu (whilst in mouse down) and then mouse up outside the menu, the custom cursor disappears. All good. The only issue is: If you happen to mouse down on the menu and then drag the mouse off of the menu AND off of the stage, i.e the SWF (whilst in mouse down) and then mouse up completely off of the stage, the custom cursor appears at the point it left the menu. I have tried to fix this using MOUSE_LEAVE but this dosnt work when the mouse button is pressed down. I have attached an FLA, SWF and the AS below.
I have this kind of menu structure design (see image attached), and the way It needs to work is when the mouse goes close to a topic it follows it and when the mouse is a certain distance away it springs back to its orginal place?
Is it possible to persist the look of a 'hovered' hyperlink even after the mouse has moved away from it? I want to keep the user's attention on the hyperlink -- or at least have them able to see what it was, standing out from the rest of the text -- for a few seconds after they've left it. Ideally it would fade slowly back to normal
I am an extreme novice in Flash and I've built a drop down menu following a tutorial from YouTube - sadly this took me days! It functions BUT fast mouse movement away from the menu drop down seems to prevent the drop down menu from closing. Does anyone know of a fix for this?
Second question - I know how to create text links but when I do this the text's position jumps down without me having told it to. So is there a way to apply a link to a button rather than the text in the button, and is it possible to also apply a link to a movie clip?[URL]...
In the setOne_mc I have three buttons close_btn, min_btn and max_btn....I want the movie clip to be removed from the stage if close is released.I seem not to be conecting with the buttons...the clip appears on the screen.
I'm trying to set up a loop for a movieclip btn with the instance name "btnEnter". btnEnter is loading XML content from a file called menuDef.xml
Here is the code I have inplace so far,
//CODE// var link: URLRequest = new URLRequest("menuDef.xml");var loader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(link);var i:intvar myXML:XML = new XML();//call the loaders load function to load the specified URL
[Code]....
Right now I have only the item_spacing and item_count variables in place, but I'm not sure of my next step?
If you had a set of buttons called: bt1, bt2, bt3 etc all the way to "bt11" and you wanted to assign the same eventlistener to all of them how would you go about this? ie:
I'm trying to create a pseudo OS within flash. It's for a website. Essentially there will be "files" to click that that open up draggable windows, just like a mac/pc/linux etc GUI. For example; there could be files for "about, gallery, info, contact" or whatever else that when clicked would open up scrollable/draggable/closeable windows with the content in them.
I'm having serious problems finding any documentation or tutorials on this, even though I'm pretty sure this kind of thing has been used often. My main hang up right now is draggable scrollpanes. Is it possible to do? I can't seem to figure it out.
I'm really stuck on the draggable scrollpanes I have movie clips in place of the scroll panes right now. I wasn't sure on how to actually open the movie clips with a button press so I just placed the two movie clips off the stage, and when one of the two buttons on the stage is pressed, it moves one of the clips onto the stage (thats a ghetto way of doing it, but I'm not sure on how to do it a better way). The clips are draggable with transparency and levels so whatever your dragging becomes slightly transparent and moves to the top level. Aside from my scrollpane problem, I also have no idea how to get the clips to close or move off the stage...
I have a series of mc's I'm attaching from the library, with buttons in the main movieInside each of the attached mc's is a close button that needs to close the attached mc and launch a function in the main movie, but I'm having trouble addressing the button inside the attached mc from the main timeline.I've tried this:
