ActionScript 3.0 :: Get The Declare Location Of One Object?
Jun 11, 2011
i wonder if there is a way to get the declare location of one object suppose i declare an instance of ClassB in ClassA do the classB's instance have a method to know its born location,that's ClassA?
PS:forget the solution that direct set a refrence of ClassA in classB's constrator
I am trying to make an object tween from its starting location to the location of a mouse click. I have a script, but it has a very annoying ease to it.I would LIKE the object to mantain a certain speed during while traveling from its starting location to the mouse click location.
I'm trying to convert a number of Flash activities that I wrote in AS2 and re-write them in AS3. I've managed to convert one that is a simple question/answer activity that uses the radio button components from Flash CS5.The problem is, the project looks and functions fine from within Flash (no compiler errors), but if I open it as a standalone swf, it's clear that Flash Player doesn't like something in my code (the radio buttons and all other button instances start flashing and appear skewed). I'll copy/paste my code below if anyone cares to read it. I would narrow in on the offending code, but I really don't know where that is...
ActionScript Code: // ------------------- check answer function function checkAnswerBtn_listener(eventObject:MouseEvent) {
When you click on the button something happens. However it seems redundant to me that in the declaration of myListenerFunction, the event object e of class MouseEvent, actually has to have its data type MouseEvent mentioned.
I am attempting to create a flash game similar to the Android (and now iOS) game Atomic Bomber, similar in concept of course. (I am unable to link a Youtube video, for concept search "Android Atomic Bomber")
My query is on moving the object to a click location, currently I am using Tween to move the object. The object is at a constant speed by default moving to the right, once the player clicks the stage the aircraft will move towards the click location:
ActionScript Code: //Get Click Location public function mouseClick(e:MouseEvent):void {
I am trying to get a stationary object to follow the mouse but remain in its location. Example: i am trying to get the center of a compass to follow the mouse around screen while remaining inside the compass. i have only found out how to have it chase the mouse but not remain on a fixed point and rotate.

I have a task: I need to place about 100 sprites on one canvas (with prepared grid on it). I need to place them as invisible (circles) stones, on the board, and make visible only on mouseover. The problem I come across is following, I can't place those objects accurately into the nodes on the grid.
I created a simple button that displays an error messeage: "error opening 'url" when I test the movie, but does play and opens in browser after publishing. However, it won't open in the browser in a different location. I pasted the html code in a web page but it doesn't work there nor opens in the browser in a differnet location from where it was originally published and saved. Why is that?
How can I move my MC from one location (x, y) to another location (x1, y1) wirh action script..?.. and I would like to have my motion tween rounded to (x,y) so it will look sharp.
I'm trying to get a value from a function which is a URLLoader COMPLETE event but even with declaring variables outside of the function will not allow me to get the value out. I'm stuck.It seems that the Asynchronous nature of Flash makes it impossible to get a value out: e.g. this works:
// Initialise a URLLoader to get XML data from XML file var myFPBLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(); myFPBLoader.load(new URLRequest("flightPlannerBoard.xml"));
I have a flash project that involves using glow filters on several mcs all over the site, the problem is, the current way I'm doing it requires me to declare and assign the filter on every MC's container.
Is there a way where I can just declare the glow filter once on the maintime line, and then simply apply the filter on the MCs where needed?
this is what I use for every MC, and it's really tedious and hard to keep track of/change.
Code: var Glow1:GlowFilter = new GlowFilter(); Glow1.color = 0xFFFFFF; Glow1.inner = false;
I have a swf page where the external swf will load, there is any way to declare variables who work in all swf. What I am trying to do is: like a switch, with several options in which all these are listed in the main swf
I am using Vectors in Flash 10 for the first time, and I want to create it in the same way I used to do with Arrays, e.g:var urlList : Array = [url1, url2, url3];I have tried various different methods but none seem to work, and I have settled on the following as a solution:
var urlList : Vector.<String> = new Vector.<String>(); urlList.push(url1, url2, url3);
I have a flash actionscript 3 project that works perfectly fine when i run the SWF locally. It also works in MAMP (my localhost development) but doesn't do anything online. Do i need to declare the swf in the document class somehwere.
