Once they go to one, it takes them to a certain frame, then returns to the choice frame. There are three choices here, and what I want to happen is have a button appear to move them past this section, only after they have viewed all three choices.
View 9 RepliesI have a site where I want to restrict the user from moving forward unless they have visited certain pages. So if you visit page 1, 2, & 3, then a button appears that lets you move forward. I have this working using buttons. See Example: boolean.zip
However what I need to have happen, is instead of having it check to see if you visited the page by clicking a button, I would like it to check if you visited a frame just be going to that frame. I am not sure how to do that.

I am curious if there is something to how preloaders like this work. Does each animation happen after a certain precent is loaded (in this example, when the squares turn green) or are they just animations that have nothing to do with the actual preloading?
I have recently been developing a sailing game and my boat turns with the arrow keys. On the turn i would like to keep the boat constantly moving forward in the direction it faces. What is the simplest way to do this?
(When i rotate the boat to the right/left, i want the boat to move that direction)
I have simple flash CS4 file (AS3) with a video playback component in a movie clip called "video". The only other thing in this flash movie is a script to load another SWF file as soon as the video is done playing....If I use stop() on the frame with the video - it will play - but then the playhead will not move forward to the next frame which has the next script and if I leave the stop() off - it plays only a a few frames of the video and moves on to the next frame and executes the script that loads the swf file.
Everything I've read requires a button event - and I don't need a button. I just need the video to play - then the next script to execute.Here are the only scripts in the flash movie:

I want it to move forward when a sound finishes playing. I have a listener that listens for the sound to finish, but it doesn't work.

I've got these 3 separate animations moving forward and backward based on simple rollover interaction. It all works and all is well with the world, but I know this can be done in a more efficient manner. Instead of duplicating all the functions with different numbered versions of their name, how can I group this stuff together and call it once? Just curious as I'd like to be more efficient with things like this moving forward.

I simply want to move a video forward and backword when it is already playing, but the seek method is not working properly. I can't figure out, where the problem is.I have two buttons (pluz_btn and minus_btn). Plus button is used to move half second forward and Minus button is used to go back half seconds.The plus button is working but it is showing about is moving the video to about 3 seconds.The minus button should move video backword. View 1 RepliesI am trying to get the f4v movie called myMovie.f4v to move forward one frame at a time every 10 seconds. I created a countdown that makes the movie play after x amount of seconds but I need to make the movie advance only one frame and the count again.

Basically after adding an object on stage (using actionscript), it will be situated at a random rotation angle using:

After that, I want my object to move in the direction that it is facing, (using onEnterFrame?). How do I do that?

If I have a main SWF movie, in which I load external SWF files, and in that main SWF movie I have a scrubber bar, to control the loaded movies, do those movies have to have all their animation in the timeline?How do I use a scrubber bar to rewind or move forward animations created by actionscript or nested within movieclips? Is this even possible?

View 2 Replieshere is some code for a rotating crank that controls an image gallery. refer to the "image viewer stops?" thread in the flash mx forum (sorry don't know how to link to a forum yet!) for more info. attached is the fla. i want to be able to crank clockwise to scroll images forward and counterclockwise to scroll images backwards. If i keep cranking, i want the images to continue to change, if i stop cranking, i want it to stp on that image. it doesn't sem tooooo hard, i'm just numb from tryig to figure it out.

[URL] i assume it's a series of frames with slightly different photos of the razor. when you play the movie it looks like it is spinning. my question is, how do they get the movie clip it to play forward when you move the mouse in one direction, and backward in the other? is it something like mouse over to the right and left (i'm bad with the direction code)??
right now i have a version that will play the movie clip (it's a button w/ only a hotspot) on mouse over and it will stop when the mouse os off the hotspot, but i can't get it to work like the headblade example. because i don't know the right code to play forward and back etc on mouse moves.
I'm wondering how I would go about making a Mouse Trace, on a line that's preset but my choosing to let people enter into my Flash and/or progress throughout it. Basically, I have a picture of say, the number 5, I want to be able to have people use the mouse cursor to trace the 5 from one end to the next, and once completed the sites move forward. Though, I will be using my company logo which is a bit more advanced than a single number or letter form. If no one is sure what I'm talking about I've added a picture to demonstrate what I'm trying to do. Another idea I have if this one can't be accomplished, is a slide bar.Basically, it would look like a timeline control in say, VLC, and I would have the user drag a button from one side to the next to unlock and move forward. Though that may seem a bit more simple that my main idea, I would also like to be able to get really advanced with this second function and make a series of slide bars, say, 3, and they have to be slid in a certain manner, like slide bar 1,3,2 then it unlocks and moves forward.

View 3 RepliesI have been working on a couple of projects where image scrolling have been necessary, usually along the x-axis, cause of the number of images - usually the scroll is started if you roll-over a button or something. I have solved it using a Timer, or previously setInterval, that updates the .x-property like 30 times a second or so. But in the end this method turns out to be kind of laggy, regardless of what fps I use. So I wonder if you guys could share your prefered method of scrolling

Basically, it collects mouse coordinates, and needs to move the image to each set of coordinates in order. My co-developer insists that it needs to be done with trigonometry.Or is there some simpler method to move an image/movie clip/etc. cleanly to a given position on the stage?
