I am slugging through the processing of data posted from an Flash based form. I have a dev server that uses php to process input. The php script produces the following test php file variable array:

What do all the variables sent to the server mean in this context? And, is there a tutorial focusing on form handling with Actionscript 3.0?
I've got a textfield for the user to enter their name and I want to take the users name and sent it to my server so that at the end of the game I can call the name back. (And show the user their time)The problem is that I've never done this before and haven't a clue what I need to do. I've tried creating a php doc and saved some code in that and put it in the root folder on my website but nothing :I've also had a good look at every tutorial I can find on this but they all seem to not explain the php doc very well.

Since i found an example which do not use POST or REQUEST method i dont have anymore prob. View 2 RepliesI'm now finding the great need for classes as my current project is getting quite gummed up with too much scripting in the main document. Becoming a real pain to find stuff with in my code.
So I started writing a class to takes an id passed to it from the main time line, accesses my mySql DB, pulls the related info and the processes it. What I can't seem to figure out, is how to pass a variable back to the main time line. The traces all work, so I know my class works. I've searched here and via google, but I must not be searching the right stuff because I get a lot of results with are usually very complicated questions that don't yield the answers I need.

View 4 RepliesI have an input box with a variable name. When the user enters some text and presses a button that variable is sent to a php file using the GET method. Then the info is put into a database. When I checked my database, I found that a load of styling html tags has been included. I want for my input text box to have styled text, but I don't want that styling /html tags to be sent to the php file. I know I could use strip_tags in php to get rid of the html tags, but surely there's a way of not sending the tags at all, just the text content of my variable?

We have a for loop creating text fields from arrays.
We have four arrays.
First three arrays create dynamic textfields getting their data values from a xml file.
The last array creates empty input textfields where the user enters the data.
What I'm trying to do is to send the values of these textfields to a PHP file.
The problem here is that I'm not being able to get the updated data of dynamically created input fields,which is the data that the user(visitor) enters.
P.S. : I'm using flash CS4 with action script 2.
There seems to be a problem with Firefox 2.x sending variables to PHP scripts with the LoadVars.send/POST method.

I have a class called Animal that has a method foo() and I call it out within the Animal class.

However when calling the function foo() from the superclass it traces out Animal not Cat (using a Cat object).How can I make superclass call out methods in the subclass?
two classes, both extend EventDispatcher. Static method in 1st class calls instance method in 2nd event not getting caught. [code]also, since dispatchEvent() is an instance method, is there any way of calling it without first instantiating the class? i expect not.

View 3 Repliesi created an input text box that puts the users input into a global variable, but when i test it it gives me not only what i have typed in but all the html formatting for the font that my input text box has on it.I only want the text that i have typed in to go into the variable but the wackload of html is going in there too. ive tried a few different things, rewriting my code, recreating the text box, changing settings, dont know what im missing.

i have an one input text box, first i type text into it and press space bar at this it will become empty and ready to accept next input from starting position, i make the text box empty by

but the cursor not set to initial position in text box it consider "" as "space" and cursor will display after one space only, i need that cursor again move to starting position..
