ActionScript 3.0 :: When A Smaller Image Is Loaded The Big One Stays Behind For One Slide More
May 9, 2010
I'm using some action script code for a slide. The problem is that when a smaller image is loaded, the big one stays behind for one slide more. Maybe this happens with all slides but is only visible when a smaller one is loaded... What could be done? The code is:
I found this really neat photo gallery on flashkit but there is no support or readme included. how to size this thing.. the AS code does have comments but I am not a coder.I'd like to make the image window smaller and the overall movie smaller. 325x325 or so
I created a simple mouseover (like this one http:url... )with one small image that grows to a LARGER image directly on top of the smaller image when mouse is OVER the smaller image. When user mouses OVER the smaller image the larger image appears correctly.Problem is that even when user mouses OVER the "boundries" of where the LARGER image WILL appear, that also causes larger image to appear. What I want is for the larger image to appear ONLY when mouse is OVER the smaller image.
i have a mc with instance name "preload" on the first frame of the main timeline, with a movie clip instace "numbers" inside that, which contains 100 frames, with text 1-100, masking a gradiant. on the preload mc i have the following code:
ActionScript Code: onClipEvent (enterFrame) { var bytes = _root.getBytesTotal();[code].....
which goes to the 2nd frame once loaded marvelously... but it just stays at 1% the whole time until loaded... i keep tweaking it but no improvement.
The whole problem is in the title. I have a gallery which looks a lot like coverflow. Each button in it loads a new gallery which is a swf with a new XML. The Problem is it only works on the first time i click on a button. The XML does not renew when i click on another button. It does load the new XML.
When I load a .swf into a target movie that I have on my main page, it is all wrong, the slider menu that I have loading into the target movie, does not stay inside target and it seems to reposition the slider menu to the x psotion of my main movie How can I fix this, so the slider menu in the swf stays inside the target movie when loaded?
FLA file is too large to attach, if needed I can attach it in pieces.
I'm trying to change the size of a 20 pixel by 20 pixel square. I have instances of this same class all throughout my code, and I can change them with scaleX and scaleY, no problem. But these particular instances do not change visually. Using a debugger, I can go in and see that the code is running, their scaleX and width properties are changing to what I'm setting them to. But visually, on the screen, they don't change by one pixel.
I have used this slideshow for few projects and all I've done in the past is import new images (about 100k) and publish. The image are bit map of type (png) not big about 100k size.
Without saving the file I do a "test movie". Instead of doing the slideshow it displays the first image but doesn't loop through the rest.
I'm at a bit at a lost here. The path to the image in bitmap properties on the origanal file in imported is relative but when I select a new image its full path.
ive seen this done before but i dont know the code, i want to have an image that is moved with the arrows decrease in size as the y value gets lower...so kinda like a 3d type of deal so the farther back you go the smaller you are...

I'm fairly new to ActionScript 3.0 so forgive me if this question is easy, but I'm having issues with my portfolio slideshow. I have a few thumbnails and when you click on one the image slides in from the right. That part is fine. What I really want is for the user to click on a different random thumbnail and have the current image slide out as the new image slides in. My code so far:
I made an SWF file (say X) and I have loaded this SWF file into another FLA file (say Y). With help from this forum, I got to do what I wanted - when I click on a button on the FLA file (Y), the SWF (X) shrinks to a smaller size (about half the size) and when I click on that same button again, X enlarges back to the original size. I acomplished this with tweenlite. THe SWF (X) has a slideshow of images. Now, when the SWF (X) shrinks to a smaller size, the images look very distorted and text in the images are not readable (although the text is large enough to be clearly visible).
I'm trying to create a movie clip with images that will slide from one image to another using next and previous buttons. I want a sliding effect. For example on this site: [URL] The right side large image you can slide the image by using the arrows. That's exactly what I want...but in flash.
I found this really neat photo gallery on flashkit but there is no support or readme included. Hoping one of you actionscript gurus can sort through the AS and how to size this thing.. the AS code does have comments but I am not a coder. I made a movie with 3 slide shows on Level_0. Those slideshows are .swf files that are loaded into blank movie clips on the stage. Each .swf that is loaded into the file is a dynamically loaded .jpg slide show. Everything is working great, except that I want the 3 slide shows to pause when the user presses a button.
I'm trying to figure out the best code to limit the number of photos loaded into my slide show. Say I want to limit it to 50 pictures. I'm loading pictures into an array and want to stop at 50. Below part of the code.
ActionScript Code: // this frame is for loading pictures into an array noPics.visible = false;
I'm trying to create a basic slideshow in which the viewer uses buttons to advance through the slides/images. After I click the button to move to the second image, the button no longer works to advance to the next photo. Unfortunately Flash doesn't display an error message so I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I'm guessing that since I'm an ActionScript newbie it's something relatively simple that I'm missing. [code]...
I want to develop a system in which all the images present in a particular directory gets scrolled from right to left automatically. [URL] for reference My email is [URL]
I am just new to Flash CS4, recently trying to add a slide show in my webpage, with the function of click on any of the images in the slide show, that will bring me to another webpage. The flash file will be inside a html pages manage by Adobe Contribute.
I have already build a one layer with 10 images slide show, but have no idea to add the function of clicking on any images to bring to another website, can anyone give me a hand on this.
I have an image slide show that was created in Flash CS3 with a fade transition. I want to slow down the slide show so the pictures display longer. Is there an easier way to change the speed of the slide show other than dragging each frame on the time line?I dragged each frame 20 frames longer and it's not working for me. It seems as though some images display much longer than other.
under the image is a grey bar that has to resize to every new image width.i found this kind of effect on this very nice site of a german photographeri would like to implement this into my designhowever ... how do you make this kind of thing?i tried to make it by making some changes to a script i found a kirupa, but ... i don't get the right result
I can go forward and then go back to the first image without a problem, but whenever I stop on the frame where the movie clip is, first image in the sequence is always white.I've been ever the code repeatedly, completely replaced movie clip, no alpha applied, etc.
i want to make another mod to kirupa's xml gallery.i also noticed that on a mac when it is on the server, the image doesn't fade in unless it has already been viewed.i'm trying to make the images slide in from the right when the next button is clicked.it would be awesome if the previous one moved out of the way to the left as the next one slid in but i have no idea how to achieve that.
function loadXML(loaded) { if (loaded) { xmlNode = this.firstChild;[code]....
I am using currentSlide.gotoNextSlide to change between slides, however I can't make it stop playback on load of each slide.I have a motion tween with I need to NOT play automatically when the slide loads... but no matter how many iterations of stop(), gotoAndStop(), etc I use, nothing will stop the clip from playing when it is loaded!
I'm trying create a simple image slide show using the MovieClipLoader and setInterval, and I can't get a reference back to my dynamic MC logo containers.
