Actionscript 3.0 :: Moveable / Clickable Seekbar In Lessons That Scrubs Main Timeline

I have an elearning course that I make flash lessons for and, surprise!!! I am new with AS3. I use a moveable/clickable seekbar in the lessons that scrubs the main timeline. The problem I am having is that I am not able to put my script into custom classes due to my skill level, so I put my AS3 code into the timeline as I do my timeline animations. AS3 code only runs when the first frame is entered, if that frame is skipped with the seek bar then that code is not ran. I have AS3 code that runs my template controls - seek/scrubber bar, volume, mute etc. that loads on first frame of project after preloader, but I use AS3 code throughout the timeline for some tweens, user interactions, links etc.. How can I combine usage of the seek/scrub bar with AS3 code in the timeline?

I have slider that sits on my root timeline and controls the timeline of a movieclip sitting on it. The user can drag the scrubber controls to move the movie around as it is playing, and it progresses along the bar on its own. However, the issue I am having is that when the user drags the bar (in either direction) the actions that are on the frames that they scrub past never happen. Is there a way to be sure that if the user scrubs forward along the timeline, that these actions happen?
Also, say they get to the end and rewind back to the beginning, is there a way to reset the actions so that they can see everything again? and I hope this made sense. EDIT: Anyone? Also, I forgot to mention: this is in AS2.

I have a timeline that contains a video track and an audio track. I have created a working play button and pause button, but cannot get a seek bar or volume control to work. I cannot use ActionScript 3.0 because I have the video embedded into the timeline since I have hotspots throughout the video. How can I create a seek bar using behaviors/actions with actionscrip 2.0 to control the video/audio?

I have the seek bar component on my stage and need to be able to use it to seek through the timeline just like any other video player. However, I am not using this to control a FLV movie, but just need it to control where I can seek through my animation.

I have a client who wants me to create a flash presentation (interactive - non-video) and they want the presentation to contain a standard seekbar and volume control at the bottom (as you would see when watching a video) but in my case these controls will not be controlling a video, they will instead allow you to scrub through the playback timeline and control the volume of audio in the timeline.

My big question is how to access the instance of the "SeekBarHandle" of the seekbar component which is created at runtime? I have a AS3 project (flashplayer 9) with a FLVPlayback component and custom FLV controls, partially build from standard FLV control components (play/pause component, stop component, seekbar component, volumecontrol component). The FLV control components are added at 'root' level of the project. What I'm trying to do is to switch the visiblity of the custom FLV controls where the seekbar and volumebar are the party poopers because of the on runtime created handle bars.
I read many many threads about people trying to access the instances of the handle bars but for the most of us out there with no luck. I know that the instance of the handle bar is created at the same level as the instance of the seekbar component but I can't trace/access/find the instance of the handle bar. NOTE: I don't want to add the seekbar component to a container mc/sprite because of the changing width of the seekbar. When I do it's disformed because by the scaling of the parent.

Just got started with Flash again after several years of not using it. I am familiar with the layout when I set it to "classic" but for some reason I can see the timeline area, but it is grey and I cannot create any frames or click anything in that area.

I have a file comprised of 1 scene and two movie clips. The clips are instanced into the Main Timeline and occupy Frames 1 and 2 respectively.MovieClip1 is an animation that has navigation buttons that appear at the end of the clip. I'm trying to get mouse click navigation to make Frame 2 on the Main Timeline active.
Here is what I'm trying but it is not working:

I'm having some problem with the workflow of flash.I make web banners everyday att my work att it is important to me to have the banners easy structured so I can copy effects, tweens and symbols to a new banner. I have Flash CS3 pro.I always start by making a symbols. And then in the symbols own timeline I make the animation or effect.
The big problem I'm having is when I have the main (scene1) timeline with many frames, and then have symbols on that timeline, with it's own timeline with some frames. The frames in the symbol timeline is okey, but at the main timeline the frames is too short or too long so the animation of the symbol cuts of early or it plays more than one time (too many frames).
How do I calculate how long a symbols timeline should be so It maches the main timeline?What happens to me is that I always have to adjust the symbols timeline and the main timeline, and this I have to do many times.

I have a main.fla which has 3 movieclips inside it. All 3 mc's have timelines that run 40 frames. The main.fla timeline has each mc instance on a frame. mc_1 is on frame 1 mc_2 is on frame 40 mc_3 is on frame 81 as the main timeline plays the clips each one fades to the other. I need to know how to target this scenerio after mc_3 plays I need to have a goToAndplay (20) set up so the animation inside mc_1 starts playing (frame 20) of mc_1.

I am trying to "gotoAndStop" on a frame in a nested timeline from the main timeline, but can't seem to figure out the correct way to write it with it's 'parents' etc... this is how I have tried which makes sense to me (have tried other ways too) but no success.

I have an MC that is a giant text box that contains 20different items laid out vertically, like this for example:ABCDEetcI want to make the list infinitely moveable/draggabl on itsy position, meaning the user can drag this list up and down but thelist never ends.....In other words when the user drags to the lastitem in the list, the list, the list starts over again. And thesame works in the reverse; if the user is dragging up and gets tothe first item, the last item pops up after and then goes inreverse. In other words no ending. Think The Price Is Right Wheelor the alram clock on the iPhone or iPod touch.

I'm having trouble figuring out how to make a static mask with dynamic content (as in a picture you can zoom/pan) in ActionScript. I've seen a lot of the opposite (see here), where you have static content (like an image) and a dynamic mask on top that you can manipulate. I would like to do the opposite - have a static mask (set at some size at some area) with dynamic content underneath. So for example, a user could zoom in/drag around some content, and the display size wouldn't change, while the content would move. You could imagine Google Maps being confined to a smaller square and being able to zoom in/manipulate the map through that square, and have whitespace outside of that square.
