I've been making a Flash animation in AS3 for quite some time now and I'm just about finished, except whenever I go to test it, it will always stop at a certain point. First of all, I definitely do NOT have a stop script there. It's 27 scenes long. It will always stop roughly 11 minutes and 10 seconds in. Why does it do this?

I'm working on a really simple game to learn AS3 and I've got the controls down, but don't know how to change the animation of the player instance. I have movieclips for different animations, which I assume I should, but don't know how to switch the instance's appearance between them.

I have created a movieclip1 :head, a second movieclip: body
created a movieclip that uses head and body and called that player.
And I create a simple moving animation : works great !

When I uncomment trace this.alpha = 1 the ANIMATION IS STOPPED.

I want the animation (shooting star) to play at random times.
What I have is a ninja star that spins around and moves based on the accelerometer of your phone. I created a balloon popping animation and have it all working well. The problem is that as of right now I can either have it be static and animate once the ninja star hits it, or I can have it randomly move and then play the animation which is not what I want. I want it like this: When the ninja star hits the balloon, the animation of it popping plays. And then once the animation is complete, then I want it to randomly move to a new position on the stage. (so the user can hit it again, and so forth...)

My goal is to get a single stroke to animate randomly every time I open the animation. My code seems to be creating a new strokes during the animation causing them to stack on top of each other. This animation would work if only the previous stroke did not multiply.

View 1 RepliesSo I have a text which is saying for instance "hello". And when i press a button there is an animation which starts to erase the "hello" text and a pencil is writing a second text. So somewhere in the middle there is a blank text holder( i mean the place where the text is suppose to be)! The question is - is there a way with code when the animation have reached a certain frame to change the text because i can't do it with animation!

View 1 RepliesI've created a text object, writing let's say "HELLO". I then made it into a picture, and erased parts of the text, all the while taking frame captures (F6). It ended up looking great, even though I had 900+ frames. However, I now want to change the font colour...in each of the frames. Any easy way to accomplish this, I cannot go frame by frame. The object is in the same place each time, so if I could just put a mask on all the frames or something to change the colour to black, that would be sweet. I followed this tutorial [URL].
View 4 RepliesWell the animation works okay despite the convoluted timeline. You can select any transfer case mode by moving the slider switch. To shift into neutral from any gear, you press the neutral (N) button. To exit neutral, you press the neutral button again. If you shift into N from either 4WD Auto or 4WD Low, the slider switch jumps to 2WD even though there should be no movement and the animation goes where it is supposed to. It's been a long time since I've been able to work in Flash and it's so close to complete that this is driving me nuts.

View 3 RepliesI am looking to create the appearance of a shape being drawn. I need a few shapes, but for the example think of a simple U. I have tried several different approaches. First, I tried a shape tween at 45 degree increments. That was a wrong approach. Then I tried using After Effects, but the movies lacked flexibility and were laggy. Currently I am building the shapes using two shape tween MCs(an arc that goes 11.25 degrees and a line that goes 21px), and repeating it.
This seems to be working, but is very tedious, and lacks flexibility. i.e. if I decided I want the shape just a bit shorter I have to remove the MC incident from every frame. Also I have no possiblity of changing the speed without completely rebuilding the shape becasue I'm doing a frame by frame animation.
Onmy stage I have a MC, and when I click it a random MC from the Library should appear and move around randomly.

I made an animation in Flash which I want to embed in Flex using SWFloader.
I've imported the tweener class (caurina.transitions.*) to tween a rotation. The animation runs perfectly in Flash.
However, when I embed the animation in Flex, the tweening is gone.
Do I need to import the tweener class in Flex?
I use Flash Player 10 (latest version), Flash CS4 Professional version 10.0.02, IE8 and Flex Builder 3.
I have a certain set of motion twains that I've successfuly completed, they constantly loop right now (default), and is saved in the SWF file.I'd like to take that finished looping animation, and insert it within another animation (a) that can be played with a play button, and stopped/resetted with a stop button.How do I insert the completed looping animation into the main animation? And is there something special I have to do in the actionscript of the start and stop buttons so that the "inner" looping animation will start and stop with the "outer" main animation?

View 2 RepliesI am workijg on creating an animaton it is 300 mb in file size and i am running windows 7. i have also tryed working on windows xp and the same problem happens.
what happens is that i could be drawing or copying a layer that i need to work with and flash will think for a little bit and then crash says that an unexpected error has occured and all i get is an error excption. i am running CS4 on windows 7 with 5gb of ram.
In the car game i am working on, I now got a point system set up so the car hits different items and the points rise but i want the items to appear in random places instead of 1 place only

Over all, all layers have a total of 3 frames. 1 key frame i believe and the other two are normal frames.
All I get is an error box saying: "Unexpected file format." Everything was going fine until I did some simple action (removing a few frames I believe), then Flash crashed and I haven't been able to reopen the file since. It opens other .flas just fine. I rebooted, but to no avail.
View 1 RepliesWe have hooked up a Kinect to Flash and using it to control an avatar inside Flash, then we added another player in the Kinect and control the avatar using both players. One arm and one leg each. Now the problem comes. We want to mix it up during a game we are making. So, we need a function on a timer that randomly selects an arm and a leg from each player. But we gotta be sure that we don't get both arms/legs from one player or vice versa.We thought about using the Array and using several math functions in order to get the final result, but I was hoping there was a better way?[code]
View 1 RepliesI've 3 movieclip on stage which is mc1,mc2,mc3 at first they are alpha=0 What I want is when i click on revealBtn, 1 of them will show up as alpha=1.
But with my code below, sometimes I need to click about 5 times or more only can make all those mc show up.
Is there any solution for what I wanted?

Note: I am only using the Flash animation in IE only as I created an equivalent, jQuery based animation for all other browsers (because, surprise, IE didn't handle the jQuery version).look at this in IE only.The Problemhen you hover over the dropdown menus, the Flash animation temporarily "freezes" and the continues. This causes choppy behavior in the Flash animation.
