ActionScript 2.0 :: Changing Preloader (Status Bar) For MovieClip With Animation?

I have a dynamic xml gallery with a crossfade effect between images; works fine, but I want change the preloader (a satus bar) for a movie clip with an animation. The code of the gallery is:

I just want to ask something about the preloader when it load. For example I made an animation for my preloader and when my page is loaded for, 20%, I want the animation to change and the same thing happen when it's loaded 40%, 60% until 100%.

I have an external video that I have attached through NetStream and it works okay, however I have another one that is longer and not working at all. That file is set up exactly the same as the one that is working, so I don't know what's wrong with it other than perhaps the file is too large to handle that way?

i got this script out of a flash MX book but it doesnt seem to be working. i'm trying to create a preloader with a simple status bar that loads a scene within the same file. the scene does end up loading. but the status bar just says "100% completed" the whole time its loading the scene. is there a flaw in the script or an i doing something else wrong?

preloader bar is exactly 100px and works correctly with the percentage value I had a little mess around with changing the preloaders width value to 200and it only displayed half of the preloader.I was just wondering HOw would I change the code so that I can Have a Preloaderthat is customable to my design. e.g say if my preloader is 150 px long how wouldI make it work in relation to a percentage value.THE CODE

I have an enemy movieclip.Inside that movieclip I have a motion tween so it moves around on the stage, then inside that movie clip I have an animation of his feet moving so it looks like he is walking as he moves across the stage. Also in that same animation of him walking is an image of him laying down and dying on frame 6.I just have the walking animation looping as the playhead gets to frame 5 so it won't show him dying.So what I want to know is how do I make it so when my hero shoots him with a bullet..the enemy goes to that dying image on frame 6 and stop.I can already make it so the bullet will kill an enemy if it is just movieclip>inside movieclip.But I don't know how to make the code communicate to make it work when its movieclip>inside movieclip>then inside that movieclip.

Why is that when I change the paths of my external files(file.swf) that the preloader doesn't show up? It only shows up when the external files are loaded from a web address.

I'm confused about changing an instance's animation. I'm working on a really simple game to learn AS3 and I've got the controls down, but don't know how to change the animation of the player instance. So I have a text which is saying for instance "hello". And when i press a button there is an animation which starts to erase the "hello" text and a pencil is writing a second text. So somewhere in the middle there is a blank text holder( i mean the place where the text is suppose to be)! The question is - is there a way with code when the animation have reached a certain frame to change the text because i can't do it with animation!

I would ideally like this to run during the preloader sequence, but when that didn't seem to work, I figured I would just have it run before the preloader. Unfortunately, even though it works fine on it's own, it will not work when I place it within my website file. I originally had it contianed within a movie clip, and again, it would work okay in a separate file, once I added it to my website file, it stopped working, but I'm still not getting any errors. how to get it to move somehow, even if it has to happen before or even after the preloader?

I've created a text object, writing let's say "HELLO". I then made it into a picture, and erased parts of the text, all the while taking frame captures (F6). It ended up looking great, even though I had 900+ frames. However, I now want to change the font colour...in each of the frames. Any easy way to accomplish this, I cannot go frame by frame. The object is in the same place each time, so if I could just put a mask on all the frames or something to change the colour to black, that would be sweet. I followed this tutorial [URL].

Well the animation works okay despite the convoluted timeline. You can select any transfer case mode by moving the slider switch. To shift into neutral from any gear, you press the neutral (N) button. To exit neutral, you press the neutral button again. If you shift into N from either 4WD Auto or 4WD Low, the slider switch jumps to 2WD even though there should be no movement and the animation goes where it is supposed to. It's been a long time since I've been able to work in Flash and it's so close to complete that this is driving me nuts.

I wish to build a preloader with some percentage animated movieclips alongside a percentage text.I post an example of where I am so far. I made two movieclips with things happening every 20 frames up to 100 frames. I wish to turn this into a percentage logic so that the actionscript makes my MC moves to the next 20 frames every 20%. See what I mean?

I'm a french Webdesigner and I've a little problem to make a website in Flash. First, I make a preloader "simple_preloader.swf" to load the website "Easy.swf" but in fact the preloader doesn't work. I use an URLloader because with this component the different Tween start when the website is completely loaded.

let's see if I can make this comprehensible. I have a template with an xml dynamic menu. When a button is pushed two movie clips are loaded: 1) a main clip, which has a Kirupa designed preloader taking up the first two frames and 2) a movie clip that contains "controls" (interactivity or animation) for the main clip. All worked great until I added the preloader. Now both movie clips load but the controls no longer act correctly. Do I have to tell the controls to jump to the third frame of the main clip or something because the preloader takes up the first two frames?

In my SWF I have two scenes. A preloader Scene and the actual scene where the magic happens...
I have made all the graphics for the preloader. It's my logo which is unmasking as the loading progress. The animated mask is keyframed, as the logo is abit complex.

After reading some articles about increasing performance, I read that if you would cache your movieclip animation to a sequence of bitmaps, that this would be much faster. So after spending lots of hours I created a bitmap animation class that converts a movieclip to a bitmapanimation.When I completed it, and did a performance test with about 40 movieclips on a stage size of (1024x900) and set the frameRate to 100 fpsIt runned on 58 frames per second. (30 mb memory) But when I tested it without converting it to bitmaps by doing it the old and simple way of adding the movieclip dynamically on the stage withalso 40 movieclips, it runned even better (61 fps). (4mb) And it did not use so much memory as the bitmap approach was doing.
Then I thought perhaps I was doing something wrong with convertinh to Bitmaps, and found on the internet also a Bitmap Animation Class, and after testing this one, I got the same result. It seems to run faster if you don't convert it to a bitmap sequence.I only have experienced negative points, like slower framerates, using more memory, and the prerendering causes a calculation performance pause when compileing. (this is even with the fix to pass the already rendered frames of the movieclip to the next bitmap animatioin class) I am now confused of what is the best way of creating better pefromance when using the same movieclip animation (like 80 times at once).
