View 1 RepliesI've got an XML document that holds the info for a Press section I'm doing for a client. The XML holds the path to a thumbnail, the headline text and a link to the original article. I'm having no problem getting the thumbnails to load in and the headline was a breeze too. Put them both in holders so I could position them later. My trouble comes when I try to pass the link attributes to a button that also gets attached to each press clipping. I can trace out the link array that I create to hold my XML data but when I try to pass it to a getURL function inside a button in the same For loop "i" is never passed.

I would like to attach a sound to a .fla file that starts to play when the file is opened. I have created a button and would like to be able to use this button for a visitor to the site to mute the sound. So, I'm trying to accomplish two things, first attach a .wav file, then get the mute button to work.

how to load photos from a XML file into flash. I have a movieclip (called PhotoMC) that has two layers, bottom layer is a square(is a graphic). Top layer is a blank MovieClip where I would like to place the image loaded from XML. I'm trying to have the movie clip(PhotoMC) load for each jpg in my xml. So basically a movieClip will be attached to the jpeg.

I was wondering about MC and hey can help to lag a game out. I set up an advanced class system so i don't have to use MC to simulate walls, all i use isthe x,y,width and height. Well anyway since i don't need MC anymore I was wondering if there is a way to attach Graphics instead of MC cause a Graphics file size is relatively small than that of a graphic, I think. If anyone could tell me thats true and show me a way to attach graphics that would be nice. I haven't tried it yet but maybe if I exported the graphic from the library imihgt be able to call its name, but it doesn't have an instance name so im stuck.

All I'm trying to do is have a text box display a link and then click on the link to go to the site.
Now, everything is working as far as display, but when I try to pass the targeted (clicked) link to navigateToURL, it is null.
