ActionScript 3.0 :: XML - Attach File To Rean In Thumb Nail Images?

at the moment the menu buttons, called 'menu Items+ Number' I would like to replace this with thumb nail images and a little text description on the left side of the image. I am new to AS3 and really have no idea where to start with this.would someone beable to guide me through attaching an xml file with the script to the menu and then adding thumb nail images.I can not upload file example as to large but you can download the original menu from the above link.
What I want to accomplish is to have a up and down scroll w/ thumb images. Once you press on a image the thumb gets bigger and have the option to close the big image and back to all the thumbs..
Using a bunch of the tutorials on this great site, I've been teaching myself AS, and inparticular the XML parse, etc. with the loop commands to load an ideterminate number of images, etc. attributed in an XML file.I've got the attached code to work before - and it works well here too, loading all the thumbnails in their correct location, and as per the XML file. BUT now it's part of this page, the 'current_thumb' seems stuck on the last thumbnail, and a rollOver of any thumbnail will cause only the last one to action. In addition, when I put the trace command in on the onRollOut function (trace(current_thumb_mc) I get "_level0.menu_mc.item3_mc" no matter which of the four tumbnails I rollOver.

how to action script a photogallery using xml in a flash file which works fine. However I need the thumbnails to be stacked vertically not horizontally. Is there a way to add code to do this?Here is a sample of the current actionscripting code:

I would like to attach a sound to a .fla file that starts to play when the file is opened. how to load photos from a XML file into flash. I have a movieclip (called PhotoMC) that has two layers, bottom layer is a square(is a graphic). Top layer is a blank MovieClip where I would like to place the image loaded from XML. I'm trying to have the movie clip(PhotoMC) load for each jpg in my xml. So basically a movieClip will be attached to the jpeg.

I am sending out a standalone player that uses an xml driven image gallery. I need to prevent changes to the xml file to stop images being added to the gallery. I can can password protect the xml file to prevent changes, but I also wondered if there was a way to validate the authenticity of the xml file from within Flash to prevent the entire file being replaced?

I'm building a flash movie for something at work and im loading in some images using an XML file but when i use a preloader it only preloads the XML file (as in just the text inside) and not the images.
This causes the movie to start playing without having the images loaded.Does anyone have any ideas about how i could get it to preload the contents/images being called in the XML file so it doesn't run as soon as the XML file is loaded.

I was wondering about MC and hey can help to lag a game out. I set up an advanced class system so i don't have to use MC to simulate walls, all i use isthe x,y,width and height. Well anyway since i don't need MC anymore I was wondering if there is a way to attach Graphics instead of MC cause a Graphics file size is relatively small than that of a graphic, I think. If anyone could tell me thats true and show me a way to attach graphics that would be nice. I haven't tried it yet but maybe if I exported the graphic from the library imihgt be able to call its name, but it doesn't have an instance name so im stuck.
Why doesn't this code go through the XML file in order? It should go through the XML file and display the images/comments as they are ordered in the XML file.

In my project we needed to make the scollbars look like Windows scrollbars.
Therefore I have a thumbIcon on the thumb of a vertical scrollbar, but if I get too many items in the combobox, the scrollbar gets fiddly. This is because the margin between the thumbIcon and the border of the thumbSkin is too small.
Is there a way to set the minimum height of the thumbSkin so that I can ensure there is always a margin there and it always looks good, even if there are too many items?
