FLVPalyback Seek Not Working Http Stream?
Jun 6, 2009
Using the FLVPlayback skins in CS4 (ActionScript 2.0). When I play the swf and the video is local, everything works great. When I switch everything to stream from http server, everything works except the seek bar handle doesn't move as the movie plays. It just stays at the beginning. I can manually move the seek bar handle and it does scrub the video but when I stop, the movie will play from that location and the seek bar handle just sits where I left it.

I am developing a audio player in flex. I need a seekbar kind of like on youtube's video player. To implement the basic seek functionality the HSlider component is enough. But I also want to show the stream progress on the seek bar. (youtube colors the already streamed part of the seekbar red). Is there a way I can achieve the same? drag and drop audio player component with play/pause and seek functionality.

i am wondering is it possible to get embeded timecode from HTTP Stream?Flash Media Live Encoder contains a special built-in handler, onFI, that subscribing clients can use in their ActionScript code to access timecode information. The following client-side ActionScript code shows how to get timecode information using the onFI handler. The object ns is the NetStream object. You can get timecode and system date and time information, if timecode and system date and time were embedded in the stream, by accessing the tc, sd, and st properties of the info object that is passed as an argument to onFI():i am using this onFI method succesfully with netStream object when i am getting stream from RTMP.is it possible to get somehow same results with HTTP Streaming (f4m and osmf)

I am using actionscript engine to upload a file, the engine will select the file and send the file over network thru HTTP POST command, the document says the POST message is like:[code]In server side I have a C++ program listens on port 80 and parse the POST message. I only want the file name and file data. How to decode the file data using c++, is it base64 encoded and is there a library can do it for me? I want to decode the binary, and write it to the file.

When working with MOV files using the h.264 codec and AAC sound I am unable to get netStream.seek to work correctly. No matter what argument I pass to netStream.seek it will always seek to 0. I have this problem on both a legacy as2 and a newer as3 video player I have built. Regular flvs work perfectly on both players.

I'm trying to stream live video for the first time. I've installed FMIS 3.5 without Apache 2.2. I'm confused on the RTMP/HTTP protocol usage,I can only have port 80 opened on our FMIS 3.5 box.

As seen the tutorial [URL].. I have successfully implimented the steps. However the problem comes when the stream is disconnected and reconnected again due to network problems. Once the stream is reconnected the video stops coming, even though all 3 streams are succesfully publishing the stream to Flash Media Server but on the client side where I'm using OSMF media player the stream gets stops. Is there any setting that I need to impliment in the OSMF player to resolve this issue ?

I am implementing a video player in Actionscript and I need to be able to define the starting play time for the videos. Netstream.seek(pos) works for flv files but fails for H.264 files (the player starts playing the video from the beginning). Anyone knows what might be the problem? (I am using Netstream for this instead of adding a parameter with the starting time when I call the Netstream.play method because I don't have Flash Media Server).

if I repeat this IIS topic, I couldn't find the answer to my problem any where on the internet. I installed FMS Dev 3.5 on Win 2003 Server with IIS 6.0 enabled. I don't have any issue with port 80 Listening, I used the IP address 192.168.0.21 for my web application (IIS) and 192.168.0.22 for FMS (I only have one network card and port 1935 is open under firewall). I can play the sample videos (RTMP, HTTP, and Dynamic Stream) using the Flash Media Start Screen (or from the location C: Program FilesAdobe Flash Media Server 3.5webrootindex.html) without any problem.
I then modified the IIS Default Website to look at the "webroot" folder (C: Program FilesAdobe Flash Media Server 3.5webroot). From IE, I can access the default web site by enter http://192.168.0.21/index.html. The website loads up correctly, and the RTMP video is playing perfectly. However, if I click Play Video (HTTP) or Dynamic Stream (tab), I receive "Connection Error. Please press Play to try again." I look at the log file (access.01.log) and see the error log "Session disconnect

'URL missing from Media tag' on FMS4.5 HTTP Live Stream playback.I have spent a whole day trying in vain to publish f4m live http streams from FMLE using FMS 4.5, and almost everything I try results in the error .The F4M document contains errors URL missing from Media tag...in both Flash Media Playback and the fms videoPlayer app.Other people seem to have seen this and solved it, but I've found nothing that helps. I have tried to publish a single stream, and with multiple bitrates. For the latter, I followed the Adobe video tutorial as follows:

I'm using FMS Streaming 3.5.0 r405 on linux servers to stream videos with RTMP/RTMPT. We have decided to use the new proxying function to redirect HTTP requests to a Web server. We did not install the included Apache server, but used a lighttpd server installed on the same machines and configured to listen on port 81. So when a client connects with our player, it tries first RTMP, RTMPT and if it times out on these attemps, we try to go through with HTTP. FMS proxies the HTTP request received on port 80 to the lighttpd server on port 81.
My fms.ini file contains: # Whether to start and stop the included HTTP server along# with FMS.#SERVER.HTTPD_ENABLED = false
# IP (address and) port that Flash Media Server should proxy# unknown HTTP requests to. Leave empty to disable proxying.# With no address, specifies a localhost port.# For example:# HTTPPROXY.HOST = webfarm.example.com:80#HTTPPROXY.HOST = :81
This works well, but after a few hours, the HTTP proxy of FMS does not work anymore. Lighttpd is still responding on port 81. There is no error in all log files. Just stops working! I have to restart FMS to enable again the tunnel. This behavior happens on all my streamers.

I have a HD Camera streaming a live feed through FME 2.5 to FMS 3.0 using the VP6 codec and it works fine. I have now been trying to get the same stream running via H.264 and althogh FME 2.5 connects to the FMS 3.0 server and the stream starts with FMS 3.0 reporting the stream no problem. The Client application crerated with Captivate 3 using Flash Player 9 for publishing no longer dispays the video. Switching back to VP6 works again.

when trying to play the MP3 stream of the URL "[add_http_://]radiow.cld.3qsdn.com/stream01" with ActionScript 3 it only "stutters" and sounds horrible, but it works perfectly with ActionScript 2.I'm using following Code in ActionScript 2:
ActionScript Code:
coolTune = new Sound(soundLoader);
coolTune.loadSound("[add_http_://]radiow.cld.3qsdn.com/stream01", true);
=> This works perfectly - no problems.
But when using this code together with ActionScript 3:
ActionScript Code:
var coolTune:Sound = new flash.media.Sound (new URLRequest("[add_http_://]radiow.cld.3qsdn.com/stream01"));
coolTune.play();
=> It sounds really horrible.
It is a normal MP3 stream (128 Kbps) that works perfectly with any other player (like WinAMP, VLC, Windows Media Player, ...).

I watched two videos by Jody Bleyle:
1. [URL]
2. [URL]
In Video 1, she shows how to stream a single file. I've done everything to the letter on this video, however, when she uses the videoplayer to reference the livestream.f4m file, there is none. I've actually checked the folder location(apploications/livepkgr/streams/_definst_/livestream and there are files in there (.f4f and .f4x), but no .f4m which is the file she references in the video player.
In Video 2, she shows how to create a multi-bitrate video stream. Using the manifest packager and creating a .f4m and .m3u8 package and placing it in the webroot folder. Here is the contents of my liveevent.f4m file:

Just like the title says I am using Flash Media Live Encoder and I have three streams. The encoder is sending the streams just fine but I am not sure how to deliver it to the client. The only one that shows up is "livestream1". "Livestream2" and "Livestream3" won't even come up.

i was modified the main.asc script in livepkgr, it used to call s.play(streamObj.name), which i assume this is the code it play the stream from FMLE to s.play("FileName") , which is a flv video file in my application. unfortunately when i start the FMLE stream to the FMS and watch the stream with the FMS Sample Video player, i was expecting to see the video content from the flv, but instead the camera footage in playing on the player.
i am very confusing now, i thought the s.play the only code to control what should be playing in application. or when FMLE is connected to server, the server must play the footage from FMLE by some hidden code, no matter what s.play wanna to play?

Only just getting started on this whole domain of learning, so go easy!If I set up a P2P video/audio chat (similar to the sample VideoPhone thing on the Cirrus site), can I get the stream from both parties to send to a server at the same time so that I can record it? If so, would I have to use a FMS to stream it to and perform the recording (and if so which version could I get away with)? Are there any (preferably free, or just tutorialised) solutions for the recording side of things?
Currently it seems like the only option for doing the P2P thing is to use Stratus/Cirrus unless I use FMS4 Enterprise.
how effective this kind of situation can be, in terms of quality of the stream and recording? Does any of this make sense?

I've had FMS running on my local machine for a while and have had a little experience writing FMS apps, but I've just tried recording audio for the first time using the standard vod application and I keep getting a "Write access denied for stream" error. My AS3 code is copied and pasted for various examples and am confident that it works.
I'm running Windows XP service pack 3 & FMIS 3.5.
I've had a look at the vod/media directory and under windows->properties the read-only attribute is ticked. Every time I un-tick this it reverts back to being ticked. I've googled this and MS say that most programs ignore the read-only attribute and that it only really applied to files. I've also tried the MS fix for setting the read-only attribute via cmd and still no joy (doesn't fix read-only attribute or FMS recording the audio after setting via cmd).
I've also tried our dev server install of FMS (running under linux) and am getting the same results.
Here's my AS3 code...
private function initApp(event:Event):void
{
removeEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE,initApp);
[Code].....
