FLVPlayback Causing Slideshow To Loop Uncontrollably?
Jul 3, 2009
I can't seem to figure out how to get my slideshow to stop looping after I imported an external video. It will no longer stop at frame one, it simply plays all the way through the frames with no pause even though I have a stop(); on each frame.
The file functions properly until I added the FLVPlayback component. It was looping even when the FLVPlayback component was in the library and exported for actionscript and in frame 1. After unchecking these boxes it won't loop, however that all changes as soon as I drag an instance of the component on stage or inside a movie clip on stage.
The flash presentation I'm working on is designed so 1 frame is one slide and I need the video to be playable from 1 slide (frame). Even after placing stop actions everywhere I could think of it still loops straight through with the FLVPlayback component.

Im using hitTestObject to start a mc playing, but it continues to loop even though there is a stop(); on its last frame.
]Code]...
The mc "rolly" is the one being looped. Its animation is within itself (hope that makes sense) it is not looping the main timeline.

I have posted this question recently and I am desperate for a solution. I have a pre-loader which is causing a continuous loop.
On frame 1, I have:
totalK = getBytesTotal()/1000;
loadedK = getBytesLoaded()/1000;
remainingK = totalK-loadedK;

I have some simple code:
function testing(){
for (a=1; a<=4; a++) {
this["btn"+a].enabled = true;
}
}
If i run this function from anywhere it works fine. If i run this function from myTimer = setInteval(testing, 3000); it will not work. If i add other random code into the function it (the newly added code only) will work. So i have narrowed it down to something about this["btn"+a].enabled = true; specifically that is causing it to not run.I really hope this makes sense, appologies, it's 3am :

A script on my page is causing an infinite loop in FireFox. Here is the Javascript:
function expandMothersRings(new_height) {
window.scrollTo(0, 0);
$('#mr-container').animate({
height: new_height
}, 100, function() {
// Animation complete.
});}
This is being called via ExternalInterface from a Flex object:
var tiles_height:Number = 175+Math.ceil(MothersRingData.getInstance().styleArrayCollection.length/4)*175;
ExternalInterface.call("expandMothersRings", tiles_height + 300);
There is no issue in IE or Chrome. But for some reason the expandMothersRings function is infinitely looping in FF. The flex object is not expecting any return value from Javascript. Also if I change the JS function to look like:
function expandMothersRings(new_height) {
alert(new_height);
}
Then it only executes once. So something in the function is causing it to loop in Firefox.

I've been working on an AS3 project. One of my classes in this project is a collision object that extends MovieClip. It is used to be placed in other movie clips as hitboxes.My problem with the code lies in its hittest function. Occasionally, it causes an infinite loop that crashes the program. Flash tells me the problem lies with the getBounds function, but I don't understand why that is so. Can anyone tell me what might be wrong with it?
Code:
public function HitTest(other:CollisionShape,offsetX:Number = 0,offsetY:Number = 0):Boolean {

I have this script that creates a Tiltviewer effect and it works perfectly as long as you're on the page. However, if you switch focus to another browser window or tab, it begins to spin wildly and even takes a while to recover when the user comes back to the page.
ActionScript Code:
/* ---------- PV3D ---------- */
import org.papervision3d.events.InteractiveScene3DEvent;
import org.papervision3d.materials.BitmapMaterial;

On very slow machines (>p200Mhz) I sometimes get an error that says "A script in the movie is causing macromedia flash player 6 to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?" Yes, No.
I have a loop function that populates a listbox, sometimes the file it loops from is over 2000 lines, and takes a long time for the listbox to populate. In this time I get the error. If I hit No on the error everything works just fine. I am almost for sure there is no problem with my script, flash just thinks the loop is set to infinity or something and pops open the error box.

Everything I've tried so far with a FLVPlayback component to seemlessly loop a progressively-downloaded 15 second video has failed. There's always a split-second pause when it's time to loop. For the scenario, embedding video in a flash project is not an option, and the split-second pause is unacceptable. I've tried setting autorewind to true and handling autorewind event fired by FLVplayback. I've tried watching the playhead of the flvplayer for when It gets upwards of 99.5 percent done and seeking to 0. My latest solution involves having two VideoPlayer instances with the same source behind the FLVPlayback component and toggling between them when it's time to loop, and there is still a seem between the end and beginning. I've tested the video in quicktime to make sure it's not an artifact of the video.

I'm a flash newbie and have created a slideshow so that all the photos fade in and fade out. I've done it so they kind of fade into each other. So the timelines on each layer overlap. I want this slideshow running as a continuous loop so I've put a gotoandPlay(1) function at the end of the movie. My problem is the final image (number7) fades out but I don't know how to get it fading into the first photo again. So after the 7th image (the 2 bridesmaids) the movie completely fades out and then starts again. Is there a way I could make the first and last photos fade into each other rather than the last one fading out and starting again. The movie can be viewed here- sorry it takes a little time to get to the last image! [URL].

I want to trim a sound and then let it loop in a slideshow. The sound -- a roaring crowd at a soccer game-- should loop as a slideshow plays. As the movie repeats the sound should continue to play. It doesn't have to be in sync.
This works if I use Streaming, but there's a gap at the beginning of the movie as if the sound was being loaded over and over again.
I've been advised not to use Streaming, but if I don't, the sound is reproduced in its entirety-- there is no trimming.

I've got an interesting issue with the actionscript in my file. I've created a slide show with 27 labeled frames - they've been labeled "frame 1", "frame 2", "frame 3", etc... My issue is the first time everything works perfectly, if you hit next or previous. It goes to the correct frame. On the last frame if you click next it should take you back to "frame 1" and basically loop through all the frames again if you keep pressing next. The problem is it goes back to frame 1, and then next doesn't work on this frame. I don't understand what's going on considering the first time around - these frames work perfectly.Here's the code on frame 1:

I have just recently returned to flash after a very looooooooong time! I moved out of the flash world a few years ago and have been working in design for print. A friend has asked me to help create a flash slideshow for them. I know how to do this using older versions of flash but there seems to be a quicker way in CS3.I have selected from the opening menu, Flash Slide Presentation.I have created my slideshow and added transitions.Everything looks great however I can only progress the slideshow using the arrow keys.My question is...Using this slideshow setting can I set my slideshow to loop through the slides automatically instead of progress with the arrow keys?

I have attached a video on a frame of my website in Flash. When I preview the movie the film plays as it should.But when I export the Fla. as a Swf. file it then doesn't have the movie there anymore?It does show this error:
**Warning** The linkage identifier 'FLVPlayback' was already assigned to the symbol 'Video/FLVPlayback', and cannot be assigned to the symbol 'FLVPlayback', since linkage identifiers must be unique.
I really don't know what that refers too.

I have created a pie preloader(preloader.zip) which is working fine. Same preloader I am trying to incorporate in a xml based slideshow(slideshow.zip) to show image loading process but some how I got stuck. I am new to flash. Suggestions are welcome.
1. How to solve the problem of preloader2. Is it possible to integrate everything in a movie clip (including AS). I mean no AS on main time line but inside the movie clip. It would be much easier then to to create multiple slideshows by duplicating mc and changing the xml file.

I have a menu I'm building in Flash, the version with no animations can be seen at [URL]. I'm trying to make the block of text on the left tween in from the left. That block of text is a movie clip made up of three dynamic text boxes. Each text box reads in a variable from a text file. Ideally, what I want to do is have the tweening in the movie clip. However, when I add in a keyframe at any point in the movie clip, the dynamic text will display and animate up to that point and then disappear. Also, to mkae things more annoying, only the first of the three blocks will move at all. I can change the alpha or whatever I want to on that first one, but the others seem to be off limits. Could this be due to the fact that I set the second and third blocks to be just below the title block in action script? Does that interfere with tweening?

I have this code:
<script>
function cargar(url){
var iframe = $('<iframe>');[code]....
That generates an iframe (containing a panorama viewer with JavaScript and Flash) and inserts it in a div.The thing is that this code, in local, Firebug jumps:
Elemento referenciado por ID/NAME en el ámbito global. Use el estándar del W3C document.getElementById() en su lugar.Element referenced by ID / NAME in global scope. Use the W3C standard document.getElementById () instead.And online it doesn't jump any error or warning but the script doesn't fully work: http:[url]... (the controls are missing and the autoplay is not ON)
