Flash - Access Methods Of MovieClip Inside ScrollPane?

I'm using a movieClip inside a ScrollPane to show a list of CheckBoxes. The amount of CheckBoxes shown is dynamic, it depends on a SQL query. After the query is done, I add as many CheckBoxes as rows in the result set. What I am trying to do is to access some methods I wrote in the MovieClip inside the ScrollPane to get the length of the CheckBoxes, check which ones are selected and the label they have (their label is also defined by the SQL query).
I've tried this
valueINeedToGet = Object(root).scrollPaneInstance.source.functionINeedToRun();
But it returns error #1006
How can I access the code inside the MovieClip inside the ScrollPane?

I have a ScrollPane component to stage and I give it as source a new MovieClip instance. How can I access the movieclip inside scrollpane? This is what I have so far but it returns null:

Let's say I have a FLA file with document class called main. In main, let's say I have a method called test1 that just outputs "hello world" via trace. On the FLA I have a movie clip. In that movie clip, when the timeline reaches frame 123, I want it to invoke the test1 method (I just set up a simple action on the frame). However, I get an error saying that the method is undefined. I try this.parent.test1() too but that gives me the same error. Is it not possible to invoke a document class property from within the timeline of a movie clip that's on the stage?

I'm a beginner actionscripter, so I hope you will take that into account when replying. The problem I am having is that a client has asked me to place a call to action button inside a textbox that scrolls. My idea was to create a movieclip containing the text and the button, then place that movieclip inside a scroll pane. I've been monkeying around with it all day and have made minimal headway. I'm not even sure of the best way to accomplish this.
If one of you learned actionscripters out there could point me in the right direction, perhaps I can find my own solution. The client wants me to use custom icons for the scrollbars, and as altering a scrollbar component seems like such a PIA, I'm trying to avoid using components.

How do I access the methods of a dynamically created movieclip/object?
For simplicity sake I didn't post code on how I dynamically created the movieclip. Instead, assume its already created. It is an object. It is called field_2. Below it is referenced by using getChildByName('field_' + field.id);

I have a MC that is too tall for my stage and want to place it inside a ScrollPane. The probelm is accessing functions inside the MC. I have tried scrollpane.content.mc.function but that doesn't work. How do you access a mc inside tghe scrollpane?

how to build a button inside a movieclip. I have a template that has movieclips within movieclips, and when I create a button (all using AS2) the button will work if I test the scene, but in the whole flash movie it does not work. I also have some buttons located inside a ScrollPane that also do not call correctly.
For my button I am using this code:

I am using a ScrollPane that I want users to be able to scroll by clicking andywhere inside it. I have set up the pane like this:

I go on to show a few different SWFs on the source movieclip. These SWFs are spaced vertically by about 80 pixels each inside the clip. The scroll dragging is working fine when you click on one of these SWFs, however, it does not scroll if you hit the vertical space in between items. Is there a way to allow the scroll drag to work no matter where inside the scrollpane (or movieclip) the user clicks? I would rather not have to fill the empty vertical spaces with some blank SWF, or make the others have a greater height.

I have the content of a scrollpane that, when clicked, show a tooltip movieclip with attachMovieClip; the problem is that the attached movie clip, for the first rows, goes under the border of the ScrollPane and is partially invisible.
Is there a way to solve this problem (without changing the position of the attached movie clip?)

I've basicly made a rollover menu which is nested inside a movieclip. the movieclip is put on 1 st. frame on the main timeline and I want the buttons inside the movie clip to take the user to a different frame on the main timeline, but no matter what I do it's just not working... here is some of he solutions i have tried to do:

I can't acces my MC that was created inside my class. 've got a MC "bttn" on my stage, if u create an instance of the BttnClass a copy of the MCbttn is made and given an other position, than I want to play the bttn's(contains multiple frames) and NOTHING happens. The Bttn's are copied,but I can't play them. So my class works but how can I play my buttons?

Assume on root i have a movie clip called table then inside table i have a movie clip called foot.
normally if i need to set foot's alpha to zero i can just do
table.root.alpha=0 from the main timeline it should work ok
but this works only as long as i have foot in the first frame of the movie clip table, if i have foot movie clip in lets say frame 100 apearing and not apearing in the first frame of table then i cant access property of foot from the root
unless the movie clip plays and reach the instance where foot is defined.

Now one of the functionality that's added to the player is the "Transcript Button", which shows subtitles in a small window.Well, what I've done is added text on keyFrames of the main timeline,so if the audio says "Hello good evening, welcome,....", I've made a new layer above the audio layer and during that particular part of audio I've added the text on the new layer in a keyFrame.I've done this for the entire timeline.I've used enterFrame and accessed this String value and displayed it in the small window.Everything seems to work well.But if a certain movieClip popup is added on the timeLine, which has its own audio.o necessarily I'll have to add the text to this movieClip as well, but I cant access the text, i.e, display it in the small window.Also I've tried using a global variable like this,...
