Flash Gallery Website Won't "refresh" When Changed?

I've got [what I think is] a pretty simple question, I'm not not too familiar with how it works... I've got a domain name that currently points to a .swf flash gallery on my webserver [URL]. To clarify, the domain name itself is simply pointing to the location of the flash gallery hosted on my other site...so it looks like: [URL] The flash gallery itself just reads data from an XML file on where the images and thumbnails are stored, etc.
I just updated the gallery today, adding pictures that I had taken over the past weekend. While I've uploaded all the images/thumbnails, when I visit the site in my browser (Firefox), it still comes up as the old gallery, without the additions I added today. However, if I visit it in IE (and several of my friends have visited it on their PCs and told me the same thing), they are able to see the new albums and images. So I'm thinking this has something to do with a browser cache not refreshing it properly or something? I've tried Ctrl+F5ing the page to reload it completely, but the new images and albums still aren't there.

I had an issue with my index.html testing on IE and the preloader just stalls on "loading 0%". he told me that locally the progress event doesn't have time to load and to try uploading it to your server and see if it works. It worked just fine. Rah Rah Kglad.
So today I'm fine tuning the swf/ fla to clean it up. Reduced some picture sizes and deleted unused files and reduced the swf from 4000 KB to 350 KB Rah Rah Gene. replaced the swf in Dreamweaver and re-uploaded with Filezilla. Rah ah Filezilla.
Everything working great and my preload went from 23 seconds to less than 3. So I'm real happy except for one small issue. Firefox and IE both do this. If I hit the refresh button, it stalls on "loading 0%" once again just like it did locally.
If I hit the refresh several times it WILL refresh randomly....2 times refresh......10 times refresh etc.

Spoke to my hosting company who said everything seems fine on the server. BTW he said Chrome did NOT have this issue Rah Rah Chrome.

I am working on a prototype or proof of concept for my company to adopt Flash as an alternative rather than conventional HTML. I've created my demo XML file locally and followed instructions on a YouTube video (yeah I'm that new) and it all works as it should. The problem is this... I have been looking literrally for hours for a way to get my Flash file to update when the XML gets changed. Either on the fly or via some sort of timer/auto-refresh. I simply cannot wrap my head around it.

I have Xml Flash website but it is done in FlashMx with a Publish settings of Actionscript 1.0 and Flash Player 6 . Now I have a flv player component I want to embedd it inside my xml flash project, It says you need a higher publish settings to enable that flv component. ok fine Now i have changed the Publish settings to Flash Player 8 . When I run the movie Flv component is working but the xml flash website has been disappeared only blankscreen .

My site is [URL]. It has an index page to start which then, when clicked, takes you to the flash page. The trouble is that sometimes it doesn't load until the refresh button is pressed.

I have a photo gallery that runs in a container, which is added to the stage like so:

I want to have it set up so when you click on a "gallery" button, it reloads/refreshes the gallery to its initial state, because the "internal" navigation of the gallery isn't very intuitive...and so the only thing I can think of is essentially to remove the gallery and re-add it, whenever "gallery" button is clicked, which resets the gallery to its initial thumbnail view. I've tried fumbling around with removeChild, addChild, simple if statements, etc.

So I have a Flash CS3 based website and I am trying to add in a Flash Gallery.I designed the Flash Gallery as a seperate file and tried to copy the library items into my site file. I got it in, looked ok but when I ran the test it goes crazy and I get 7 actionsript

I have created a flash file that allows you to click on a thumbnail image and larger image appears ontop of a tshirt. The same way as a gallery would work. The images and thumbnails are pulled in through xml. However I have a problem, I need the images that appear on the tshirts to be .png files or gif files as the tshirt colour can be changed. At the moment my flash file will only display jpegs! I dont knwo why. The jpegs leave me with a white background, so I need the transparency of a png/gif. My actionscript is:

I am trying to make a Image Gallery for my website, I have a limited space to work with.
I am looking at doing it in Javascript but thought I could do the same thing in Flash. (maybe :P)
This is the Javascript idea.
Basically I would want it to be the same as this but the size i want instead of a small one like that.
As I have a limited space I dont want small thumbnails for people to click on and then have the larger view updated.
I would also want the controls and description to be viable all the time minus the play / pause button.
Is this possible? If so how can I do it? Is their already something out that will do this?
If possible I would like to have it database driven (the images and the description) to make it easier so I dont have to keep manually updating the flash.
Also can it be friendly to both Portrait and Landscape images?
and last but not least (and not necessary) can the images then beable to be clicked on and open up to full size ...

I have built a website for a photo gallery and have added the deep link architecture only after the website is built, so the whole site is kind of cripple... The path to each photo is by clicking buttons in the following order Menu->Submenu->Photo I have designate a link for each photo. The site works properly if I try to reach the photo by clicking button in the above order. However, if I try to access a photo by typing the direct link to it, the photo cannot be displayed coz the swf of the menu and submenu, which are triggered by a button click, is not loaded yet.
The current architecture of my site is that when ever the menu button is clicked a new submenu class will be initiated, so the loading of the submenu class only happens when the menu button is clicked. The following site is an example the way I want to make my site to be : [URL] I could access any image on my site by typing a direct link and the swf could be loaded.

I made a flash website for a non-profit organization and it needs to have a photo gallery inside of it. It needs to have 3 categories with about 20 pictures in each category; the pictures are of different sizes.

I am reasonable new to flash and I'm trying to create a image gallery for my website. The gallery has thumbnails along the side and when ever you click on one the corresponding image slides in to the center stage. I'll post the code I have so far then explain what keeps going wrong.......

I'm relatively new to Flash and AS3. I've created a website thats a dynamic photo gallery. The site is self-contained (no scrolbars) and I want the frame work of the gallery to draw itself in as the page loads. The frame work is just simple lines and drawing objects on the maintimeline. Do i combine the lines (the "frame work") into a mc and then somehow use the deco tool? How can I acheive this in action script?

And just loved the way it looked, anyone have any idea how to get a similar effect using ideally CSS/JS and if not then using flash? Furthermore it would be excellent if you could move to the next slide by clicking on the image itself.I'm also wondering how she is able to maintain height of the images when resizing (unless she is doing it manually which I doubt now days).

I have this PHP that constantly changes an XML.
So... I'm asking, is there an eventlistener in flash that instantly detects change in XML?
What I do currently is to just load the XML again and again and check if something has changed. BUT it takes about half a second to load the XML again (not from cache).

I have an if/else statement which checks the length of my current title, and then is suppose to change the defaultTextFormat of the title textField and set the text. Currently the title will not show up now, no matter what character length the title is, any thoughts on what I could be doing wrong here?

I have a class Grid which produces a graph paper like grid on in the drawing area. I then have 5 other classes for different shapes to draw with; Line, Polygon, Ellipse, Curve, Arc Now, these 5 classes use an instance of Grid because Grid has a resolution and a scale. Inside Grid I have:

I'm just lost for a solution on how to update every instance of my 5 drawing classes when Grid is changed.For instance, Polygon is made up of multiple instances of Line, Line(length, angle) where "length" is in either in, ft, cm, or m. If the user wishes to change the scale from say 10ft per 100px resolution to 20ft per 80px.. Is there an easier way than re-drawing every Line inside Polygon?

I've succesfully loaded and parsed this XML file, using XMLParser and AS2:

Now, what I need, is to increase and store the "like" and "dislike" values with the click of a button, but I don't know how to modify and store them in the existing nodes (eg., without adding new ones).Do I need to use PHP, or can AS2 handle it by itself?

My coder developed this online game using silverlight but due to having to download the silverlight software (which is a pain) I am thinking of converting to flash... my coder said it is just too difficult to do.

Should I just stick with silverlight? Is it too difficult to get it recoded into flash?

Not sure if I'm missing sth or is it just a bug. I have a movieclip on stage, it's a simple rectangle drawn with a rect tool (no stroke) I add an event listener to trace out the mouseX, works OK so far. When I increase its width the mouseX traces wrong values. Here's a sample code:
