i ve put flash(1000x900) into html file and test it. Everything works fine except when my mouse pointer is over flash area or i click on some button iniside flash it wont scroll up or down, and when i am outside flash area it scrolls normal. In FF works great but in in IE does not work. This is very annoying beacose you have yo click outside flash everytime if you want to scroll. I am working with cs4 AS 2.0 and i try to export movies into flash 9 and flash 10 but it is the same problem.
was able to make it scroll with the location of the mouse but with the buttons working now. Each img has a rollover and i can't seem to get into it i just wonder if its the coding
I tried to do text scrolling in AS3. Unfortunately, I cannot figure out how to do the slider part.below is the actionscript and attached is the FLA and SWF files.
var rect:Shape = new Shape(); rect.graphics.lineStyle(1, 0xffff0000); rect.graphics.beginFill(0xff00ff00);
I'm working on an AIR for iOS iPad scrolling menu with "kinetic" interaction. I'm trying to emulate as closely as I can the behavior of native components. To that end, I've had to forgo the traditional startDrag() method because of the peculiarities of the native UIScrollView. The reason startDrag() won't work for me is that when you drag the menu past its upper or lower scrolling threshold you encounter resistance, that is, the effect of your mouse/finger on the scroll/dragging of the menu is cut in half. Inside either threshold, if you move your finger a pixel the menu moves a pixel. Beyond either threshold, when you move your finger two pixels the menu only moves one because of the a .5 resistance multiplier. As far as I know, startDrag() doesn't account for any of that.
This is a repost, but I've still not figured out a solution. I have a Flash movie that appears on a webpage. The Flash contains scrolling content ( scrollpane, text field, whatever).
The containing webpage is tall, and therefore also has scrollbars. My Problem: When users try to use the MouseWheel to scroll through my Flash scrolling data, the browser page scrolls as well. It's very annoying.
I would like to be able to have the MouseWheel scroll my Flash scrolling content when it's over the flash, but scroll the webpage when it's not over the Flash.
Does anybody know a way to supress wheel-based browser page-scrolling while my mouse is over a Flash movie??? Is there a way to eat/stop propagation, whatever, of the wheel event in the brwoser, either from Flash or from Javascript?
I have a spark List with an item renderer and a tile layout. If I scroll by clicking with the mouse on the scroll bar and trying to scroll with the mouse wheel after that, there is a problem: The interval of the scrolling is oversized, instead of scrolling one item down (or up) the List scrolls 4 items down (or up).
Im making a scrollable mc. Easiest thing in the world.... but the damn scoller just will not stop when the movie clip it's scrolling ends. It stops....eventully... but not close enough. What actionscript do I need to use and where do I put it?
I have created a vertical menu that scrolls through menu items in a movie clip.There is a big white gap when the movie clip runs out, and it snaps back to the beginning.I would like it to scroll seamlessly, having the end join up with the beginning again without any space.I would like it to scroll to one end of the list and STOP, and scroll back the other way and STOP - without any white space.URL...
I have been working on a site that will display a portfolio for a friend of mine who is a photographer. I want to have thumbnails that can be scrolled on the bottom of the page, and an area where the thumbnail is presented when selected. I have the thumbnails appearing. I have them loading, however, I can't get them to scroll when the mouse moves to the left or right of the row of images. he file can be viewed at...[URL] Here is the code I used for the slideshow:
I'm making a platform for a client, the designer is creating the levels, atfer few tiles ... he is not able to scroll, he has to select all the clips and push em back with shift+left arrow ... Where is another way of working ?
I can get the text to scroll fine in Flash. But when I select the up arrow to go to the top of the scroll box there is a extra large gap. How do I set the script so the text stops right at the top?
I have a flash website and after I load the page the scroll works very good. After I click on another page inside the flash the scroll stop working unless I click outside the flash content. How can i make it work every time even if the mouse is over the flash content. I don't know very well to work in flash.
I have developed a rolling credits style movieclip in Flash using Actionscript 2. Text is loaded from an XML file and parsed into a dynamic textfield. This text includes hyperlinks to webpages defined by a url node in the xml so Flash can add the appropriate a href to the dynamic text field and make the link clickable.
In my first attempts to do this the textfield stayed still and all the links worked fine both testing locally and when I run it in a browser on my website.Then I wanted to make things move ... which I achieved easily enough and tested locally (from within Flash Professional) and the links remained clickable, a browser window opened and the webpage i was expecting to see opened... great
However, when I export the swf, upload it and run it from my website suddenly the links are not working. So I tried to test the movie in a browser from Flash Pro - same problem, it must be something to do with Flash Player and the moving dynamic textfield.
a couple of observations - the cursor will change to a hand icon when over the links as you would expect, and if I right click on the link and click open in a new window the link works ok, just not when I left click. If I stop the scrolling then the links become clickable again, it is only when the textfield is moving... actually its not technically scrolling, im moving the whole textfield.
I did a xml image gallery, with buttons for each image (using the duplicateMovieClip function + a for loop).Now i went to next step, I need to make a scroll for the menu, BUT, i don't have any idea how to set something to happen after the for loop is done.
My code so far:
Code: stop(); var yPos = -10; var depthCount = 1;
[code]....
Just for a simple test (since i noticed what i tried wasn't working well), I added a test movie clip and added a _visibile = false to be executed, i added it right after the closing of the for loop. I didn't had sucess thou, it happened before the loop .
I don't do much flash but can sort of get myself around. I'm having issues with a classic tween in CS4. I have a jpeg of magazine covers inside an MC that repeats a scrolling left movement. The client has commented that it comes across a little jerky and isn't smooth enough.
I'm a newbie web designer, and am working on a client's flash-run website, which is powered by a 3rd party template she gave me. I've done most of the text changing work, and I've uploaded the website at [URL] In the SERVICES page, there's a text area [left-top], which scrolls to a certain point and then stops at the line "VLCC". In the .fla file, there is text for at least another 20-30 lines below. how do I make the scroll work to its full length.
I have a TextArea control, and sliding the scrollbar all the way down always doesn't show all the text.I think it has something to do with me changing the typeface, because I noticed that when I do the setStyle to change the textFormat style, the textHeight value doesn't change.Has anyone ran into something like this? can I at least access the TextArea sources so I can fix this? Or is there a way to don't know, subclass it and fix it kinda easily?you can check it here: http:/[url].... if you see the scrolling texts, you can try scrolling all the way down, and then selecting the text and pulling farther down, sometimes it'll show more text. Sorry about the spanish.This is an example of a text that usually fails to scroll all the way down[code]..........
how to make a scrolling text box with inertia...I know there are many out there but the problem is the only ones I can find have inertia applied after you lift your finger off the button...which leads to jerky movement if you are scrolling a small section. The desired effect is like the scrolling text boxes used in www.fontsforflash.com.(they have developed a component...not good if you want to customize the look of the scroll bar) [URL].... provides an open source version of this movie clip but it again is not so easily customizable.There has got to be someone talented enough to do this and provide a tutorial for the rest of us..
I have read all over the internet, but could not find any solution.I have large bitmap background (800X600), which I need to scroll. When I scroll it, it becomes "jumpy", pixels shifts, all lookes blurred.I've tried dozens of stuff:Playing with pixelSnapping.Setting cahes. Blitting Bitmap firstly.Adding smooth.Cutting background into small 100X100 pieces and putting them together.Setting crazy FPS.using scrollRectAnd all different combinations.Am I trying to do something unavailable from start? Is flash rastor enginze that limited, that my only choice is to use vector graphics for scrolling smoothly
You may have noticed my post yesterday. Well I'm almost done with the little project. I've got a TLF text field with a custom scroll bar AND some buttons attached to it so I'm feeling pretty slick. Unfortunately, I just dont have enough knowledge to make the buttons interact with the scroll bar (as we see in the browser scroll bars or the UIScrollBar)
So I can scroll away AND I can click the buttons to make the text roll. but the buttons don't affect the position of the scroller and that just isn't good enough! If you would care to have a peek and see inside the mind of a newbie I've attached my FLA file and pasted the AC code below. how to make the scroller interact with my buttons.
I'm trying to make a game where the character stays in the middle of the screen and the background scrolls as the arrow keys are pressed.
I've got it moving fine, but the background scrolls off the stage when you reach the edge. The background's bigger than the stage. I want to stop the background moving before this happens.
When i scroll the scrollBar in Flash the browser is scrolling too. What i need is to stop scrolling the browser and scroll only the flash box. And the Browser have to scroll only then when the flash scrollbar is in end.
