I'm making a platform for a client, the designer is creating the levels, atfer few tiles ... he is not able to scroll, he has to select all the clips and push em back with shift+left arrow ... Where is another way of working ?
I'm a newbie web designer, and am working on a client's flash-run website, which is powered by a 3rd party template she gave me. I've done most of the text changing work, and I've uploaded the website at [URL] In the SERVICES page, there's a text area [left-top], which scrolls to a certain point and then stops at the line "VLCC". In the .fla file, there is text for at least another 20-30 lines below. how do I make the scroll work to its full length.
Today one of our artists started experiencing a crash in Flash CS4 Professional when scrolling the workspace around in one of his .fla files. All he has to do is hold down the spacebar and scroll around with the mouse; or use the scrollbars to scroll around. It has crashed about 10 times in the last hour, and we copied the file over to another machine and saw the crash there as well. We've only seen it occur with one particular file.
The machines are both Intel Core i7 machines with 8GB of RAM and two different video cards, one running Windows 7 and the other running Vista; and the crashes cause the Adobe "let me report this crash to the mothership" dialog box, so I don't think it's video card driver related; I think it's just a bug in Flash Professional. We're running version 10.0.2 with no updates available to Flash Professional when choosing "Updates..." from menu.
I'm looking for tutorials that show how to create scrolling content in flash, but instead of an auto scroll, I would like to click and drag the content.Similar to the link below.
I am a complete newbie to Flash. I'm tyring to build a scrolling text box that automatically scrolls. On mouse over, I want the scrolling to stop so users can click on an item in the text box. All of the items will be tied to external hyperlinks. I want to populate the text box with an external file. I've done some searches on Adobe, but haven't found anything that takes me through the whole process.I have the complete Adobe Master Collection. So if this is easier in Flash Catalyst, let me know. I know how to buid a manual scroll box in Flash Catalyst. Could I export this to and add the auto-scrolling?
Have been trying out flash on iPhone and am wondering how i would make it so datagrids and lists are scrollable with your finger like they are on native apps? I need to be able to scroll with flick of a finger and also select an item when u tap one. Is there any information out there about this?
I made a website in Flash CS3. I published the file into html format. Now when I open the html file in a web browser I cannot use my mouse wheel to scroll the page up nor down. However the browser's scroll bar allows me to scroll up and down and i can scroll the page up and down if I place my mouse to the left side of the page where the page shows the background color of my flash document's stage. I want to be able to scroll using my mouse wherever the mouse is located on the website. Details about my flash file are as follows:
- It contains only Action script 2.0 coding. - the layout is made out of movie clip and button symbols. - i used a scrollPane component for one of my text and image contents. - I used a UIscrollbar component for all the text inside my image gallery (which is a movie clip containing the scrollable text areas) I am including below the coding formats used for buttons in my file in hopes that it provides clues to the scrolling error :
For my college project I've created buttons were when you roll over images they are enlarged. The problem I have is when I roll over the images, the one next to the one I want shows in front of the image that I'm scrolling over with the mouse. I want it so that the image being rolled over is in front. For example when the magazine article on the far left is enlarged it goes behind the logos next to it instead of in front so you can see clearly what's being scrolled.
This is a repost, but I've still not figured out a solution. I have a Flash movie that appears on a webpage. The Flash contains scrolling content ( scrollpane, text field, whatever).
The containing webpage is tall, and therefore also has scrollbars. My Problem: When users try to use the MouseWheel to scroll through my Flash scrolling data, the browser page scrolls as well. It's very annoying.
I would like to be able to have the MouseWheel scroll my Flash scrolling content when it's over the flash, but scroll the webpage when it's not over the Flash.
Does anybody know a way to supress wheel-based browser page-scrolling while my mouse is over a Flash movie??? Is there a way to eat/stop propagation, whatever, of the wheel event in the brwoser, either from Flash or from Javascript?
I created a movie clip that has an image on every frame. I'd like to create a scroll bar for simple and easy veiwing of the images. But I don't want a typical scroll like a UIscroll component, because I don't want the images to flow together. I just want to jump from image to image.
I have a client who wants a home page similar to the way this one operates: http:[url]... It contains 10 images that are on a steady horizontal scroll that repeats. The images seem to be at about 50% opacity and they increase to 100% upon rollover. The images don't need to link to different pages. The way this one works would be fine, just all leading to another gallery page that gives more info.how I can achieve this type of look thru Flash? I have done some browsing online but most tutorials I've found are more like viewers where the user has arrows to scroll forward and back. This one is different, just sort of operates on its own....like walking by and window shopping for my client's products.
I'm pretty new to Flash, and having a few problems with a website I've had to design for my college ICT course.I built the site entirely in Flash, which went perfectly, then went on to build a scrolling image gallery banner for use on a gallery page of the site (assuming that it would be an easy task to chop the banner into the website). When I've tried importing the file to the stage/library it leaves all the images behind (as they are in the library of the first file) as well as the actionscript required to call the images; leaving me with just a new, blank layer.I've also tried copying the actionscript code into the website document and transferring the images from the gallery library to the website library, however, the gallery is written so that the stage is used in its entirety to show only a certain amount of images, meaning that the proportions of the banner are all wrong on the website file.Is there any way to integrate the flash file for the gallery into a confined area of the stage in the website document, or am I going to have to alter my designs so that the gallery goes entirely across the page (put up and shut up style).
Attatched are download links to the two files in question, sorry if they're a little on the large side.
I have several layers of scrolling BGs via action script. In between these layers are a set of simple buttons made via "button" symbols. Within the stage, the buttons are recognized, however, when I test the movie, the buttons are not recognized/activated by the cursor. My guess is that the scrolling BGs that are on top of everything else (NOT added via "addChild" in a blank movie clip below all other layers) are somehow "blocking" my cursor from reading the simple buttons "below" them.
For the visual aspect of the project, the scrolling BGs are needed both "below" and "above" the buttons, so I need a work-around for simple button use in this multi-level scrolling BG environment. (just to clarify, by "above" and "below" I dont mean vertically above and below, but rather "layered" above and below, so as to "cover" eachother).
I hope someone can give me some assistance. I am creating a page that I want to click on a button to bring a scrolling menu list that a html link will work from I am using Flash CS3 Pro and am trying to use AS3 for the scripting. I've not tried this before so to say it's not cooperating is an understatment. My button will not allow me to apply any actions to them. Any tuts that might show me the error of my ways (lol)
I've got a 800x600 document that has a panoramic picture scrolling horizontally and buttons in the image.
i've got this piece of code for AS2.0
[Code]...
Otherwise it is working all good, but I'd like it to stay put at the start. Right now it immidiately starts scrolling to right unless I move the mouse on top to stop it. So ye, i need to have it sitting still and only scroll when the mouse is at the edges of the document.
making a horizontal scrolling website that has to be similar to my website in that it is horizontal scrolling. i know how to do that partmy problem is simple: it doesnt let me scroll past 5000 pixels. i need to place each section 1000 pixels away from each other my last page will need to be 22000 pixels. i know that it seems a lot but that is exactly what i want.
Anyhow, I have a few buttons (six of them) to scroll from left to right non-stop via looping. Those buttons are in the up state. What I want to achieve is that when someone hovers over one of the buttons, the entire scrolling temporarily stops and perhaps the hovered button becomes larger as well. I'm sure you've seen something similar on ebay listings before shown as slideshows.
my Over buttons are managed via movie clips, but not the Up state buttons.
What is the easiest way to make scrollable text that I can set to whatever font I want (embeded of course)have it look very well anti-aliased; like most Flash text, not like it's being read out of a regular system or browser window. (the text will be big so no probs)have different portions of the text be different colors so I can highlight certain words and leave others aloneuse actionscript to load text content into itmaybe make (all) the text semi transparent for design purposesI'm going to use some action script to load some XML content into the text areas or whatever. Any of you know of any easy ways of accomplishing this? or have a link to any type of tutorial? (at least for Flash CS3 and above of course, along with ActionScript 3)
horizontally center my flash movie in browser windows. Worked swimmingly, but now realize there is no scroll functionality. I did find another code sample that allows for scrolling, but I could not make it work. Can anyone take a look at the following code and tell me what I need to do, or simply revise the code for scrolling? (Caveat: I'm a designer, not a developer, so I know nothing about HTML. Feel free to assume I'm an idiot;-)
Ive used the excellent tutorial to create a scrolling thumb panel ([URL]) It works brilliantly and I have movie thumbs linking to a flash player. It all works fine, what change the scrolling. At current it scrolls up and down according to where I have set the 'line', I would like it to scroll up and down near the top and the bottom, rather than all the time (effectively creating a dead zone in the middle). I cant figure out how to change the code to get this to behave as required.
I have a few text based pages on a site i am trying to build which contain dynamic text (contained within a database, which can be changed from elsewhere). These are loaded into a dynamic text box of a fixed size that fits within my page. This all works great. I have created two scroll movieclips (which act as buttons, one for up, one for down) which when clicked cause the textbox to scroll up or down as relevant. These work fine as well. The problem i'm having is I only want the scroll buttons to appear if they are required (ie if the text within the text field is larger than its height so you need to scroll to read it all), but i cannot work out how to find the height of the actual content (as opposed to the height of the predefined dynamic text box). I can obviously create the textbox as autosized, then find it's height, then compare it to the desired height and (if it's larger) manually change it's height and display the scroll buttons, however i cannot imagine this is the most effective way to do it at all? I'm sure there is a standard, logical way to do this but i cannot seem to find any reference to it online or in the forums, but maybe because i'm searching for the wrong thing
I'm not looking for text box scrolling!! I want the whole 'stage' / 'page' whatever its called to scroll down. I have lots off different content like text, images, animations etc on there so is this possible? I would prefer just two buttons on the side that will scroll the page up and down with as much content as I want on there.
I've found several good tutorials in AS2.0 on creating a scrolling thumbnail menu bar for adding to a photo gallery, but nothing in AS3.0. Anyone have a tutorial or code they'd like to share?
I'm creating a side scrolling presentation that has logos from different companies moving from the right to the left of the movie. The images are high resolution, but the type becomes unreadable when they are in motion. Is there a way for me to have a smooth image from beginning to end without a loss in image quality? Here is the presentation: [URL]
I am in the process of building a web site and am running into an issue with dynamic loading text.I am trying to make a scrolling news section with a stage of 200 W x 250 LCreated a movie clip with the following coding:
var myTextLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader();var myTextField_txt:TextField = new TextField();myTextField_txt.wordWrap=true; myTextLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onLoaded); function onLoaded(e:Event):void {myTextField_txt.text = e.target.data;addChild(myTextField_txt);} myTextLoader.load(new URLRequest("myText.txt"));
Then set the clip (which is 250 W x 600 L) on the main stage, moving upwards, creating the auto scroll effect. The problem I am running into is that I can't figure out how to make the text use the whole width of the text box I created. It only uses half of the width, creating columbs like this:
Hello and welcome to our new
[code]...
The text box itself is at least twice the width of the sentences, but they aren't using the full width.
