How can I implement this?
NOTE: the button's background has a gradient color.

But when I am trying to change the label text in one of my buttons the text is changing on the other button as well. I believed they where separate instances?

I'm writing a section of code which displays a series of checkboxes on the screen, but as they are placed on a dark background the default label text colour of black is no use, as they can't been seen. When I initialise them I use the line:
checkboxArray[i].setStyle("textColor", 0xFFFFFF); to set the text colour to white, but this only seems to work when the checkboxes are disabled (checkboxArray[i].enabled = false) and reverts to black again once they are enabled. I have tried including the setStyle line of code again after they have been enabled, but this doesn't make any difference.
I am building a dynamic RSS viewer in actionscript 3. I wrote a flex application to create the xml code, now I load the xml into my flash application. Now the user of my flex app can pick a color for a thread. I import this hex value into flash to assign a background color of a movieclip. The problem is that the movieclip also has dynamic text in it. With my function changeColor() I seem to be changing this font color as well. I have tried to solve it by using a TextFormat but no luck.

I'm working with an Adobe Flex project and I have data I'm plotting against a DateTimeAxis (X-axis) but because there are a lot of points, I have to do some manipulation and remove some objects in the array (I do this by copying data to another array, removing items, then copying the new array into the original array). However, sometimes after I do this, the date labels disappear off of the x-axis! Why does this happen? I look through my array and I cannot find a reason its occurring (no objects with nothing in them, everything appears in chronological order).

so, basically,i am checking to see if the cancel button component in the Child component, while i am still in the parent Compoent, was clicked, if it was clicked, call the cancelButtonHandler. The problem is by the time the addNewChild handles the event, that cancel button was still null. My question is how do i solve this without using the itemCreationPolicy on the cancel button?

How can I change the line height of a Label element in Flex?
I have two labels in a VBox and there is quite a lot of white space between them which I would like to reduce. There's no line height property and setting the height property causes overlap.
I have a problem when dealing with label component on AS3. The text was blurry on one application but not on the other. I have used the same code when dealing with the label component except the one with clear text used scaling to scale the label component and not being used on the other.

I'm trying to modify the text of a Label component that I already placed on the stage in as3. I'm having trouble getting the text to change though, it just stays the same based on the initial text I typed in. I'd like to eventually have the label contents change dynamically. When I compile the swf, the two labels have the original value I gave them when I put them on the stage, not the startDate and endDate values.

When I place the Label component on stage, and name it lowtemp_label, remove the default text value of Label and play the SWF, nothing shows up. I can change the color of the label in Flex Builder, I can even BIND the color to a variable and that works, but I can't find the Color PROPERTY in order to change or reference it programatically! What is the ActionScript 3.0 code to change the font or color of a piece of text in a Flex RIA - or is caring in what color your text appears too bizzarre a request for a RIA? I wrote whole applications after just minutes of "learning" flex, how come it's taken me three days and I still can't change the color of my stupid label?
