I have a question regarding full screen in flash. I have a movie playing in the middle of the screen and currently there are lots of colourful buttons surrounding it which hijack the viewers' focus. What I want to happen is for the screen to dim around the movie. DivX Web Player's Desktop Dimmer as see on joox.net is the exact example of what I want to happen. (where the whole screen darkens unless you move your mouse)

How do you play an out animation on the previous movie that's already loaded before the new one loads in? Without the out animation, it just replaces the currently loaded movie instantly without a natural transition

Now I want to get some extra data to load and populate the module with that data in just one request handler, something like:

I was trying to do it with AMFPHP but the ByteArray seems to be broken or something because it doesn't show up, but the rest of the data is fine:

Maybe creating a multipart response like [URL] and handling it?
I have a drop down box that is loading in different movies when selected. But when I select the second option in the drop down box, the movie gets loaded on top of the next movie. I saw that there is a removeChild(), but i'm having trouble finding where to apply it in the code below? If I put it in the function, it creates errors of course.[cod]e....

How to make POST requests from Flash/Flex?
When Flex application make an asynchronus HTTP request, does it add a special header to the request, like some JavaScript framework does? Something that indicates whether this request is an AJAX call/not.I just want my server side code to return different response format, depending on whether the request is made from browser/flex.

This POST request was sent by a Flash (.swf) object, so it's a little bit complicated in configuring the header.It does not print out anything in the end, so there must be something wrong with PHP code that I could not see.Here is what WireShark captured:

I'm trying to create a five image gallery, and when I try to add the load request for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th images I get an error message that says it doesn't recognize that request: see code below:

I would like to know how to set up the URLRequest to load an external image to a movie clip that is being used in a Drag and Drop event.I have successfully implemented the drag & drop code to my design but I would like to improve it by successfully loading external images to those objects that are being dragged around.I have both Var Load and starDrag codes. Is it possible to request some data in a Flash movie from PHP at run-time? Maybe my real-world implementation can clarify some things:
I use a Flash movie to store a Local Shared Object (because for some reason I need LSO's instead or regular PHP cookies). Now, when I load up a PHP file I want to somehow retrieve the data from the LSO at runtime, assign it to some variables, and use the variables through the rest of the script.
I know this should be do-able, but i am stumped... I created a row of movie clip buttons + eventListeners (CLICK) with a for-loop. i now want to take an array that consists of a list of swfs (i.e., var myArray:Array=new Array(); myArray=["thing.swf","dog.swf",more.swf",etc}--and programmatically assign a loader + URL request to each of the created movie clip buttons that will load the swfs on the button click.

i'm having this weird pb i don't understand, could someone help me? i'm driving crazy here..what i do is load a movie from a movie but the 2nd movie load a variable. when i test the 2nd movie, it loads its variable and displays it as wanted, but when i load it from the 1st movie, the 2nd movie loads but seem not to load anymore its variable..

I'm currently making an animation which will eventually exceed the 16,000 frame limit (don't ask haha), so, short of making two movies and having to just start up the next one, what is the code for loading a movie? I presume they need to be in the same directory? So basically all I want is on the last frame of the movie the code executes and the second movie file opens up and starts. I guess I'd want the current movie to close, too.

everything works just fine with my three dummy swf's, but when i try to load an swf file that uses some kind of animation (for example a motion tween), the swf isn't displayed any more... is there a way around this?

When I click that button, I want my opening animation which is my index.swf file to load on the stage. I used to be able to do this with a simple LoadMovie ("index.swf", 0). If u open up flashSite.fla or the swf, everything works, but when I load it into a mc container of preloaderMomSite, the animated buttons no longer work. View 5 RepliesI am pulling double duty with this question as it serves two purposes. I am developing a total flash controlled ad system for myself, but also need to use the same theory for a project for work.
Concept: I have a main movie (ad rotator system) that I then want to randomly load other swf's (individual ads) into this main swf after a set period of time. The random load I got set no problem. The problem I am having is to get it to move to the new Frame label of the main movie which then loads the smaller swfs. I am using the LoadMovie with nInterval time delay command in flash to load the movies.
