I am trying to create a slideshow that goes through the large images on it own using a timed interval and also have thumbnails of the large images that you can click on to take you directly to that image.I have create a slideshow with thumbnails that you can click on to view the large image but I want the large images to move automaticly when you start and then use the thumbnails to move between pictures

[URL] I have done everything that he says to do and I can not get it to scroll. He builds this in AS2 and I have changed my publish settings to AS2. The thing that confuses me is that he is able to get it to scroll before he puts the code in.

I'm trying to make a few modifications to the XML Slideshow; I've removed the scrolling, and would like the thumbnails to animate X position when they load; starting off stage and moving on. I'd also like a black border around the thumbs to appear on Rollover/Click...I have an idea on how this should work, but having trouble implementing it...I'm guessing I'd have to attach another movieclip behind each thumb and set visibility of that clip on rollover.

I still can not get a basic slideshow with the either thumbnails or prev/next buttons to work. It seems that every tutorial either assumes I downloaded the correct libraries or understand when they are using AS2 or AS3.point me to a "FOOL" proof tutorial or template..I understand the basic part of what is going on but do not know enough AS yet to hammer out the actions myself.

I want it to rotate thru all photos 1-6 until the user pushes any button, then the sliding will stop.This is the code I'm using:

I just completed a great tutorial on doing an xml slideshow at URL...Would love to add a timer function by adding a button called auto slide show which lets the user select it and have the slideshow automatically fade in and out all the images in the xml file. I think this could be achived using the get timer function but not quite sure how to integrate it.

Now the problem is that i can't figure out how to tell flash that if the last image is in frame how to scroll backward till it reaches the first image.It can scroll automatic forward until it reaches the last image.I can tell flash when the last image has reached te stop sliding.

I have been using the tutorial on the Photo Slideshow Using XML and Flash, and think it is fantastic. It is really clear and easy to follow. However I have encoutered three things with it. Firstly I would love to be able to add a border around each thumbnail accross the bottom, that would change color when the user rolls over the thumbnail.I would also like to be able to highlight which thumbnail is currently being shown as the top image.The third issue I have had is when a user moves the mouse to the right of the first image, it scrolls about 5 pixels to the right even though there is no other image before it.
View 1 RepliesI want to make the kirupa slideshow that loads in movieclips instead of images. This is a huge multimedia project and the movieclips will each have a lot of text and graphics in them. I want it to autoplay AND have manual controls like "back" and "next".
I'm not too familiar with autoplay, except in a timeline. How can I make this work if everything is in a movieclip on the first frame? Do I need to use the timeline or scenes or can it be done with out them?
to clarify... I have 20 buttons at the top. Clicking each one of them will open a different movieclip into an empty mc in the middle of the stage. I have back, next and autoplay buttons at the bottom. I want the user to be able to manually control the movies AND to autoplay.

I'm using the auto slideshow with xml that you guys demo on your site (which I love BTW) -I need it to stop at the end of the last slide and the demo is set up for it to loop -It looks I need to alter the parse command but I don't know how to do that - Is there an explanation on the site of how to alter the AS so the slide show will end after it runs once through all the images?

I need a few minor changes done to my site such as changing the text on the About page and also changing it so that when you view a picture in any of the galleriess the background is completely black, right now it just fades out the text and thumbnails and is not entirely black.
I have never used Flash before but am pretty good with Photoshop, Illustrator and a little bit of Dreamweaver. Would these changes be difficult for someone who has never used Flash but can pick things up fairly quickly? I have all the files for my website, any suggestions where I should look first to make the changes I require.

Adding another xml-file I have the problem,that I cannot reload(?) the thumbnails correctly.[code]Then I do not see any thumbnails,if(!) the new thumbnail list contains fewer elements than the old one and if the old thumbnail list was scrolled over the hit_right field before.It is seemingly necessary to reset the internal state of the movieclip. View 1 RepliesI need to make a XML Driven Photo slide in Flash CS5.It needs to have a Box that contains 5 Thumbnails(by XML) act as buttons.The Box sits on top of the Main photo area and shrinks (or close out) when user click its close button. And it opens out by clicking on a open button.I'm sure it can be done by using timeline, Tweening or you name it..But what about the Thumbnails that run from the XML file?Can they disappear with the Box and retrieve when it opens?[code]
View 1 RepliesAny programs out there that will automatically lip sync your animations for Flash that are available for OS X. I've found a few out there, but they're for Windows. If not, does anyone have a simple trick to make it less time consuming? I used to mess around in Flash but it's been ages. I remember essentially making each character a movie? Or was it making the mouth a movie? It ended up being that on the timeline you would just press a button and the right mouth would come up. I bet that sounds mental. Just keep in mind my Flash knowledge is super limited.

View 7 RepliesIn the new Flash CS5 Actionscript editor, there's a bug with the auto close bracket. If I have an existing pair of brackets, when I hit the Return key in the same line as the opening bracket, the editor automatically inserts a closing bracket even when it is not needed. However if I press Return on the line after the bracket, it will not close the bracket. I don't seem to experience this in Flash Builder. One possible way is to disable the auto close bracket option but I find the auto close bracket is useful despite the slight annoyance mentioned above. I expect the editor would be able to detect if there's already a closing bracket and not insert a new one.
View 1 RepliesI have an imported video on the stage and I wanted to set the autorewind parameter to True. However, when I click on the FLVPlayback component and look at the list of parameters the Autorewind is not there. I have "aligh", "autoplay", "cuepoints", etc..., no "autorewind". The video is from a flash export from Final Cut Pro (using Quicktime Conversion to create the FLV file). How do I get the autorewind to show up or am I missing something.
View 13 RepliesI can't seem to get the Flash player controls to autohide.If you mouse out of the video very slowly the flash player controls that are over the video will autohide. But if you mouse out quickly the controls stay there.

View 1 RepliesSomething is corrupt with my Flash Professional CS5 Actionscript Auto format: Comments within a block, such as ' // ' or block comments ' /* ... */ ' are tripping up the Auto Formattor, which returns this error: ' Error with autoformat near line: }'. Comments before package block don't cause an error. When I remove comments within package block, Auto format works correctly.
View 2 RepliesI started an animation in flash recently and the autosave feature was turned on. I had a good animation, but decided to play around with it a bit. After a little while, I decided to call it a night and exited the program making sure NOT to save my work. Upon opening that file the next time, I come to find out that Flash has autosaved my file while I was playing around. Now I have a worthless animation, and have to start from scratch. Is there any way to revert to a previous save, or autosave at this point, or am I about to do a lot of work again?
