Nothing has changed, no editing was done, and all of a sudden, buttons not working. I trued exporting from Flash again, with the same pblish settings. Bit Action Script seems to give me a message now saying it wont export as a button. Tried AS 2.0 and 3.0, but i made original files in 3.0
View 6 RepliesI've changed nothing that I know of in making flash slideshows using swish and exporting to .swf format for inclusion in Dreamweaver except that now all of a sudden the flash item has a white background -- but only on my computer it seems when testing online; locally, it doesn't do that when testing and when using a different computer it doesn't do that. Any idea why a flash item would have a white background in some cases and not in others like that?
Like I said, I've changed nothing and have never had to put any parameters in place or do anything else of the kind; the swish program itself specifies the background as red, not transparent (not that the page the flash item is on has a white page anyway). I don't know if this is a swish, flash, dreamweaver problem or some bug on my particular computer that I can't figure out.
ive made a simple button that sends you to the first frame. and its working good but than when i duplicate it only 1 button works i got 33 buttons and only one of them is working....
View 4 RepliesI've created a banner and made the whole area clickable with an invisible button. But there's one small element in that banner I'd like to give a roll over state for extra fun. This element doesn't need a link hooked to it just to change colour when moused over. When I put the invisible button on top, it blocks the element on top the invisible button is not working either. Since it's a banner I have the document set up in as2.
View 4 RepliesI'm updating my website and my menu buttons have an animation on the mouseOver. A simple animated button with the "Up", "Over", "Down" and "Hit" keyframes.
www.brenda-nies.com will show the effect of my menu buttons and the effect I want to keep. Part of my updates are switching to AS3 and that's where my problem comes in. You can't see it on the website I gave you, but in my working file, when I test it (in IE8), everything starts out fine when I first rollover my button, the animation runs through it's cycle and stops. However, if I press down on the mouse button, the animation starts over. The same when I release the mouse button, the animation starts over. I want the animation to run through 1 cycle and stop, then stay stopped until I roll off the button.
I am working on a Flash file and some of the buttons in the document are not working.When I test the movie the hand cursor appears when I hover over the buttons they don't change colour (as specified in the over state) and the actions don't work. Not sure what is going on here as I created other buttons in the same document the same way and they work fine.

I have a site up and running... The youtube api worked fine until yesterday. Videos won't play. Youtube doesn't understand the video id being sent to it. Did google change the API?
View 1 RepliesI have FMS 4 and a videochat app (one-to-one), everything runs smoothly until about 750 users (it means about 1500 connections to fms), then I get a sudden drop in users connected to 300-400, no errors in the fms log and the cpu/memory usage is at about 25% just before this. I'm running Windows 2008 R2 Web (x64) and I've red somewhere that maybe this version of windows has some connection limit that could be the cause, but I've no idea of what could be happening.

This movieclip contains other movieclips that continue their animations. I assumed with one less timeline running the performance would actually increase. There is no other code running, just a movieclip containing other movieclips that suddenly slows when it hits stop().
View 2 RepliesI am currently trying to port a game that I wrote in as2 to use as3. Most of my code is divided into classes but my art and buttons are placed on the time line and divided into different scenes.Now getting access to these objects are no problem. I just wait for a render event and then I get their reference by using getChild from the root object. Now my problem is that when I change scenes the game suddenly speeds up and run really fast for some time and then goes back to normal.My first experience with this problem was when I added a skip button to my game intro.since I didn't stop it but simply chanced scene it went on playing in the "background" as I could still hear the sounds from it. now when I entered the new scene every animation ran twice as fast or even faster and it stopped once my intro finished in the "background" or wherever it was . I solved the problem by simply stopping all animations before changing scene and thought that was the solution, but I soon discovered that, that didn't work at some places.
When I had made the menu scene working and started moving between some other scenes without animations but with lots of movie clips the problem reappeared. I tried to track my problem down to some move clips and I sort of did find some that I could remove to solve my problem but these clips only contained one frame and had text in em so there was no animations to stop. Also the speedup got pretty random, sometimes I got lucky and the speedup didn't happen but most of the times they did.Now my question is why are these speedups happening, and how do I prevent them?I have been thought about copying everything on each scene into a movieclip and then add and remove those clips to stage, and when I change scenes.
We have an AIR application running on an Apple iPad, that occasionally experiences sudden drop in its performance. The frame rate drops from 60fps to 2fps and it never recovers from that. this is only reproducible on iOS 4, but never on iOS 5 - we've checked that on two identical iPads (generation 1)the performance drops occasionally, but always happens when we switch between apps - from our app to another and back very rarely, the performance drop also happens on first start of the app this performance issue does not happen in renderMode=CPU, but this mode doesn't work for us, because the rendering is ugly, especially on rotated bitmaps.
View 1 Repliesim working on a zoom/pan gallery and i have a problem that i can't solve.URL...the pan buttons are not working but the zoom and reset buttons works. im working on movie the image using the mouse now, if you will hold the image and move it it will drag it on stage.the image is a loader the loads and image and placed on screen.there is a mask on top of it and a frame that indicates the size of the gallery.when the user pan the image loader content i want it to stop as soon as it gets to the gallery frame,but i cant seem to find the best way to do it.so basicly when the image is in 100% i dont want the user to be able to drag it but after you zoom the user will be able to drag it but only to the edge of the frame so there wont be any white spaces.i tried a lot of different ways to do it but all of them are complicated and not working the way that i want them to work.
View 2 RepliesI have three buttons and when I click the second one, the first stops working (e.g. no trace event and it won't go back to the frame "tab1") but the third still works. Then when I press the third button both the first and second no longer work. If I take out the gotoAndStop lines, the buttons work fine. The subsequent frames simply have stops on them.

The ad on the bottom right of the screen (the one with lightning flashing) has an invisible button in its Flash file (CS5) linking to [URL]. This file is imported as SWF in Dreamweaver CS5.
The hyperlink works in Firefox, but not in Safari. Maybe it is just my computer.
I am creating a website that has links to flash animations. i have created a folder called flash in the root folder and copied the relevant .fla, .swf and the .mp3 files into that folder. the animations are working fine but the audio isnt.it all works fine in flash itself.

I've created a movieclip of a trashcan, which falls over and 6 items fall out of it. I want each of these items to become a button, which will jump to a different point on the timeline.
The movieclip is all working fine, and the buttons appear to be fine. The problem is when I publish the flash, the movieclip resets each time I hover over one of the buttons, so i get an endless loop of this trashcan falling over and the items falling out.
the buttons within my submenue movie clip don't work. the one's not within a submenu work fine. my code validates and i'm not getting any errors what else i should be checking?

I am having problems with buttons stopping to work after i have added some actionscript elsewhere in my timeline. I have a buttons layer which runs across the entire timeline which consists of a Next, Back, Menu and Support button, which all work fine as long as i dont go through the following script on one of the frames.[code]The Submit button has a different instance name than all my other buttons so i am at a loss as to why this has any effect on them.

I am migrating from AS2 to AS3 and realize the button functionality is totally different. I have a website with buttons that have submenus. I have the first layer of buttons working. They have eventListeners attached that take them to a labeled frame on the timeline. When you get to that labeled frame there is a submenu of buttons there. I tried putting the code for those buttons in the same script on frame 1 but it messes up the movie.
I think it has something to do with the buttons not actually being there on frame 1 when the script is read. I cannot figure out where to put the script for the submenu buttons to make them work. I think I have to put a parent type script in there. Sorry I dont even know what to look up.

I've got a movieclip which contains 4 buttons and 4 labels.
The buttons work but once you've been past a label it won't go back to a previous label so it's just linear.
I'm using the following coding:
Buttons: arrow1, arrow2, arrow3, arrow4. And the labels are the same for each.

I have two buttons at the bottom of my animation which should work all the way through the timeline. They work when you click on the chrome icon in the animation, but when you click on either Firefox or any of the other browser thumbnail buttons, the links stop working and nothing happens when you click them?

This seems like such an easy thing to do but it's driving me crazy. Sorry if this is a simple question. In a site I am building it is necessary to have a large movieclip overlaid over an image gallery. This movieclip controls scrolling so has a rollover listener attached, but of course the gallery pictures also need to have button actions. I cannot get them both working at the same time. How can I make it so that rolling over a movieclip doesn't disable the rollover for any movieclips underneath it? Here is a very simple example of the problem. View 1 RepliesI have 2 main movie clips, one for the menu bar and one for the content, there is then a movie clip within each one of those, one to hold the set of buttons, and one to hold the content movie clips. The menu bar has a control to flip between 2 sets of buttons. the viva content button works fine to begin with, but after the menu bar control is clicked, the content buttons stops working. Code is as Follows: All of the code (bar a few stop() flags on cirtain frames) is located on frame 1 of the root, which is the only frame on the root.

View 9 RepliesI am making a test that when you hit next it goes to a specified frame and if you hit back it goes back to the previous specified frame. The code works when I go through the code once all the way forward and back but once I try to move forward again it skips over all the inbetween pages and ends at the final page. The back button code works fine it is only the NextBt code that isn't working right.
