Professional :: Cannot Retrieve Essential Parameter (Flash Player 10)

Browser IE 6 along with Panda Antivirus
I just reinstalled the entire operating system Microsoft XP last night (package 3 was updated today). The O/S installed Flash 9. But, I went through all of this last November and saved the installation program. I went to a website that said I needed to upgrade to version 10.1 and allowed me to click on it. It would open a page to adobe where I could then choose how to download it (cuz I knew I needed to uninstall the 9 first). But this website automatically downloaded and tried to install the new one before I got the old one uninstalled!
So, I cancelled the installation and then uninstalled the version 9. But, when I tried to go back to adobe to install the version 10, the above message was spit out at me (causing me to "spit bullets" of my own!). I've tried to install it again but when I go to the download page, it just sits there and does nothing. I'm assuming my problem was caused by a "crossover" between the attempted installation of version 10 and the uninstall of version 9. The flashplayer version 10 worked perfectly fine on this same exact computer/system until today!

I am trying to retrieve the ByteArray from a file selected using the FileReference class so that I can pass this to a Web Service call that I am making to Sharepoint.Is there any way I can do this using Flash Player 9 without having to upload to a remote server first and then downloading the file to extract the ByteArray?
This is assuming you can't use Adobe Flash Player 10 and the data property from the FileReference class.

I had a developer who has been working on [URL]. He build it using all flash. I need to make changes on the website, but it seems like he is out of business. They don't answer their phones or emails. The website is hosted on their server, and I don't have the FTP details. I can mirror or copy my site onto my local computer, and re upload the site to a real company. I have access to my domain, so I can just point it to a new server after I have downloaded the website files to my computer.

I am working as a teacher in Singapore and I am currently doing a project for our school. I am using the Adobe CS4 Design Premium. I am using Adobe Flash CS4 for the project I am doing. Adobe Flash CS4 crash often and after the latest crash and when I open up my project i got an error which is "parameter is incorrect" and when I press ctrl+enter, it didn't pulish the file and I have noticed that the swf file that was created before is gone after I press CTRL+enter.

My loader component works when I publish to Flash Player 7 but not when I publish to Flash Player 8, why? The publish setting are for ActionScript 2.0 on both.

I'm working on a project that requires me to communicate with a database. I am using PHP and mySQL with flash on the front end. My problem is that in order get variables back from PHP I have to double them or atleast double the first 2. So this doesn't work:
$loginResult .= " " ;
$loginResult .= "wasSuccessful=" . $wasSuccesful . "&" ;
echo $loginResult ;
But this does:
$loginResult .= " " ;
$loginResult .= "wasSuccessful=" . $wasSuccesful . "&" ;
$loginResult .= "wasSuccessful=" . $wasSuccesful . "&" ;
echo $loginResult ;
And I only get one result.

I'd been using flash cs4 fine for a few weeks before this happened but in the last few days whenever i save a file i'm working on i can no longer preview it (by preview i mean ctrl + enter) my cursor turns to the symbol to show it's working for a few moments but once i move the mouse this goes back to being my normal cursor. Whenever i try and publish a file i get the error "Parameter is incorrect". Before i save the work the file previews fine and even blank documents that i start and immediately save will not allow me to preview or publish them following the save
I'm running w7 64bit on a quad core with 4gb ram. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but this hasn't helped. My flash professional cs4 is also fully updated.I've attached one of my .fla files that to me i can't use properly anymore, it's just a basic animation of squares forming the words 'enemy down' on a black background.

Can we skip an optional parameter and assign value to the parameter after the skipped one?
For example I have a function:

I can easily call the function with a message and a title:
Dialog("HELLO","Intro");
Is there a way to skip the title and just pass in the dialogsize? I've tried it but can't make it work:
Dialog("HELLO",,dialogsize);
Is it possible to skip some optional parameters without using (rest) parameter?

Im kind of a newbie in flash, and i want to fix on some components but when i tried to click Windows>Properties (there's no submenu) , it only shows the properties tab. no filters or parameters tab besides it. how to find them?I tried reading in adobe but it only shows that when you click properties in windows (or ctrl+F3) the 2 automatically shows along with the properties tab.

This has been going on for quite sometime and I've just neverfound any solution. On sites with Flash it asks me to download theplayer. I have the player already, but I download it anyway. Thebox on the Flash site shows that yes, I do have Flash installednow. Then I go back to the site that uses Flash and I'm back to thestart - download Flash Player.I can't understand why if it's on my computer, why the sitekeeps asking me to download it again, yet it shows I do have it onmy computer.I started to use Macromedia Flash 8 Training from the Source,James English, and needed to play Flash in one of the tutorials. Itsent me to the download site. I downloaded, shows the Flashmovement in the sample box that if you have Flash you will see itin the box. I go back to the Flash site and once again - wants meto download Flash.So it's just a continuous circle with no end.

I have Windows 7 home premium, my flash player was working but quit then I got messages on some pages saying I needed to intall the latest version of flash player but when I try I then get a litte box that says when all program are closed then the flash player will automatically install. But I closed all the programs and nothing happens as a matter of fact internect explorer still shows up in the little black box as running. I closed everything out so I don't know what else to do and I need my flash player

So Flash CS5 came with a beta version of Flash Player 10.1.Now that the official release of Flash Player 10.1 is released, how do I update what Flash CS5 uses when I Test Movie?I have so far updated the Flash Player in my browser and my standalone players but I can't seem to figure out how to update the Player that Flash CS5 uses.This wouldn't be so bad if the beta of 10.1 wasn't breaking my project because of bugs.

I have tried countless times to install flashplayer 10 on my mac os x 10.4 (tiger) with no success. I have tried every troubleshooting suggestion, and at this point i am willing to try anything. This is what happens: I go to the adobe site and select the flashplayer 10 for my operating system. The flashplayer icon appears on my desktop and i double click it. I agree to the terms and click install It states that installation is successful. I then try to run a program and it says that i need to install flashplayer 10 in order for it to run, even though it says it has installed.

I've notice all the trouble people are having trying to get updates of FP to cooperate with Vista and IE, but is anyone out
there having trouble getting the installer to work on a mac? After running the uninstaller, which says it was successful, I cannot get ANY version of FP to re-install on my mac. Both Firefox and Safari are showing the plug-in as missing and when prompted to download and install, the installation fails again and again.
The only way I have been able to successfully get flash player working again is to re-install my version of Creative Suite,
which automatically installs FP when you install the Flash application.
