Professional :: Clear Giant Library Paths Folder In It?

Jul 23, 2009

On this page are listed Source, Library, and External Library lists. I am working on a large flash project with hundreds of files. It appears that CS4 caches a copy of my fla's similarily named folders here, EVERY time I publish my files. These lists are now hundreds and hundreds of items long. I want to clear these lists, but the only option I can find is the minus sign.

Is there a way to wipe these lists clean, or, does anyone know an external xml file or such (i have serached), where this data is stored so I can manually remove it.

Professional :: Use A Shared Library - Recompile The Library Folder When Do The Smallest Changes To A Component?

Jul 20, 2010

I am working in two different applications, one to be compiled for desktop use (AIR) and one to be compiled for the web. They are part of the same project and use the same visual components, but they are completely different apps. When a visual component is changed in one application then it should also change in the other one. Is this a good situation to use a shared library fla? I am new to the concept of shared libraries and I am considering the options.

On one had I would not have to update 2 applications everytime I change something, on the other, I would always have to recompile the library folder when I do the smallest changes to a component.

Flex :: Use The Mxmlc Task Of The Ant Tasks With A User-definable List Of Source Path Or Library Paths?

Jun 10, 2010

use the mxmlc task of the Flex Ant tasks with a user-definable list of source path or library paths? The idea is that the user can define an arbitrary list of source paths and/or library (swc) paths into an Ant properties file and the build file takes these values and evaluates them for use in the mxmlc task. Just wondering if there are any tricks (maybe utilizing filtering/string replacing) to get this working?

var ASSET_1:Class = event.target.applicationDomain.getDefinition("ASSE T_1") as Class;
var asset:MovieClip = new ASSET_1() as MovieClip;
addChild(asset);

my problem start when im loading a second swf and than i try to access "ASSET_1" again, and the class doesn't update itself, the content is the same as in the firs one.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Setting Path To Library Folder?

Jun 21, 2010

What I have is some actionscript that displays an image from an external folder. All I have to do is specify the location of the folder, e.g,
Code:
var path = "icons/"

However, this is going to be used as a widget that people can embed on their site, I can specify the full URL to the icons folder and the app works, but to save bandwidth I've imported the images into the flash library under the folder "icons". All I need to do is set the path variable to the icons folder in library and it should work by the loading the images from the library rather than loading the images from my site.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Optimization : Export For AS From Library Vs Load From Folder?

I have seen that exporting with AS3 from library is a lot better than loading a whole music loop. ie: A tenth of the size so would it be best to always do it that way for a game for example.But if I'm building an English teaching app with 100's of words and sentences it's easier to connect up via xml and load from folder. Which would be the best option here?

Professional :: Projector In Linux And Relative Paths

May 17, 2007

I create a projector for Linux by executing a swf file in flash player and chosing "create projector" from the file menu. The initial swf loads external resources (using MovieClip Loader.loadClip for example). In the swf this works fine but in the projector this fails. The projector seems to always execute in the users home directory no matter where it is in the file system, thus to find the external resources the path should be relevant to the users home directory. The problem i now have is that my application will be packaged and distributed on a cd rom. At development time i have no idea of the path to where the cd-rom will be mounted in the end users machine.For what motive does the projector execute in the users home directory and not in its real location?

Professional :: Creating Projectors In Linux And Relative Paths

Apr 17, 2007

I'm having some problems when creating a projector of my movie. The movie dynamically loads other resources using the class MovieClipLoader. In a swf running in the standalone player the path to these resources is relative to the path of the swf. However when I create a projector from the shockwave the path to these resources is absolute and one directory higher than the real path.

For example.

1) I have a main.swf and resource.swf in the same folder /home/myuser
2) main.swf loads resource.swf with the line of actionscript
myMovieClipLoader.LoadClip("resource.swf", someClip);
3) I open the swf in standalone flash player and everything works fine.
4) I create a projector mainProjector and save it in the same directory.
5) The projector cannot find resource.swf unless i put it one folder up in /home in which case all works correctly.
6) I also note that I am able to move mainProjector anywhere in my system since it would seem to always execute in /home regardless of where i move it from which I deduce that the absolute path /home is saved in the projector. This would make it impossible to distribute the projector in a CD-ROM.

My trouble is accessing the instances of the movies to load the loaders in order to view the jpgs called from the folder. I receive an "access of undefined property" message if I type thumbLoad0.addChild(pic1ldr); etc, which you will see at the very bottom.

Actionscript 3 - Loading Giant Images Into Flash - Exceeding The BitmapData Limitations?

Nov 29, 2011

I am trying to let the user import giant images into a flash application. Unfortunately the BitmapData object's dimensions cannot exceed "8,191 pixels in width or height, and the total number of pixels cannot exceed 16,777,215 pixels" (see Reference)

Obviously with FlashPlayer11 these limitations vanish - BUT: As I only get bytes from the FileReference, I need to convert these via Loader.loadBytes(), to get access to the image data. This doesn't seem to work for images exceeding the old BitmapData limitations.
