Professional :: Always Show Motion Paths Option, Where Is It?
Mar 25, 2011No matter how much I look, I can't find that option anywhere in Flash. The manual doesn't say either.

Professional :: Create Motion Tween Option Blocked Out?
Dec 19, 2010Basically, I created an image and converted it to a movie clip. Inside of this movie clip, I create a new layer and I give both layers 70 frames. On the top layer, I then draw a path, right click on the layer, and choose guide. I then drag and drop the bottom layer, which represents my movie clip, under the guide layer. The next step is to right click on the bottom layer, my object layer, and choose create motion tween. This for me however is blocked out, and my only option is to create a classic tween.
Just as a note, I am using CS5 and the tutorial I am following looks to be using an older version. Additionally, they don't right click on the layer and choose motion tween. They select the layer and from like their properties panel, they have a tween option, and from the drop down, they choose motion. I cannot find this option box in my interface however. Is there any logical reason why it wont allow me to do a motion tween?

Oct 19, 2009I have a CS4 document with many objects, motion paths over multiple layers. I want to scale everything, including the motion paths of each object. I've tried to do this by Clicking 'Edit Multiple Frames', then 'Selecting All Frames' and finally scaling everything via the Transform panel. Everything appears to have been scaled apart from the motion paths. Is there a way to do this?

Sep 12, 2011I'm working on a mini-site and there is this opening page with some text bla bla and I need to give the viewer the 'don't show this again' option. I've discovered the components in Flash (yoo-hoo) and so far I've dragged a checkbox to the stage and only been able to change its label in the parameters in components inspector.
The opening page is in scene 1 and I just need the movie to play scene 2 frame 1 if the checkbox is clicked. How do I go about this? I'm very confused with event listeners etc. Could anyone give me a "for dummies" walk through?

May 17, 2007I create a projector for Linux by executing a swf file in flash player and chosing "create projector" from the file menu. The initial swf loads external resources (using MovieClip Loader.loadClip for example). In the swf this works fine but in the projector this fails. The projector seems to always execute in the users home directory no matter where it is in the file system, thus to find the external resources the path should be relevant to the users home directory. The problem i now have is that my application will be packaged and distributed on a cd rom. At development time i have no idea of the path to where the cd-rom will be mounted in the end users machine.For what motive does the projector execute in the users home directory and not in its real location?

The image paths are contained in an xml file that is read from the application .Up to now, I am using relative paths in the xml file. My question is if I can use site root relative paths?Let's say the site's directory is sth like below

I know I can use absolute paths but I prefer to use site root relative paths if that is possible.

Apr 17, 2007I'm having some problems when creating a projector of my movie. The movie dynamically loads other resources using the class MovieClipLoader. In a swf running in the standalone player the path to these resources is relative to the path of the swf. However when I create a projector from the shockwave the path to these resources is absolute and one directory higher than the real path.
For example.
1) I have a main.swf and resource.swf in the same folder /home/myuser
2) main.swf loads resource.swf with the line of actionscript
myMovieClipLoader.LoadClip("resource.swf", someClip);
3) I open the swf in standalone flash player and everything works fine.
4) I create a projector mainProjector and save it in the same directory.
5) The projector cannot find resource.swf unless i put it one folder up in /home in which case all works correctly.
6) I also note that I am able to move mainProjector anywhere in my system since it would seem to always execute in /home regardless of where i move it from which I deduce that the absolute path /home is saved in the projector. This would make it impossible to distribute the projector in a CD-ROM.
Professional :: Clear Giant Library Paths Folder In It?
Jul 23, 2009On this page are listed Source, Library, and External Library lists. I am working on a large flash project with hundreds of files. It appears that CS4 caches a copy of my fla's similarily named folders here, EVERY time I publish my files. These lists are now hundreds and hundreds of items long. I want to clear these lists, but the only option I can find is the minus sign.
Is there a way to wipe these lists clean, or, does anyone know an external xml file or such (i have serached), where this data is stored so I can manually remove it.

Jul 3, 2009So I have recently aquired Flash CS4 and the Quicktime Export is completely different from any version before.I create a lot of 3-4 minute shorts in Flash and have always enjoyed the ease of QT export, but when I export with CS4 I get all kinds of ghosting, even on 5-10 second clips so breaking up the fla file's scenes is no help.After doing a lot of online research I see a few people have similar problems, but no concrete explanations or solutions.Has Flash-to-Quicktime compatability been disabled?I see that the "Quicktime Movie" export options is not available, only the "Quicktime" export, which yields inferior results. Since I export to the web and for dvd I don't want to have to export PNG sequences and rebuild the soundtrack, but is there simply no longer quality compatability between the two programs?Do I need to ditch Flash for Toon Boom?

Apr 7, 2010I've imported a gif file into flash, traced it into the bitmap, made 24 symbols from 25 I wanted, I've distributed them into timeline, made a simple animation from few layers just for fun, when I made a new symbol it was from the first frame, only there was possible to see all graphic and select a new symbol, however now when I click on the first frame the last part of graphics that I want to convert to symbol is grey and I'm not able to select it (picture 4, the small grey stains), however with a selection tool it is possible to change a shape of the "stain". Other miracle I don't understand is the magenta square in left up corner, picture3 (it occurs only from 2nd frame), in library no symbol has this square.
