Oct 13, 2011I have Flash CS5.5 I just uploaded an swf with a few button instances I got the msg that I needed to update my Flash player so I did. After that when I went to test the swf I get no button cursors on any buttons in the swf. The buttons work when I press on them but there is no cursor. If I publish the file locally the cursors are there, I made a few different fla's with test buttons to make sure and they all do the same thing. The publishing settings are set for 10.2 , this seems to have happened once I got the new Flash player 11.3.

Jul 3, 2009So I have recently aquired Flash CS4 and the Quicktime Export is completely different from any version before.I create a lot of 3-4 minute shorts in Flash and have always enjoyed the ease of QT export, but when I export with CS4 I get all kinds of ghosting, even on 5-10 second clips so breaking up the fla file's scenes is no help.After doing a lot of online research I see a few people have similar problems, but no concrete explanations or solutions.Has Flash-to-Quicktime compatability been disabled?I see that the "Quicktime Movie" export options is not available, only the "Quicktime" export, which yields inferior results. Since I export to the web and for dvd I don't want to have to export PNG sequences and rebuild the soundtrack, but is there simply no longer quality compatability between the two programs?Do I need to ditch Flash for Toon Boom?

Feb 16, 2011I have recently upgraded to Flash Player 10.2 (correct version for Windows 7) which will operate satisfactorily on BBC/ITV players in small (part) screen mode. Whenever I click for full screen, the screen goes completely black (blank), though the sound remains. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Flash Player 10.2, twice, but to no avail. Has anyone come across this problem and/or can anyone tell me a solution? All other functions on my laptop (Dell XPS) seem to be fine.

Nov 1, 2011Why is there no 'update' available to take the Flash Pro standalone and debuggers to FP11? There don't seem to be any Adobe authored instructions on doing it manually and I can't find an update. Have just upgraded from Flash Pro CS5 to CS5.5 on WIndows, it's telling me my product is now up-to-date, but the installed players are still on 10.

Apr 7, 2010I've imported a gif file into flash, traced it into the bitmap, made 24 symbols from 25 I wanted, I've distributed them into timeline, made a simple animation from few layers just for fun, when I made a new symbol it was from the first frame, only there was possible to see all graphic and select a new symbol, however now when I click on the first frame the last part of graphics that I want to convert to symbol is grey and I'm not able to select it (picture 4, the small grey stains), however with a selection tool it is possible to change a shape of the "stain". Other miracle I don't understand is the magenta square in left up corner, picture3 (it occurs only from 2nd frame), in library no symbol has this square.

There are 25 files and ideally I want to achieve the 'Lightbox' look so that the browser window dims and the video plays over the top. After looking around I haven't found any easy solutions.What is the best way to achieve this, bearing in mind I shall have all these buttons on a page and want to have the video 'float' on top of the actual site?I'm relatively new to this although a long standing flash user when it comes to animation etc - not great on scripting.

Dec 19, 2010Basically, I created an image and converted it to a movie clip. Inside of this movie clip, I create a new layer and I give both layers 70 frames. On the top layer, I then draw a path, right click on the layer, and choose guide. I then drag and drop the bottom layer, which represents my movie clip, under the guide layer. The next step is to right click on the bottom layer, my object layer, and choose create motion tween. This for me however is blocked out, and my only option is to create a classic tween.
Just as a note, I am using CS5 and the tutorial I am following looks to be using an older version. Additionally, they don't right click on the layer and choose motion tween. They select the layer and from like their properties panel, they have a tween option, and from the drop down, they choose motion. I cannot find this option box in my interface however. Is there any logical reason why it wont allow me to do a motion tween?

Jun 27, 2009I was wondering if I could get your opinion on whether or not I should upgrade from Flash CS3 to CS4. I understand It has 3D and IK capabilities as well as what is supposed to be an improved IDE. But what other good reasons are there? I tend to code all my animations. I probably should take more advantage of the timeline. The work I do tends to be for clients in the music/tv industry, so I'm not doing hardcore database apps, well not yet anyway.

Aug 13, 2010After our upgrade some of our streaming media files no longer stream... I have performed an flcheck on the files in question and they are returning the following error:
FLVCheck version 1.0 - Utility to validate flv and mp4 media files.Copyright (C) 2008 Adobe Systems Incorporated. [URL].. 10-08-13 15:49:07 Error: -31 Bad box hierarchy. Found a track childbox before track. At this point we have a large majority of the files that normally streamed quite normally and fine in 3.0 not streaming at all in 3.5 I hate to back out of the upgrade, but if we can not find a solution to this problem it will have to happen.
