Some of my flash buttons do not work in FlashPlayer 10 but work in 10.1 So I wanted to alert a user to upgrade to the most current flash player 10.1 if he/she has 10 and visits my website. What is the best way to do it? My entire site is done in Flash and I am using AS3.
I cannot get certain game I play under Yahoo. It called "FamilyVill - facebook by Mozilla Firefox. It says, I need to upgrade the Flash Player.I was unable using my Flash Player I had. So,
I have Flash CS5.5 I just uploaded an swf with a few button instances I got the msg that I needed to update my Flash player so I did. After that when I went to test the swf I get no button cursors on any buttons in the swf. The buttons work when I press on them but there is no cursor. If I publish the file locally the cursors are there, I made a few different fla's with test buttons to make sure and they all do the same thing. The publishing settings are set for 10.2 , this seems to have happened once I got the new Flash player 11.3.
I'm looking into implementing the flash player detection kit onto our website. I found a good resource about this but had a question: [URL]. It looks like the flash player detection kit is focused on flash player 8. Are there any differences as to how to handle this situation for flash player 9 or 10, or will the kit work for all? Please note that I am not a flash developer, but am doing research to advise our IT folks as to how we should go about setting up proper flash detection on our site.
We have noticed a possible bug in the Flash Player within Mac's latest OS version Snow Leopard.
When a Browse for file dialog is initiated, upon returning to the browser. It's as if there is a layer above the flash app which stops interaction with the mouse. MouseOver events no longer take place and a click is require to remove this layer. If you move your mouse at all after the click this invisible layer returns limiting interaction.
We have tested this with 2 macs running snow leopard and the latest Flash Player. And also verified it is not an issue on Mac OSX previous to Snow Leopard.
It seems to effect only FF and Safari. Opera functions correctly.. Here is a video we created documenting the problem: [URL]
We have not had any customers complain about this yet. But if it's infact a bug, it's just a matter of time.
I am currently working on a Flash game. In order to ensure the user experience is consistent, I tried to specify the swfVersion and called "swfobject.embedSWF()" using the following code segment.
PD.prototype.loadGame=function(){ var flashvars=this.bootData; var swfVersion = "11.0.1.152";
I have the Adobe CS4 Master Collection and I'm interested in purchasing Flash CS5 by itself, rather than the entire Master Collection. I want to get the upgrade discount, but I was wondering if I can only upgrade from the version I have. (e.g. Master CS4 --> Master CS5 ; Design Premium CS4 --> Design Premium CS5)So, if I buy the upgrade version of Flash CS5, will I be able to install it?
I've created a website for a client and this is my first time. What I was wondering is how can I set up her website so that if someone views her page, but they don't have the latest flash player, then the website would prompt them to go and download it.
When a user does not have a flash player... and enters a flash website...is there a way flash can recognise this and with a click he/she can download the latest flash player from that site?
when we place flash files in our websites, it OFF-COURSE requires flash player on client machines, and prompts to install flash player..is there some php code using which i can check weather there is flash player on the client machine and if not then instead of placingembedding a flash file i place an images over there...cuz in my specific case flash is not that much important... it is just for cosmetics, an animation... which i can replace by a gif or a simple jpeg doesnot matter...
just wonderign whast's the preferred/easier method:1 add the player detection code into flash2 use html editor (like dreamweaver) to insert some javascript on the webpage
I use Red5 server 0.9.1 for live streaming from Adobe Flash player to my RTMP protocol transport.I test it with audio data captured from my microphone using flash application and for now transport recieves and recognizes audio packets. For further audio data listening I need to know what audio codec Flash player uses to send data to the Red5 server.Transport doesn't recieve any metadata packets with detailed information about media codec. All I know for now from "connect" message is that publishing side supports the set of audio and video codecs.
is it possible if i have two versions of a flash file made, to have a redirect or detection that would choose the swf depending on what version of flash player the user has? so if they have flash five they get 5.swf and if they have flash 6 they get 6.swf
I was able to gather info on how to test and display users OS and FP version. However this info is "dormant" it is just being displayed on the screen.Does anyone know how to make an alert message to upgrade to the current Flash Player if a user runs the lower version?
If I have 5 frames and each contanins a MovieClip on stage that includes it's class, listeners, functions etc.If I go from one frame to another, should I clean everything up? I mean remove listeners, remove childs etc etc.Or other MovieClips except those in the current frame are ignored from flash player.
I'm trying to figure out how to get the name of the current file being played using a flash 8 video player (custom). Here's the code im using :
[Code].....
How does flash know which video is currently being played? Basically I want to set it up so that there is a 'activeVideo' varible that updates based on what video is currently being played.
I am having a problem with my flash not showing up in browsers without current flash player. I tried to use the following script but it did not work.I am just trying to make it to where if someone doesn't have flash it takes them to a flattened non flash page.
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE=JavaScript1.1> <!-- var MM_contentVersion = 6;[code].....
Why is there no 'update' available to take the Flash Pro standalone and debuggers to FP11? There don't seem to be any Adobe authored instructions on doing it manually and I can't find an update. Have just upgraded from Flash Pro CS5 to CS5.5 on WIndows, it's telling me my product is now up-to-date, but the installed players are still on 10.
I'm creating a new look for the xspf player: [URL]The playlist highlights the current song being played. I'd like to change the color but can't find where that option is listed in the .flv file, or in the actionscript file.
In IE you can add the version=11.1.0 to the end of the codebase attribute of the object tag. Is there something that will force Firefox to do the same upgrade?
Flash Player Detection Kit ( http:/url......... ). I would like to embed the detection process in just one file. Hence how can I embed a detection code into the flash file, so once its exported to swf, it'll have the detection code already and no additional files are needed?
My loader component works when I publish to Flash Player 7 but not when I publish to Flash Player 8, why? The publish setting are for ActionScript 2.0 on both.
I've just been asked to create a video player which automatically chooses the correct bitrate video to stream by detecting the bandwidth.I have no experience creating a video player so I'm looking for links/resources to do some research on the topic.Has anyone here created a video player in Flash? Would it be better to create in Flash or Flex?Once again, I have no prior knowledge in this type of creation and could use an experienced developer's opinion on what the first step is towards progress.
a client asked me to incorporate a flash version check in a flash application i made for him.it should read something like: "you have flash player 10.x.x.x.x.x.x.x the current version is 10.1.x.x.x.x.x.x"the user veriosn is easy to get with Capabilities.versionbut is there an url on adobe's site to get the string of the current downloadable version from?
