1 - First of all, the contextual help is not working. When I click on a word, for example, textFormat, I get redirected to this page: http:[url].....on this page, i am asked to choose a platform. Any platform I choose, I am redirected to the same page.
2 - secondly, the ugly iFrame takes over almost 25% of my screen. Even Microsoft removed the iFrame from their MSDN. why use IFrame Adobe? they suck.what is going on there?
I have a widget that is displaying an ATOM feed. The widget can be placed on any html page and the content can be changed by changing some parameters within the feed address. What I want to do however is make it so that the content changes based on the content that the page is on. So for example if the page the widget was on displayed content about cars, the widget would load feed content associated with cars. How to determine the context of an html page from within Flash?
The ad on the bottom right of the screen (the one with lightning flashing) has an invisible button in its Flash file (CS5) linking to [URL]. This file is imported as SWF in Dreamweaver CS5.
The hyperlink works in Firefox, but not in Safari. Maybe it is just my computer.
I am creating a website that has links to flash animations. i have created a folder called flash in the root folder and copied the relevant .fla, .swf and the .mp3 files into that folder. the animations are working fine but the audio isnt.it all works fine in flash itself.
I was going to download the trial version of Flash Professional CS5.5 but when I got to the download page it wasn't downloading. The "Download now" button was there, but it was unclickable, when I clicked on it it didn't work, plus it was a little dimmer than I remember it was when I downloaded another trial. I'm also using the latest version of Google Chrome and I tried downloading it on IE and Firefox. So, is there any solution to this?
I've made some flash swf files and I want to use them in my website. I uploaded them and everything works fine, except that the swf files won't play, it just shows a white box instead. I'm using flash 8 and dreamwevaer 8. and since I'm new to this and this is my first time uploading a website
[code]The problem is that the mask isn't applied. Now, if I just add mask_container it adds to the stage just fine. If I mask mask_container with square, it masks just fine. They're both Sprites so both are on the display list.
I have made an animation, when i veiwed it as a preveiw in flash CS4 it works fine.So I published it as both a HTML fie and SWF.The HTML file runs perfectly fine, but the SWF file is missing almost all of the illustrations and the play button at the begining, the sounds all work fine however.. I have no Idea what to do or what I have done wrong and it is driving me crazy as I wanted to post it on the net so my friends can see it....
I have both CS3 and CS4 web preium installed on my system. Ihave started working in CS4 and found that the debug window willnot work. I created a new Flash CS4 fla and added some breakpoints. It seems to run without stopping at the breakpoints and displayingmy trace statements. I have a ticket into support but no one hasanswered it yet. I remember this happening when I installed CS3 webpre but can't remember what I did to fix it. Is a uninstall of allthe products neccessary? Or should I just uninstall Flash.

I'm losing my mind. I have the script uploaded, the swf, flv and the html code and nothing is showing up on the website. I'm sure it's something silly: http://67.199.12.209/newsite/
I want to check to make sure my preloader is working right, so I'm trying to use the Simulate Download function. At any speed, when I start the simulation, it just sits there, and does nothing. No images, no backgound, nothing. Running the program normally does not produce any problems, it's just when I do the simulation. Now, I think it may just be that I have a gigantic file, but I let it sit there for several minutes, and not a single thing happened -- heck, I have the preloader on frame 2, and a trace on frame 1 that just says "test" to see if it's even getting THAT far, and its not.
Has anyone encountered the alpha fade in CS5 not working when fading a graphic out? Example, I want to fade out a graphic symbol from 100% to 0%. When I try to make my fade to 0%, the alpha slider snaps to 100%.
Nothing has changed, no editing was done, and all of a sudden, buttons not working. I trued exporting from Flash again, with the same pblish settings. Bit Action Script seems to give me a message now saying it wont export as a button. Tried AS 2.0 and 3.0, but i made original files in 3.0
I created a flash menu that highlight the current page button reading a variable coming from HTML. I've set a variable in the OBJECT and EMBED tag using the query string syntax, but I get identical results using flashvars. This menu is working perfectly in firefox, but it doesn't in opera or IE 6. In opera it only works if all buttons are vector objects (?!?!?!?):it doen't work if I import a PNG in the buttons. I've put an IF statement (I already tried to use the SWITCH statement with same results) on the very first frame in the menu movie.
Been banging my head against this forever. Running a SWF banner running AS2.0. If you view the banner's page with www before it, it works fine. If you visit the url WITHOUT the www the geturl script doesnt work at all.URL...I've tried changing the allow access setting from domain only to always and I changed the actionscript to be document relative instead of a full link and none of that has fixed the problem.
I downloaded flash to my new computer and videos will work using IE but when I try with firefox it acts as if I don't have it installed (says "download flash here, etc. ) and videos wont play.
I am trying to embed a flv with a custom skin from Flash CS4 on my web page. I have embedded FLV's before using Dreamweaver CS4 by going to Insert/Media/FLV and it worked fine. However, I do not like any of the skins available in DW.
So I created a FLA in Flash with a skin that I prefer. The file previews fine in Flash. I published it and Flash create the flv, swf and skin.swf. I then went to DW and choose Insert/Media/SWF and inserted on the html page. I previewed it in the browser and it worked fine.
I uploaded the .swf, flv, skin, and html to my server. The skin appears but the flv video does not.
Is there somewhere in Flash that I need to specify "Progressive Download" as in DW? Or am I missing a file? Or.....
I am new to flash and working on creating a simple animation. I have the objects ready, but problem is I can't seem to get motion tween working. Following this, I tried a very basic motion tween just increasing the size of text from one frame to another and can't get even this to work. I followed the basic steps, converted the text objects to symbol etcetera. What is seen is for frames 1-9 there is no change and in frame 10 there is sudden change in size. I also notice that there is no 'arrow' observed in the tween as shown in a sample tutorial.
I am preparing a navigation (using panning) movie in Flash. There is very big (6000x4000) image (area photo from top) on the stage and it's position moves once user moves his mouse. Thus, user can navigate on the area. But flash really drives me insane while working on this movie. It usually suddenly stops and quits with error.I'd like to ask what can i do? should i use a different method???It seems, Adobe becomes stupid on large files and there are bugs in somewhere Flash. For example; how can i use a method like Google Maps (it loads an another image when you move another position. Not loads all images together and doesnt consumpt large amount of resources.)?
I am putting together a site which includes a simple Flash movie. The movie is working fine in all browsers on the Mac (though I can't confirm whether or not this includes IE as I wouldn't have it on my system even if it was still supported by Microfsoft!). On our Windows PC, however, although the movie is fine in Firefox, it will not work in IE 8. The strange thing is, I've visited other sites in IE and it does run Flash movies - just not this Flash movie.
I'm using Flash CS3 on a Mac and I've saved the movie in both Flash Player 8 and Flash Player 9 without success. The file uses ActionScript 2.0. I've uninstalled Flash on the PC and then reinstalled the latest versions, again without success.
I am creating a game where you have to use the up and down buttons on the keyboard to avoid movie clips. For some reason it won't register when i press the keys down. Here is my code:
I have a tween in my .fla that isnt working properly. I have 2 buttons, Start and Yoyo. When I click the "Start" button the tween runs. Clicking the "Yoyo" button play the tween in reverse. All fine, but when I press the "Start" button again after I've ran the animation twice the animation always run in yoyo mode. What my problem. Code:
I've made a basic RSS news feed widget with a preloader. When I test the preloader in Flash it works fine, counting to 100% and bringing in the widget proper at the end. This happens both if I test the movie outright or simulate the download. But now I've embedded the preloader in an HTML file using swfobject 2.2, and the browser will only display the first frame of the preloader and go no further, ie it 'freezes' at 0%. When I open the actual preloader .swf file, it's the same - it just stops at 0% even though it worked fine previously when
I exported it from its .fla file.Weird thing is, if I bypass the preloader and embed the widget file in my HTML, it works fine. This is for an assignment however, and I need to build a preloader as part of the criteria. All files (ie the widget .fla and .swf, the html and the preloader .fla and .swf) are in the same folder. Someone advised me when I made a bitmap in the preloader into a movie clip to uncheck the "export in frame 1" box, so I did this. It didn't work. Then someone else advised me to make sure the textbox containing the percentage count was a classic textbox with dynamic text. I did, and it's still not working.
