Aug 27, 20091. How can I change the size of the brush tool? It's all greyed out on every project I start, stuck at the very smallest size (0.10). I'm trying to trace over a photo at the moment, and it's taking FOREVER with the tiny little brush. 2. How do you make the eyedropper tool put your chosen colour into the pencil colour box as opposed to the brush box? Every time I use it, it forces me to use the brush. Which, because of the above problem, is ridiculously inconvenient to draw with in just about every situation.

Apr 8, 2011If I click my paint bucket color chooser, it will give me an eyedropper but it doesn't show the correct colors of what my mouse is hovering over. It's just a completely random jumble of colors whenever I move my mouse.

Oct 16, 2009So I'm dealing with a 15" Glossy Aluminum MacBook Pro and a 24" Dell (2408WFP) Display. The Dell monitor was configured with a color profile to make it -display- colors more realistically. The problem is with the Eye Dropper. It is essentially useless on all but the primary display.
If I take a circle and place the Flash window such that the circle exists halfway between the two monitors (some on the Dell, some on the laptop) and use the Eye Dropper, it gives me two different colors for the SAME FILL. On the primary monitor, it gives me the color I have the fill set to (DD0000), on the Dell, I get another color. Flash still seems to know that the fill is supposed to be DD0000 because using find/replace color, I cannot get Flash to find the color that the eye dropper reports on the Dell display.
Files Not Saving With Deco Tool Or Spray Brush Tool Selected?
May 6, 2009I found that .fla files do not save in Flash CS4 when the Deco tool or Spray Brush tool is selected. Is this a bug? Or is there a workaround to this issue.

Jan 24, 2010This is a very very basic question.I am able to colour and otherwise manipulate elementary vector objects, such as rectangles. Yes, I know how to use the colour panel and the fil land ink pot tool. However, sometimes I can colour a vector shape drawn with the pen tool and sometimes I cannot. It seems completely random.In detail: select keyframe on an empty layer.I make a triangle with the pen tool, and a small circle shows completion. I get a triangle.This is coloured not for the stroke but for the layer. It seems to exist in two densities - a layer coloured line for drawing, a thicker, same-coloured one after selection.However, neither the ink bottle nor the fill tool do anything. I can set the colour in advance, or after the event, through the colour panel or otherwise, nothing. A gradient fill does not even show the guide lines for the fill tool.

Mar 13, 2010Mac OS 10.4.11; Flash CS3.I cannot change the tool any more. It's stuck on the eraser. It doesn't erase anything, but I can't change it to another tool.I uninstalled Flash, preferences and all, and re-installed it, but the problem persists. Interesting is, my customized workspace is still there, even though I had all preferences and anything else that has the name "Flash" deleted.At the same time the computer opens both CD trays when booting up. Never did that before. So I re-installed the OS, but that didn't help either.

Sep 2, 2010for my class i have to draw this fish. in one of the steps it says to draw fins with the pencil. then it says to use the paint bucket tool to color it in. however i cannot color it in. i used all the options too, close small, medium, & large gaps and i still can't color it in. does it have to connect to the start point? i simply attached it to the fish's body. i started over on the 1st part of this 3 time already, and my patience is wearing thin.

Jan 24, 2011I have an issue with my Cintiq not drawing smoothly in Flash. I need to sketch incredibly fast and loose. Flash used to work just fine but now it suddenly began drawing really crummy. I posted some examples of flash as well as Photoshop, Sketchbook Pro, and ToonBoom Animate Pro which is another vector graphics tool. I thought the vector graphics may be the issue but that app seems to handle the drawing excellently (now if only it did the other things Flash can do). Here's some examples of how they're looking. It may be hard to tell in these already loose sketches but the performance drop is really a big difference in responsiveness between Flash vs the other apps here:[code]Does anyone know why my cintiq is causing flash to draw so poorly? Apr 19, 2011I'm having trouble with the Flash CS5 Bone Tool, Everytime I create 2 sets of objects whether its legs or arms, when I duplicate them. break them apart and make a second set of arms and legs, the two characters I assign them to, swap around when I saved them. So one has arms instead of legs and legs instead of arms, but the other character is completely unaffected. I move the bones within the symbols and they return to normal but then it affects the other character and vice versa.

Professional :: Get The Selection Tool To Select The Text?
Jan 23, 2010This is the most frustrating program ever. No where can I find an answer. I've tried everything I've read on how to change text but I can never get the selection tool to select the text. Some say use the T tool but all that does is create a new white box over top of it to type new text in
The layer isn't locked and the closest I can get is a blue box around the button. Well it's not a button and in the library the icon is a movie clip. Its also in my "bitmaps" folder as and image? (tree icon) Does that matter? I'm begining to think this is a whole image?
Professional :: Fill Shape Drawn With Pen Tool?
Jan 31, 2010I draw a shape with the pen tool in Flash CS4. I made sure the shape was closed. But, I cannot fill the shape no matter what. Paint bucket tool does not work. Whatever I do, I get the red diagonal line on the fill color. I can fill a shape with the rectangle or oval tools but not the pen tool.

Feb 23, 2010I am expirimenting with Flash Web Sites, and I would like suggestions as to a starting point for my project, and I am assuming a Flash website is where I would start.Basically, If I were to open up a web page, I would like to see multiple animated objects. For example, if I were to simulate an Emergency Room, I would have an EKG displaying a heart rate, then perhaps see a breathing maching apparatus moving up and down, a Drip bag (sorry, don't know the real term), dripping into a patient's tube. And of course, if I were to roll over an object it would animate, and if clicked on more animation or on to another page.
I tried creating the animated objects in Fireworks, and I thought I could combine various Firworks files into one, but it didn't work (too many frames), either becasue I lack the knowlege of how to do this or simply it cannot be done that way in Fireworks. I had a background with one animated flashing object (that was easy), but combining multiple independent objects, I could not figure it out.
Someone suggested that I would have to use Action Scripts, which made me realize, I don't know the best way to accomplish my example above, and although I know I may be over my head, I would just like to get direction as to where I should begin.
Should it all be in Flash in the first place? To continue on with the example above, after a user clicks on the rollover image, a girney comes rolling in and we are giving choices on a monitor with what our next actions should be, which would take us into another page. (this is just to give you perpective of what I am trying to accomplish).
Should I create independent animated objects (files) in Fireworks, then somehow import them into their specified location in Flash.

Oct 23, 2010I'm new to Adobe Flash CS4, and I was wondering why on earth my pencil tool delays when I draw with it? I will click, draw my line (which will be invisible), then when I let go of my mouse/pen, the line appears. Is it supposed to do that? Is there a way to fix it? I hate it, because I can't see what I'm doing. I downloaded all of the updates, and I have more than enough memory on my computer and my processor is more than fast enough. My paintbrush works fine, it's just the pencil.

Nov 10, 2010I'm creating a Flash animation using the bone tool to animate arms and legs. I created my characters in Illustrator and copy/paste the individual elements (such as the arms/legs/body etc) into Flash, then convert them to symbols. From there, I use Modify>Break Apart to get the symbol into its most primitive state and the use the bone tool to create joints. I did a small bit of animation, and now whenever I make any modifications (like adding more library items or more poses) whenever I save then re-open the file, the bones are still there, but the image is gone. So right now I have what is supposed to be a girl jumping up and down, but her arms and legs have disappeared so she just looks like a floating body. I've re-created this file multiple times, and this continues to happen, but at different points during the animation so I cannot pinpoint one certain thing that could be causing this.

Nov 30, 2010I'm new to Flash and I'm having trouble rotating my mc 360 degrees using the 3D Rotation Tool. I can rotate it 180 degrees, right side coming forward, but when I attempt to rotate it back to its original position, it doesn't continue the rotation in the same direction (right side coming forward). So instead of apearing to rotate completely, it looks like it rotates half way, stops, and rotates back (left side comes forwards). Probably an easy solution, but as I said, I'm new.

I have no problem using it in the timeline and applying a mask (with a brush) to give the effect of the lightning travelling through the air. However when I create a new layer for another bolt of lightning and a new mask to give the appearance of it travelling I cannot make the 2nd mask active as it is greyed out?
