if it's possible to dynamically output a swf from a playing swf? For example, if a user was running a swf movie and clicked a button, a swf could be dynamically published of a particular area within the swf.

outputting a .png sequence, what is the best way? I've had no problem when my animation is in the root timeline. I use the export Movie command and it gives me what I want. But when I have a movie clip, with animation inside of it, and I output a .png sequence in the same way, it doesn't output the sequence of animation from inside the movie ciip, it just gives me a still frame of the symbol on all 35 frames. Is there a better way to export it when the animation is inside of a symbol??

I created a project for internal use that will be saved to an internal server. I would like both MAC and Windows users to be able to access the files for viewing.
Does anyone know how to output to a text file. I've got a ticket machine and when a button is pressed at the final step i want it to output a boolean variable to a text file, preferably to the desktop this is a simple .swf which i have created.

I need the .swf file to placed in a subfolder, i.e. "output/filename.swf" Instead of the default "filename.swf"My problem is, if I edit the output file name field in publish settings in any way, the export file name is now locked, meaning if i have used my new template to create 3 fla files, they will all be named the same thing and replace one another in the output folder i've created. (trying to eliminate the need to open the publish settings menu here)I was hoping there was a variable like ${filename} or something i could use, but cannot find something like that.

View 1 RepliesI have a flash animation, simple, it basically fades between several static images in the timeline. I want that sequence in a video I'm working on, so I output the Flash (CS4) to video. I import that video into my Final Cut (6.0.6) sequence, but when it plays. All the fades are gone, and the images simply cut dryly from one to the next. How can I output this Flash to give me the effects I am programming in there into the video?

The book shows me how to link input text to a variable and output that text to the output window using trace. My question is: how can I display the text that the user input onto the actual movie. For example... if I wanted the visitor to type their name into the input text box and click Submit and then a phrase shows up with their name such as "Hold on Name, my site will be done soon." How do I reference that variable and have it actually display in my movie?

I have a file that dynamically loads JPEGs in two sizes (thumbnails and zoom). There is nothing in the AS concerning sizing, only loading and positioning.The site looked fine and now the pictures all have jagged edges to them (it's stained glass and the leading looks edgy instead of smooth). The photos that are loading look smooth upon uploading.I have them Publishing as, Flash Player 8, AS 2.0, JPEG Quality at 100, only Protect from Import is checked, I'm working in Flash CS4 on a Mac.
View 7 RepliesI added a scroll pane or two via the components inspector for my flash website. I know how to add content to the scroll pane (rename contentpath to that of new movie). My question: Does that mean that scroll panes load dynamically ie. that they are only called for when you press a button to call that specific page which has the scroll pane and does that mean it would save you filesize on your.SWF?

I created a flash application that is dynamically displaying xml feeds from content partners. This flash application has a black background and will be called and displayed from the C# windows application. The issue is sometimes when our application loads the flash swf file, the background color turns white so the text being displayed are not readable anymore since they are white. This intermittent and I am using flash cs 5 actionscript 3. Before I was relying on the stage background but after I saw the issue, I already used a solid background container like (vector, png, gif, or jpeg).

I want to make symbols in the library (linked to classes) and then dynamically create them and manipulate them in the actionscript code. But when I create them in the code, any instance names of sub-symbols cannot be referenced...
The instance name is "instance244" and not "leaf_text" which I set under [properties>instance name]
I maintain a website for a company that creates popUp displays for trade shows. Here is a link [URL]. I am pretty advanced in Flash and AS3, so I'm planning to make a utility for visitors to the website where they can take their picture(logo) and choose a few options and this will generate a render of what their display could look like.
I'm not sure even where to begin with distorting an image to fit a wave style display. We make renders often with maya, but we don't need flash to look THAT good, just an idea so people don't keep making basic mistakes like making their text unreadable. I just want to put flat designs and dynamically slap them on these fabric displays!
