Aug 11, 2009I am new to flash and decided to start out using templates to gain a beter understanding. I grabbed a template - that when I went to save it said it was an MX version - once I began to make changes in it re-save and publish it I noticed that some of the elements were missing. I thought it was something I did so I copied the entire directory and just opened the .fla and saved it without making a change and then published it and the items were gone again. I saved it in the same directory only changing the output .swf file and used all of the same html files

Professional :: Output .png Sequence With A Symbol?
Dec 2, 2010outputting a .png sequence, what is the best way? I've had no problem when my animation is in the root timeline. I use the export Movie command and it gives me what I want. But when I have a movie clip, with animation inside of it, and I output a .png sequence in the same way, it doesn't output the sequence of animation from inside the movie ciip, it just gives me a still frame of the symbol on all 35 frames. Is there a better way to export it when the animation is inside of a symbol??

I need the .swf file to placed in a subfolder, i.e. "output/filename.swf" Instead of the default "filename.swf"My problem is, if I edit the output file name field in publish settings in any way, the export file name is now locked, meaning if i have used my new template to create 3 fla files, they will all be named the same thing and replace one another in the output folder i've created. (trying to eliminate the need to open the publish settings menu here)I was hoping there was a variable like ${filename} or something i could use, but cannot find something like that.

Mar 20, 2010I installed Flash CS4 Professional trial version for school use. It wouldn't install successfully. I deleted the font files the troubleshooting guide said to, tried again, but gave up. (I'm afraid to run regedit and mess up everything else I have loaded.) (I previously had the Fireworks CS4 trial version loaded, then uninstalled it.) My problem is this- I have it running, but it saves files and then they can't be opened, even if I use the save function often- it's worse when I create the file, test the movie and then save.If I try to open it again, it says "cannot open file." Once it opened a copy I had saved, and it appeared blank, even though it was 544 kb file size. I only need it for a few more days, one more assignment and I'm afraid my previous files are corrupt. I have Windows Vista Home Edition.

I import that video into my Final Cut (6.0.6) sequence, but when it plays. All the fades are gone, and the images simply cut dryly from one to the next. I need to simply create "swf" files from a number of videos I have finished in Premiere Pro 5.5.
These videos are 800 x 600 videos that display at "point-of-sale". The spec is swf and not flv.

Jul 22, 2005I'm teaching myself ActionScript and the book I'm reading just got into input text capabilities. The book shows me how to link input text to a variable and output that text to the output window using trace. My question is: how can I display the text that the user input onto the actual movie. For example... if I wanted the visitor to type their name into the input text box and click Submit and then a phrase shows up with their name such as "Hold on Name, my site will be done soon." How do I reference that variable and have it actually display in my movie?
