This is probably an easy question but with the upgrade to CS5 when you go to the color pallette - the color you are using you used to be able to lighten or darken it. Now that is gone. Is there a way to get it back or was it removed?

Is there a way to darken or lighten an image or actually any display object on mouse over and then restore it back on mouse out? I would prefer to use filters if possible just because I am already applying a filter on mouse over and removing it on mouse out. I would then be able to add it to the filters list. If not that's fine. In my code I'm using a Flex 4 Spark Image component.

Basically what I would like to do would be applying a colorTransform-Object (like ColorTransform(1.2,1.2,1.2,1,0,0,0,0))to the uint and get the new value in return, but it will not work. Will I have to convert it into RGB first or am I missing something here?

I was wondering if someone could take a look at it and tell me how I can make the links that aren't relavent to the page dim out a little bit. I will attach the FLA and the SWF. Just click on one of the links in the begining to launch the tween navbar i set up. I just want to be able to make the links that aren't in the middle, be lighter.
I tried putting a semi transparent box in the corners on top of it, but since it's on top, it makes it so I can't click the links.
Photoshop and Fireworks both have some nice filters. When you put one bitmap over the other, the first bitmap can act as filter. For example, the white pixels of the top bitmap lighten the pixels of the bottom bitmap. Is there any way to apply this in as3? What I am trying to accomplish: I have a large single-color bitmapdata object. I want to overlay perlin noise and lighten/darken the single-color bitmap to give it some random/natural look.

I am finding discrepancies between color values when importing Ai files into Flash CS3 (between 2 users)
1. The Ai files are in RGB.
2. There are 2 users, 1 using Leopard and 1 using Tiger.
3. The Tiger users colors change when importing into Flash, the Leopard users preserve the native Ai file's colors.
4. Both Using CS3
5. Both Creative Suite Color settings in Bridge are the same (North American General Purpose 2)
Side note, we are both seeing multiple North American General Purpose 2 options in Creative Suite Color settings in Bridge
I use Flash CS4,Now Flash CS4 occurs problems,when I choose Rectangle Tool,and I choose Paint Bucket Tool in FILL AND STROKE box,I find color panel is not show correctly,the last line 'linear example icons' show not correct,some icons don't show any linears,and some icons are gray box! I try to reinstall Flash CS4,it still show not show correctly! How to restore color panel?
View 5 RepliesI'm looking for a plugin or command so I can swap all the colors in a selected symbol. the find and search thing doesnt quite do it well. It needs to affect anything in a group within that symbol. I was also wondering if there was a way to convert fills back to lines or if there is a plugin for that too. Ineed it for flash pro 8, I know its old.

In InDesign or Illustrator, if I want to change every red object to blue, I can go into the color list, edit the red color to the blue values, and every instance of red in the document reflects the edit. I don't have to select each red element and pick the new blue for stroke and/or fill.

View 3 RepliesOk the issue I'm having with flash is that the windows on the right side of my flash window do not snap up when I collapse a window. I am attaching a screen shot to better explain this issue.As you can see I have the color panel collapsed up, when I expand this panel and it goes down everything shifts down. however when I collapse it back up a huge gap is left behind in CS5.5 as is displayed in screen shot number 2. In CS4 I never had this problem. I could expand and collapse panels as I saw fit with no problems what so ever. Everytime now that I expand a panel and collapse it, the library or other panels do not move up with the collapsing. This causes a workspace issue. and forces me to drag up the library via the black line that is just above it but below the align panel so that I have better access to my library or properties panel for when I'm working. I find this highly annoying and would like it if there could be a fix produced to make it so this collapsing issue can be fixed and I don't have to waste time dragging up the library/properties panel everytime I need to access stuff in my library when I have a huge list of graphics I'm going through.

When I put it on the server, thats a different story. I can tell thats something is there because it loads the background color of the flash file but it doesn't play the FLV.

When I view this movie, the animation leaves trails of color when an object moves across the screen, leaving behind little bits of color too. This does not happen when I export a SWF, but it does happen when I export a Quicktime movie. I export using Quicktime, so I can then I can export it into a flv in Adone media encorder.Why does this happen?

What I am trying to do is to have the button color change to a different color when it is on the page. The color only changes when I roll over it or hit it. Once I am on the page it changes back to the color it is on the up state.

I am assigning a color to its color field like this: lightblue_color.transform.colorTransform.color = 0x65ffff; then i am adding an eventlistener to the button like this: lightblue_color.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, ChangeColor); Then, in the function: public function ChangeColor(evnt:MouseEvent):void {trace(evnt.target.transform.colorTransform.color);} It prints 0. Why is that? Shouldn't it print 0x65ffff or do i need to do some type conversions?
View 2 RepliesI have an issue working with the setStyle() on the modalTransprancyColor property. The module did not run on different variations of hexadecimal code, only one that seems to work is 0xDDDDDD. Anything else, this line of code will crash Flash.

View 5 RepliesApparently, in order to make a bitmap transparent, one has to convert it to 256 colors from 24. I'm not sure if Flash puts it in 24 or 256, but because I can't create a transparency when using Bitmap() in my code, and from what I see displayed on the screen, it would appear that it uses 24 colors. Perhaps this is to keep things light. Nonetheless, is it possible to convert it to 256 colors?
