Is there a way to darken or lighten an image or actually any display object on mouse over and then restore it back on mouse out? I would prefer to use filters if possible just because I am already applying a filter on mouse over and removing it on mouse out. I would then be able to add it to the filters list. If not that's fine. In my code I'm using a Flex 4 Spark Image component.
View 2 RepliesThis is probably an easy question but with the upgrade to CS5 when you go to the color pallette - the color you are using you used to be able to lighten or darken it. Now that is gone. Is there a way to get it back or was it removed?

Basically what I would like to do would be applying a colorTransform-Object (like ColorTransform(1.2,1.2,1.2,1,0,0,0,0))to the uint and get the new value in return, but it will not work. Will I have to convert it into RGB first or am I missing something here?

I was wondering if someone could take a look at it and tell me how I can make the links that aren't relavent to the page dim out a little bit. I will attach the FLA and the SWF. Just click on one of the links in the begining to launch the tween navbar i set up. I just want to be able to make the links that aren't in the middle, be lighter.
I tried putting a semi transparent box in the corners on top of it, but since it's on top, it makes it so I can't click the links.
Photoshop and Fireworks both have some nice filters. When you put one bitmap over the other, the first bitmap can act as filter. For example, the white pixels of the top bitmap lighten the pixels of the bottom bitmap. Is there any way to apply this in as3? What I am trying to accomplish: I have a large single-color bitmapdata object. I want to overlay perlin noise and lighten/darken the single-color bitmap to give it some random/natural look.

i want to rotate 3D an Image called img1 in Flex. I want to rotate it around y axis 180 degree. I can do this by using 3D effect already built in Flex but i want to do a bit more different. I want during rotating, there's another image called img2 appear on back of img1 (in default case, the image appear on the back is img1) and when rotating finish, the image will be img2.

The <mx:Image> tag has a fixed width and height (it's 100% of the tile size--this is in an ItemRenderer). How do I get the image to sit on the bottom of the <mx:Image> tag?
I can;t figure out how to do this. Someone selects and image after calling FileReference.browse(). I take that image and make a thumbnail in flash. Then I upload that image like so:

All this does it upload the original image. How do I change the fileRef to upload the new thumb? I have traced out the size of the "myThumbImage" and it is correct. I have placed it visually on the stage after creating the thumb, and it seems like it works. But when I upload it to an aspx page (that basically just throws it into a folder), it uploads the original larger image.

I'm coding a image viewer application for tablets using Adobe Flex 4.5. Basically, I have a list with a custom item renderer that renders the images in the list. I have set up the image size to be the width/height of the tablet device in portrait (600x1024). This way, only one image can be seen at one time. The problem is that when the device orients to landscape, this design obviously screws up. My question is how can I get it to change the width/height of my images automatically when the orientation changes such that only one image is shown at a time?This is my list:

I am developing a website in flex. And in that, i am trying to set the background image of my application. like this: parentApplication.setStyle("backgroundImage", data.image_src);
From a different location.
My issue is that, the images that i have are small and hence they are being stretched when used as background images. I want to avoid that from happening. How can i do it?
How can I center a loaded photo [lets say 200x300] in an image control [lets say 400x600]? My image control has fixed dimensions while my contents have different dimensions and I want them to get centered automatically.

For the past few hours I have been trying to clone an image in Flex (using the Spark Components, but also trying to convert between Bitmap and BitmapImage).What I am trying exactly is to create a simple painting application which keeps track of each Brush-Stroke. I am loading the data externally from xml and displaying in a datagrid. I have 2 buttons addRow and deleteRow. My datagrid headertext names are "name" "age" "rollno" "image", where image also will be loading externally thru an xml file. now when i am pressing the deleteRow button, whole row is getting deleted but an image icon is still appearing under "image" headertext. It was not an actual image but a blank image icon kind of thing is appearing, how to remove the icon. i want my whole row to be deleted. but its not happening.
View 1 RepliesI have a flex mobile application that I am working on that I am having issues with selecting an image from roll/taking a picture. My application is not tabbed, however one part of it contains a Tabbed View Navigator with tabs across the bottom. Within one of those tabs, I have the ability to upload an image to a webservice that I have created. However, when I select an image or take the picture, it pops back out to the initial splash screen and the application restarts. If I use the component standalone (outside of the tabbed view navigator) it selects the image and uploads without any problem.
