View 6 RepliesI have an image slide across the screen, depending on where the mouse location is. It looks great in the Flash GUI, but once I publish it, the image appears to blink or go jagged as it moves quickly across the screen. I couldn't figure out if this was a monitor issue, browser issue, or something I'm doing in Flash. It appears to show up differently, depending on what computer I'm using. (tested it on a Macbook Pro, and using a custom windows xp machine) I've tried JPEG smoothing options in the image properties, and setting the quality to "best" in the embed code. (I am not loading these images externally, they're in the .fla)Anyone seen this before? Is it because the image is too large and can't refresh fast enough? (Flash is set to 60fps) [URL](Click on "Let me Play" option, then move the mouse side-to-side)
View 1 RepliesI have a file that dynamically loads JPEGs in two sizes (thumbnails and zoom). There is nothing in the AS concerning sizing, only loading and positioning.The site looked fine and now the pictures all have jagged edges to them (it's stained glass and the leading looks edgy instead of smooth). The photos that are loading look smooth upon uploading.I have them Publishing as, Flash Player 8, AS 2.0, JPEG Quality at 100, only Protect from Import is checked, I'm working in Flash CS4 on a Mac.
View 7 RepliesFlash has some serious problems with jagged edges on curved shapes. When adjusting a curve on a shape, flash shows that it is curved and then on releasing the mouse it turns into a sharp edge
View 1 RepliesI have one folder called "Gallery" consists of the following 4 Files/Folder. It works fine on my Virtual Machine. I copied the "Gallery" folder to my PC and tried. but it doesn't show any images on my PC. It doesn't throw any error either. It throws an error if the location of images is not correct. What could be the problem? I tried a lot but fail to understand.
Folder "Gallery" contains the following:
1) Images (Folder)
2) Gallery.swf
3) GalleryMain.as
4) Gallery.xml
I want my page to be covered with thumbnails (not just in a row) then when you click on a thumbnail the image will open up either vertical or horizontal on top of the thumbnails. How can I do this without scripting or does anyone know of a simple way to do this with either Flash or another Product?
View 4 RepliesI'm attempting to create a thing where my thumbnails will scroll across the bottom of the page, like when you put the mouse on the right it scrolls right and visa versa. I found a great tuturial only to realize halfway in that it was done with Flash 8, therefore apparently quite a few things have changed. And this is my first stab at FlashThe first place i noticed is when my motion tween didn't work, so I instead created a 'Classic Tween' finding it had the same affect as 'Motion Tween' in Flash 8, however as I progressed in the tut, I don't think the results were the same.
My images scroll but after creating a _xmouse<40){........prevFrame, there only continue to scroll, the prevFrame command doesn't work!So to my question...does anyone know of a good tut for this type of thing for CS5? OR, is anyone really familiar with both Flash 8 and CS5 and e differences for what I'm attempting to create?
I am currently working on a flash website that has several flv videos on it. Since the website layout has a slight tilt, I have had to transform the videos to slightly tilt as well. The problem that I am having is that when I do this the image becomes very pixelated and the edges of the video become jagged. I have somewhat fixed the edges issue by making a mask around it but i really dont know how to make the resolution better, or what causes it to loose resolution when slightly transformed. The size of the videos is the same as encoded. All I do is tilt them upwards on the right side a bit.
View 1 Repliesi couldn't find a tutorial on this matter so i sorta started making my own hypothesis... what i'm trying to do is: have a gallery of images automatically scrolling horizontally while having the set of images loop. like at[URL]..
here are a couple of my theories and questions for AS commands to have this work:
1) display a range of pixels of an image at certain positions, i.e. if gallery is scrolling to the left, leftmost image when its parts are disappearing out of the viewing area, they become visible at the right.
2) have two instances of each image and when an image is disappearing on left, the second instance of that image comes visible on the right. this I imagine would take up more HD space.
i guess what i was wondering more about is how jager did their gallery where there's only enough images are in a set to be viewed in the viewing area.
I've made a gallery slideshow before but wasn't as intuitive looking back at it now and I want to start fresh on this new project. I would like to convert a jQuery lightbox style gallery into a flash XML based AS3 image gallery with categories. I don't want to code the FLA, I want separate AS files.
This is a school project for my website. I would use jQuery and I have more experience with it but this project needs a flash component. I'm just not sure where to start and looking for some advice on how and where I could find resources. I want it to be minimal as I can make it;
- 8 thumbnails to a "page/section" with more flowed into page 2 or 3 etc. (or a srcoller)
- a few buttons for categories
- images fading in full size with a description when hovered over and a close button
- preloader (simple bar)
Esentially something like this > http:[url].........works which is using http:[url].... for the thumbnails. That might be ambitious but I'd suffice with a simple fade effect.I've downloaded some galleries out there but most of the code is messy or outdated.http:[url]... this is alright, but all the code is done in the FLA. I might break it into AS files but it depends.
I have been working on this banner ad using motion tweens (with scaling) for four objects, three road signs and a background. Sometimes it runs very smoothly, but most of the time, the four objects run in a very jagged way? Does it have to do with four motion tweens happening at the same time?
View 2 RepliesI am facing a curious issue. Generally when we draw lines in Flash either vertically or horizontally or through exact 45 degrees on either of the sides, they come out as straight and anti-aliased. While if they are drawn deviated from either 0 or 45 degrees, they come out as jagged. I want that to be anti-aliased too
View 1 RepliesUsing FLash CS5 and everything looks jagged when I view hte published version of my movie.Back in Flash 4 there was no jagged edges so what have I missed?Here's an image to show you what I mean.See the Black outline of the movieclip is flipping out. It's a normal vector based movieclip, no image or nothing.
View 1 RepliesIs there any built in functionality to convert an ArrayCollection to a jagged string array? I have an Arraycollection of objectproxies that I get from a SOAP webservice (asp.net datatable) that I modify and want to send back.
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to create some MovieClips with a glow effect when you rollOver and the glow effect dissapearing on rollOut. But when the rollOut is finished my background movieclip to which I apply the filter (a simple 20 x 20 vector circle) all of a sudden appears jagged, when before rollOver/rollOut it appeared smooth as it should. What could be going on here? I'm pretty new to AS3, thus the example isn't working properly yet. For instance:
* when you roll over the item the first time it immediately shows the end phase of the glow in stead of animating. I thought I'ld circumvent this with Tween.rewind() in the constructor, but that didn't do the trick.
* also I'm not sure whether the addEventListener for TweenEvent.MOTION_CHANGE is placed in the correct spot. I tried putting it in the constructor, but that resulted in the event being recieved continuously by _onMotionChange.
But the most important part is the jagged circle after the glow filter has dissapeared. This is what I have so far (abbreviated example):
[CODE]....
I'm trying to figure out how I would make a line grow or fade in basically, such as in a line graph how it shows increasing growth as the viewer watches the line move up and down and more up etc.
View 1 Repliesi have a movieclip and inside this movieclip i have a textfield the text field has anti-alias for animation and characters embedded. the movieclip undergo - scaleX,scaleY & alpha changes. is this the cause of the jagged/pixelate texts or am i missing something important to make it look great?
View 7 RepliesMain requirements for that gallery are:- must be updated via xml file- must be auto resize- thumbnails must be floating like in example- also must have preloaderhat's allIt is my first serious project with flash and it will be good to get any tips how to start doing all of that.Especially I am interested how it is possible to make such floating thumbnails which are also preloading.
View 2 RepliesWhat i need is to be able to pull images from a folder, and just be able to dump images into a folder and not have to keep updating an xml or fla file.
View 1 Replieswhat i'm looking for is to create a gallery of images. there are 12 images in total with 3 showing. I want to add a forwards/next button that will cause the gallery of images to scroll across, with a smooth action, when the cursor hovers over the fowards button. I don't want the next images to show 1 by 1 but the gallery to gradually scroll arcoss(like all of the images are on one long reel being pulled from the left)
View 2 RepliesI created a flash image gallery for my site but the images look pixelated. I really don't like the way they look. Im fairly new to web design and very new to flash.
View 3 RepliesI am wondering if someone knows how to create a picture gallery where the images are online (web hosting folder). I need a tutorial to add the script to my existing swf.
View 1 RepliesI am putting together a gallery that will show about 60 images. basic fade-in transitions between the images. I need to animate the company logo (very basic) and show some text below each image), becasue of this I dont know if any off the shelf xml based gallery will work? As usually you just define the image name/path and run the swf. This is for a presentation and not web so maybe not possible to be Xml based. Is there anything that is out there that could work for this and if not i suppose I am doing everything in flash but fear this as thimeline will be so long and a bit of a nightmare to do, if I have to do this in flash, I would have each image occupy about 20 frames 1-9 it will fade in, frame 10- a 10 sec pause, and frame 11-20 a fade out, that will still give me a timeline of 1200 approx.
View 1 RepliesThere is a site with an image gallery that uses Adobe Flash.Is there a way I could capture the images? ( Apart from print screen)Softwares like Orbit do well with .flv videos, but don't work with images.Is there something that will help me getting a direct path to the images?
View 3 RepliesIs there any ready built images gallery as shown in this link? [URL]. If I were to build it by retrieve from database contains links to images and display on each containers, would TileList be useful as I'm will be using it for displaying Classifieds images.
View 2 RepliesI modified some code for loading xml images into a gallery that I found somewhere, but I have no idea how to go about preloading the images. Everything works fine, I would just like to know the best way of going about doing this. Here's the code I got:
[Code]...
I'm worried about images stacking on top of each other. The thumbnails are loaded using a for loop through XML, (10 thumbnails). And by using event.target.name when you click on any thumbnail it calls a function (showPicture).
[Code]....
I have an image gallery into which I would like to load both image files and swf files. The content is loaded through an XML file. The images are loaded correctly, but the swf-file isn't. I get this error:
TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert flash.display::MovieClip@3ffc2e1 to flash.display.Bitmap.
at player_sheit_fla::MainTimeline/addSlideContent()
at player_sheit_fla::MainTimeline/fadeSlideIn()
since Flash can't load an swf as bitmap. It all boils down to this function:
ActionScript Code:
function addSlideContent():void {
// empty current slide and delete previous bitmap
[Code].....
How can I load both swf and image files into my gallery?
I am building a gallery and my client asked me if i can do it with links. Something like this: [URL] and so on. I am reading the images from an xml
View 6 RepliesI have a problem with an xml photo gallery nothing special about the code just a simple xml loader routine, everything works fine on my local machine but testing on the server only displays some of the images?
