Professional :: Why The Gallery Doesn't Display Images On PC

I have one folder called "Gallery" consists of the following 4 Files/Folder. It works fine on my Virtual Machine. I copied the "Gallery" folder to my PC and tried. but it doesn't show any images on my PC. It doesn't throw any error either. It throws an error if the location of images is not correct. What could be the problem? I tried a lot but fail to understand.
I have build a gallery but its very simple. It takes images from xml file. I have attached all files in zip. First when I press next button it goes to next image but with no effect. It just displays next image. I want to incorporate a sliding effect when the image is changed to another. And second I want to use autoplay feature. I recently created a visual quiz app which asks a question and then gives 4 image answers.
The problem that I'm having is that the images don't shrink the image into their quadrants, but rather, zooms in on the top left corner of the image.
Can anyone tell me what I have to change in the following code to make the images display at a set width (so that they fit in the quadrants proportionally).
Here is what the SWF looks like now. As you can see the images become distorted because they are being stretched. What should happen is that the images be displayed at a fixed width and variable height. [URL]

I found a papervision class on the net. When I instantiate it and load xml into the contructor parameters of the class it works fine except that the flipping images doesn't display properly- its masks the middle and cuts off the sides. But when I load images from library into the contructor parameters it displays a different size, almost the size of the original, but not quite -weird.
I created a scrollpane in as3 and set its source to another object, which contains several rows of icons. The scrollbar in the scrollpane is getting the right length, which means the object was loaded as expected, but the contant is not showing correctly.
I created a Thumbnail class for this file to load and make each individual thumbnail. Here is my code, the red text is where each thumbnail is loaded:

I made a swf file and embed it in my website.It displays properly in the mozilla firefox but not in my google chrome.Is this problem related to the browser or the way that I embeded my swf file.
I want my page to be covered with thumbnails (not just in a row) then when you click on a thumbnail the image will open up either vertical or horizontal on top of the thumbnails. How can I do this without scripting or does anyone know of a simple way to do this with either Flash or another Product?
I'm attempting to create a thing where my thumbnails will scroll across the bottom of the page, like when you put the mouse on the right it scrolls right and visa versa. I found a great tuturial only to realize halfway in that it was done with Flash 8, therefore apparently quite a few things have changed. And this is my first stab at FlashThe first place i noticed is when my motion tween didn't work, so I instead created a 'Classic Tween' finding it had the same affect as 'Motion Tween' in Flash 8, however as I progressed in the tut, I don't think the results were the same.
My images scroll but after creating a _xmouse<40){........prevFrame, there only continue to scroll, the prevFrame command doesn't work!So to my question...does anyone know of a good tut for this type of thing for CS5? OR, is anyone really familiar with both Flash 8 and CS5 and e differences for what I'm attempting to create?
i am trying to add extra images to the photo gallery attached. I would have thought it is easy and it seems so. I add an extra image to the gallery. I publish it. The html file shows the extra image in the gallery but the swf doesnt. driving me crazy, cant work it out?
I have a big problem - I decided to make a website using flash as I am good with photoshop and thought it would be fairly easy to construct in flash using tutorials. All went well except now the website is published, weird things happen. The homepage works fine but when you click on "portfolio" some of the buttons don't appear and when you try the buttons, some images don't appear. Occasionally some of the buttons take you to the wrong place also. When I test the movie in flash, everything works fine so I can't work it out. I am a complete novice so advice will have to be spelt out in black and white.
I apologize in advance -- I am new to Flash. I am triyng to build a Flash object to display images from a catalog. I would like to build something like this. I really just need some advice/direction to get started.Once I know the basics/techniques to be used, I can go from there. Is this some thing that can be done solely in Flash or will I need to use some combination of Flash & Javascript. Right now, I am thinking I can use the loader class to achieve something like this.
what methods and parameters of the urlloader class we have to use to display images in a flash player if possible..also movie should update everytime a new image is added to a database or filethe images can either be in a file system or in a sql database (if possible)does flash comes with an object of this type or we have to create it
i couldn't find a tutorial on this matter so i sorta started making my own hypothesis... what i'm trying to do is: have a gallery of images automatically scrolling horizontally while having the set of images loop. like at[URL]..
here are a couple of my theories and questions for AS commands to have this work:
1) display a range of pixels of an image at certain positions, i.e. if gallery is scrolling to the left, leftmost image when its parts are disappearing out of the viewing area, they become visible at the right.
2) have two instances of each image and when an image is disappearing on left, the second instance of that image comes visible on the right. this I imagine would take up more HD space.
i guess what i was wondering more about is how jager did their gallery where there's only enough images are in a set to be viewed in the viewing area.
I have a flash file sitting inside of a web page in our company domain. There is another server (used to store images) that is part of the domain but is not running any web services (for security reasons). A folder on the images server is however shared in such a way that any site on the web server can display images from the images server as long as the user is plugged into the domain. For example, both I and my boss can pull up a web site on the web server and see all the information, but only he can see the images because I have Vista Basic and no domain support. This is done via "<img src='\serverNamedirectory.'/>"
That's ok, but on this particular instance I don't want to display the image on the webpage, I want it in a SWF on the page. However the SWF can't seem to load the images even though the page it's sitting in could. I've tried tons of variations of URLRequests and Loaders, most resulting in security errors. Since most of the online discussions about these errors revolve around cross-domain access, I can't seem to find any tech support for our specific situation.
I've made a gallery slideshow before but wasn't as intuitive looking back at it now and I want to start fresh on this new project. I would like to convert a jQuery lightbox style gallery into a flash XML based AS3 image gallery with categories. I don't want to code the FLA, I want separate AS files.
This is a school project for my website. I would use jQuery and I have more experience with it but this project needs a flash component. I'm just not sure where to start and looking for some advice on how and where I could find resources. I want it to be minimal as I can make it;
- 8 thumbnails to a "page/section" with more flowed into page 2 or 3 etc. (or a srcoller)
- a few buttons for categories
- images fading in full size with a description when hovered over and a close button
- preloader (simple bar)
Esentially something like this > http:[url].........works which is using http:[url].... for the thumbnails. That might be ambitious but I'd suffice with a simple fade effect.I've downloaded some galleries out there but most of the code is messy or outdated.http:[url]... this is alright, but all the code is done in the FLA. I might break it into AS files but it depends.
I followed someone's tutorial on CWD.dk and made this image gallery scroller. I have attached the file downloaded from the website. Basically, when you click the buttons, it will scroll the images. However, it doesn't ease in or out, and I would like to know how to make it ease in and out. I've been trying for the last 2 hours with no success. I have completed the xml thumbnail gallery and it works standalone. I want to load it into another swf which is part of my main movie. The only problem is that when i do this the XML doesnt seem to load. If anyone could shed some light on this, that would be great. U can dl the FLA's below. Completed Gal here. The problem is if I press the buttons in a sequential manner..the data loads fine..but If i pres it randomly choosing a button..the data doesnt loads according to the button..The problem lies with the Variable "p". Here is the Actions on Frame-1 :
I upgraded from an old version to CS5.5 and AS 3.0 and none of my AS works. I can't even do something simple, like display text in a dynamic box. What I'm trying to do:[code]This displays NOTHING. A trace shows the current frame, but I can't get it to display in the box.I also notice that the trace never shows frame 1. I have gotoAndPlay(1); on my last frame.

I'm trying to create a five image gallery, and when I try to add the load request for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th images I get an error message that says it doesn't recognize that request: see code below:

i want to make another mod to kirupa's xml gallery.i also noticed that on a mac when it is on the server, the image doesn't fade in unless it has already been viewed.i'm trying to make the images slide in from the right when the next button is clicked.it would be awesome if the previous one moved out of the way to the left as the next one slid in but i have no idea how to achieve that.

This is a situation: i have a index.swf in which i have holder movieclip in which i load gallery.swf (where i load pictures in it's holder mc). The thing is i used _root in gallery.swf so when i publish it separately it works, but it doesn't work within index.swf. I suppose there is a scope problem where _root adresses _root timeline of index.swf instead of gallery.swf when index.swf is published and gallery.swf loaded inside. I tried to solve this by putting: Code: this._lockroot=true; inside of gallery.swf but now my Flash 8 player just freezes when index.swf is published and gallery.swf loaded into it but i have no idea why? What would be other solution for this problem?
I am creating a site witch has a gallery page. I first used an instance of the UILoader to load a separate galley swf into the main site. Now while this was fine for all things local, the minute I uploaded to the production site for testing I am left with a site where only some text line of the gallery's xml file. So I tried enclosing the gallery into the main site and am left with the same thing. I've check all the paths to the thumbnails and large files as well as the large and relevant sound files.
The Menu.swf unloads, and the test.swf also loads, I know this because the test.swf plays a sound an I can hear the sounds but the test.swf doesn't display on the screen... I get no errors.
I'm working on a product display for a lure maker that I'm hoping to get working something similar to some of the Scene 7 works. I'm using BassProShops as an example. Basically it's a small image gallery that would have 1 to 4 thumbnails, displaying the image in an image area. Then having the ability to zoom in on the product image for some sharp detail. What I'm building so far loads external images that are 1400x1400 and resizing to 350x350. I'll use a mask or something to create the magnifying effect. Where I'm at now is that I feel like I might be going about it in a bulky manner with the way I'm loading the images and my ProgressEvent only works on the initial image load. I'm looking for some input from more experienced coders before I paint myself into a corner Here's the code I have so far... Thoughts?
