Why is it that all other applications in the Suite can be hidden to the dock via the Apple standard red button, but Flash and Lightroom cannot. They just quit. Why would you program it for all other applications in the Suite, but not these two?

I was going to download the trial version of Flash Professional CS5.5 but when I got to the download page it wasn't downloading. The "Download now" button was there, but it was unclickable, when I clicked on it it didn't work, plus it was a little dimmer than I remember it was when I downloaded another trial. I'm also using the latest version of Google Chrome and I tried downloading it on IE and Firefox.So, is there any solution to this?
View 4 RepliesWhen a user rolls over an HTML button, I need that button to tell Flash to go to frame 2. I looked at the Flash Help for the addCallback() and followed their example to use javascript to influence Flash without any success even though I followed it to the letter.
To be clear, I know javascript well enough to copy and paste it correctly and to read what it might supposed to be doing (usualy).

This time however, the nav button that is used to bring up html pages within my site got out of whack. I have checked (and changed) the flash/menu_v8.swf?button=3 relative to the index page I'm trying to link to, but to no avail. I have also gone into Flash and can change the h-link of the TEXT on the button to the corresponding page, but it makes no changes whatsoever.

View 2 RepliesI have a borderless video that is going to be on a website I'm designing. I can add the play, pause, stop buttons but I need to add an exit video button. The video is going to auto play when a user goes to the website. The video is placed directly over a form, so I need the user to be able to click the exit video and have the video disappear allowing users to use the text fields in the form. View 3 RepliesI have just installed Flash Professional CS5. I have set up a short 3 second Flash .swf file and incorporated it into my website using Dreamweaver CS5. The Flash file has a background sound file and the Flash program loops. I see how to set up a mute button and have done that, yet when the file loops the sound begins again. I have looked through the many tutorials and forums and simply cannot find out how to set up the button so that when the "Mute Sound" button is clicked the sound stops even after the file loops. I am guessing it might have something to do with setting up my timelines, yet I have played around with that and did not get anywhere.
View 4 RepliesOne of my buttons, flash will not read it as a button when I publish it and run the swf file. The cursor stays as a arrow meaning its not a button in the swf file. Inside of the fla file it is a button with a hit. There is no movie or tweening or anything like that. I think it's not reading it as a button because Flash is placing the hit behind the actual button. Inside of my button there is only 1 layer. When placing the hit usually it covers the button. But in this case, the hit is going behind the image. I think this is why when its ran, its not reading it as a button.
I even removed the AS3 code from the button to see if it was a coding error. Rather if theres code in there or not the swf should still read it as a button and the cursor should change to a hand by default. Because of this, I tried to create another button in another area on the stage to see if it's just that one area thats having that problem. I created a new button from scratch, placed a hit, no AS3 coding added, and it works. The swf reads it as a button. But with that button, I added a AS3 CODE to go to an external website and now Flash isnt reading the AS3 code for that button. Heres the code:

But when my images appears, I have other buttons (whose layers are on top of this current button layer) also appear on top of my images. I tried merging all my buttons onto one layer, but that doesn't seem to work either.

When I click on a button and choose Behaviours I get a warning that it only works with AS2.
I change the project to AS2 and then half of my actionscript stops working.
I created a rectangle and converted it to a button symbol. I double clicked it to get to the button timeline and added text and varied the rectangle colors for the different hit states. I ran the file and it's doing what I expected.
Now I want to duplicate that button several times where each one has different text on it. But when I change the text in one iof the duplicates, they all change, including the original.
What do I need to do to allow me to change the text? I can change other propertites without althering the other buttons but not the text.

I am currently working on a site where a button in the flash takes you to an external link. The user would like the browser back button, when you are on the external link, to take them to the page on the flash that was last viewed without restarting the flash. Is this possible?
