I am having issues with my movie not loading in Safari.
I am publishing the movie from Flash CS4 and using all the code it spits out in the html page. It works fine in IE and FF but not Safari.
Is there something I have to change or add into the code within the html page??

I made a simple slideshow type viewer for a client. It works wonderfully for me in OS X using Safari and Firefox, and it works in Firefox under windows as well. Linky Now, the guy writing the backend stuff for the site uses windows, and noticed that when you navigate *away* from the page, and then go back, the images don't load. In IE 7. He sent me a screenshot using some http debugger.
Screenshot So, we figured we'd use a "cache buster" in IE. I made the flash append "?<RANDOM_STRING>" when requesting the images, but it doesn't seem to do the job. The HTTP debugger shows the request occurs, but Flash never actually receives the image. Here's the entirety of the class "SlideshowImage" which is responsible for loading the images ( and other junk, like photo credits, etc ). Hopefully somebody with more AS3 experience can hit me with the proverbial clue stick. I've been writing AS2 for a long time, but AS3 for only the last 6 months or so. I've never seen these problems in AS2, so I assume I'm doing something wrong in AS3.
A final note. I know that the XML file which describes the slideshow is being correctly loaded, since I can see the correct copy overlay and other factors. It just appears that the images never come down the pipe.

On firefox, all items usually would load up all the time but there are occassions where it would only load 3 out of 8 or some anywhere before it's suppose to finish. If you keep hitting refresh on the link i posted, you'll see. its even worse on safari since it would seldom load the whole thing... never had a problem with IE though.

A strange issue in Safari (both Mac and PC) versions... coming to the site with a clean cache and the Flash file, loads in cut in half, and hugging the top of the browser. A refresh fixes the issue!

If been trying to refurbish my website using solely OSMF but, the sound part gives problems in various browsers. It works in IE6 and FireFox but, it doesnt in Chrome and Safari. I have a problem with the way my page is displayed in Safari:
I have a few DIVs, some overlapping others. One of these DIV is in the background (lowest Z-index) and contains an SWF. (a kind of liquid picture/video in Flash)
My problem is : In all common browsers it's fine, the website is displayed correctly, with DIVs overlapping or being overlapped according to their Z-Index. Though, in Safari, the DIV containing the SWF always show on the foreground and hide all other DIVs, whatever the Z-index attributed to all the DIVs.
I am trying to add a video to this site: http:[url]....The video plays in Firefox, IE, and Google Chrome.It does not play for me in Safari of Opera. When I preview the page from Dreamweaver in Safari or Opera, it works. When I load it up on the server, and check it on the web in those browsers, it doesn't.
View 5 RepliesI've made an application and placed it on a server. In testing it works fine in both chrome and firefox but I get an error in safari. The error is #1010 a term is undefined and has no property. It points to a place in the code that is reading some data recieved from an external json data. I've used some trace statments and the data is not undefined but back in safari it fails.

View 7 RepliesI have a flash gallery I created using Flash CS4 and Actionscript 3. It plays perfectly in FireFox, but in IE and Safari it just shows me a blank space on the page where the gallery should be. As a test I uninstalled Flash Player, and FireFox and Safari showed me the message that a newer version of Flash was needed along with a link to get it, but IE showed nothing. Now that Flash is re-installed, only FireFox actually loads/plays the gallery. With IE it doesn' tmatter if I use the 32-bit or 64-bit, or if compatibility mode is on or off. I tried republishing with Flash 9 set instead of Flash 10, but that made no difference. It fails with the HTML file generated out of Flash, as well as the page I created in Dreamweaver and used the Insert Media command to insert the .swf:

when i view my flash file in firefox 3.5.5, it compresses my flash movie smaller and quality looks pretty bad. In Safari, it is fine. I tried publishing as "exact pixels" instead of match movie and set scale at exact fit.
update: now firefox is cropping my flash movie....but safari looks fine
I have a html page that has a flash movie embedded in it. In the movie, when a button is pressed, it passes variables to a PHP script, processes them and then sends the variables back to the movie (all behind the scenes)... It works perfectly in Firefox, but in Safari 2.0.4 (for mac) nothing happens when I press that button...looking at the 'Activity' window in Safari, it shows the url to the php file and beside it '0 bytes of ?' indicating that it can't locate or process the page properly.
Has anyone else encountered this?
The strangest thing is that I just tested it on my older mac laptop which has Safari 1.3.2 on it, and it worked fine! ... I've never had problems with php on the 2.0.4 version of Safari before (being run on an intel iMac) ... and I tried it on another iMac in here, and it didn't work on it either!... so it must just be that version of Safari for some reason..? and I also tested this file on a PC with both IE and Firefox and it worked fine..so I'm confused as to what could be going on.
Is there a major issue with rendering Flash in Safari?
I have search for a way to display, for example, Adobe Home Page in Safari and be able to see all the menus "on top" and have not found a solution.
I have tried setting wmode to either opaque or transparent but no change.
I am using the latest download of Safari (vs 4.0.4[531.21.10]) on Windows 7.

I'm making a flash website that sits on a div. However, I have a jQuery fucntion that changes the size of this div, which I call within my flash movie. Then, the flash movie adapts to the div change, for bigger or smaller pages. It is all working just fine on Firefox and IE. Not so lucky in Safari. After many tests, it seems the simple act of changing the div height, in which my flash movie sits, makes the movie flicker.

So now I want to achieve exactly the same thing in AS3, I have been looking at examples on the web but am getting all sorts of errors and basically don't know what I am doing. Got that done.Then call and replace the first movie clip with another, got that done too.This is for a menu i am making, I am not too great in action script. I am working in AS2.Problem is after I call the second external movie clip into the main SWF, it all stops working.Is there a way I set this up that no matter what it keeps loading and unloading the external movie clips? There is a root movie that acts as a control panel for user input. 1. It loads then parses some xml to determine how the interface should look (what images, radio buttons, etc. to display) 2. Then it loads and positions items on the stage ( rbs, thumbnails) 3. It loads child swfs
When the issue occurs step 2 is only partially completed and step 3 doesn't occur. No message about script error appears.
