Professional :: Possible To Control Timing Of Audio Placed Within Symbol Movie Clips?

Feb 18, 2011

I have created a series of Symbol MovieClips which I load through ActionScript on the first frame of the main timeline so that they play sequentially. I dynamically create each MovieClip, add it to the Stage, and setup an enter frame listener.On the last frame I stop and remove the clip, and repeat the process with the next clip.These animations play sequentially as intended. However each clip has an audio sequence on its timeline.These play simultaneously at the start of the main timeline.I've tried each of the Sound Sync options on the first frames within the Symbol clips.With the Stop setting the audio doesn't play, but Start, Event, and Stream all cause the audio to play at the beginning of the main timeline which seems to contradict the documentation I've looked at.

Is there a straight-forward way to sync the audio to the Symbol clips, or does the audio need to placed on the main timeline?I'd rather not do this as it is much easier to sync up the audio for each symbol clip with the animation when I can work with the smaller audio snippets and not have to test the whole movie.

Professional :: External SWF Or Internal Symbol For Movie Clips?

Oct 7, 2010

I'm creating a Flash interactive thing which is basically a couple minute animated intro and then a menu of products to choose from. You click on one of 12 products and get a little animation about how it works. So my question is where to put these 12 product animations? I was originally thinking to just put them in the main timeline and just jump to them with labels but I'm thinking that the timeline is going to get too hairy, it's already got a lot. Now I'm wondering what the best approach should be. Should I produce 12 external SWF movies to be loaded when clicked on, or should I just make each product animation an internal movie symbol and just add an instance from the library to my main timeline? Or is there any other approach that might be better for some reason?

Professional :: Timing To Start Audio / Video In Flash

Mar 11, 2011

I have a Flash animation that starts with an audio clip imported. When that's done it goes to a video. After that another audio clip plays, but I can't get it to start when it's supposed to. It keeps coming in too early even though its keyframe is after the movie ends. In fact I had to move the audio's keyframe about 1500 frames past where it should be to get it to come in at the right time. My Flash movie is 24 FPS. The .mov file being referenced in the FLVPlayback is 23.98 FPS. What's going on here?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Flash Timing Movie Clips At Different Time Intervals?

May 3, 2011

It feels like it's been ages since I've worked in Action Script (dissapointingly the demand just isn't there for me) and I'm really, really rusty.

I'm working on a Flash banner, and one particular part has 5 movie clips. I want each movie clip to fire off at separate intervals(i set it at 300 miliseconds per clip)

Here is the code I have written that works for two clips:

Code:
//Animate each icon
var timer:Timer = new Timer(300, 1);//create the timer
timer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, doNextTween);
timer.start();

ActionScript 2.0 :: Function For _root - Control A Movie Clips Current Frame By Another Movie Clips?

I'd like to control a movie clips current frame by another movie clips action script.I realise the following controls the outside (root) frame time line:

on(release){
_root.gotoAndStop(1);
}

but I'm not sure how to apply that to my other movie clip. I'm guessing it would be something like this:

on(release){
_*movie_clip_name*.gotoAndStop(1);

Audio Timing In .fla Files

Jun 27, 2009

I'm making a flash movie and I have all of the audio timed out right in the .fla, but when i hold Ctrl+Enter to play the .swf, the audio is not timed right. I haven't expoted the video yet so I'm hoping that the file will be fine when exported.In the file attached, (it is unfinished) the audio, "You talkin' to me?" should happen after the camera has already finished panning up to the man's head. Instead, the audio plays while the camera is panning upward.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Setup A Click And Drag To Control A Movie Symbol?

Jul 21, 2011

Basically what I have is a 31 frame, frame-by-frame animation that plays(no stop() command at all currently) in a continuous loop on one "page" of a flash presentation. What I need to be able to do is set it up in actionscript 2.0 so that when a viewer has his mouse over the movie symbol and then clicks and drags to the right, the movie plays forward, click and drag to the left and it plays in reverse, and on release stops on the frame it is currently on.

I need it set up so that if someone is dragging it to the right and reverses direction, the frames are played in reverse from that point (frame) and vice versa and releasing the mouse button stops the movie on that frame: e.g. if the viewer is dragging right up to frame 20 then starts dragging to the left the animation will play backwards from frame 20 to frame 1 so long as the mouse button is held down) I can't use playback buttons, I have to set this up this way for a specific reason for a work project. I'm not even sure if I explained it correctly If I can set this up on the frame the symbol is nested in, fine. If it has to be done within the symbols' animation, fine. Doesn't matter really, the end result is what counts.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Control Different Levels And Movie Clips?

Jun 30, 2009

I want to control elements and movie clips from deep within an another movie clip

for example I have a button inside of a movie clip So

_root > Symbol 1 > Symbol 2 ( Symbol 2 is the button )

Now I have another MC on the main stage that has an animated MC in it.

So

_root > Symbol 3 > Symbol 4 ( Symbol 4 is the animated item )

So now lets say I want to be able to click ( or rollover ) on the button ( Symbol 2 ) for the animation to go to a specific frame and play

I have this all the time where I am struggling to control stuff deep within from other stuff deep within an MC.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Control Multiple Movie Clips Simultaneously?

Mar 15, 2010

Here's the issue. I have a movie with 8 different movie clips on the stage. Each one is just a simple animation with a button. When the movie runs, all the movie clips run their respective animations until they hit a stop action in the middle. The stop basically seperates the intro from the outro of each clip. Once the user clicks a button, I want all of the other movie clips to start playing again and then load the next movie, depending on which button was clicked. So the button AS, in plain english speak, would be something like this:onRelease, make movie clips a, b and c play then load movieXYZ.swf to main stage.

But when I test the movie, or export it to any movie format, it will play an instance of a movie clip symbol that I used within the animation.
