I am looking for the best registration/forms tutorial for Flash CS4. Is there a good one out there that would walk me through all the key steps for someone who is fairly new to flash? I have done some HTML forms work with php in the past but really like the look and flexibility of flash.

View 2 RepliesI've created a product registration form for my website and the basics of it work fine, ie when I click submit the info successfully gets e-mailed to me. I'd like to expand the functionality of it, however. As is, I get an e-mail regardless if any of the fields are filled in or not. I'd like for users to be directed to an error page when the e-mail field is blank and a thank you page otherwise. How would I do this? I imagine it can either be done directly in flash or would the php instruct the browser to navigate to the error or thank you page? Key is I don't want the form to be submitted if the email is blank.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a tutorial or working example involving a email flash form, which uses:a scrollpane - which houses an indefinite number of checkboxesan input field for emailn input field for name...and the form uses PHP.[Brief overview - I have a page that provides a listing of companies. There are several hundred, so I placed them in a scrollpane. Each company has a checkbox next to it. When a user selects a company - they can select more than one - types in there name and email address, the form should send the information associated with the checked boxes to the designated email address.]I'm able to put all the elements together, and get them working fine. However, I'm stuck at the form level - trying to retrieve the checkbox information, as well as determining which checkboxes are checked. I'm using this as a base example to work n particular, I'm having a problem calling a variable from the 1st frame of the swf from within the form movieclip, so that I can load that and pass it to email.
View 2 RepliesI have a form with 5 mandatory fields and 2 of which are combo boxes.My problem is I can't get the required fields to work, the form works perfectly fine and goes to the form success frame and sends out all the information in the fields (even if they are left blank)I am on AS2.0. The registration form is a movie clip itself with the send button on the same level and not inside the movie clip.

The class_id is a foreign key to the student table and it's invisible in the combobox. i want when the students registers from his selection on the combobox to write in the database the corresponding class_id.

I have followed both of pom's tutorials that involve experiments with perspective in Flash, but I have encountered a problem while attempting to duplicate a movie clip symbol in the second tutorial ([URL]). I have a single instance of the "ball" movie clip symbol appearing at random positions. However, I cannot seem to successfully duplicate the symbol instance at random positions using the loop that pom provided:

so encore has the 'export to flash" feature. it seems like it might be a good way to go for me becasue it prodcces a flash player with all my chapter markers in place. i have a couple questions though
1. it is limited to 1280X720 - i would have to do custom flash development to overcome that?
2. how is the resulting videos that are called by the flashdvd.swf served? i mean if i have 1-2GB of video clips are they served one at a time when called by the player?
3. is there any way to get the flashdvd.swf to fallback on iOS and maintain all the funtionality ?

I have a movie clip on my stage with various elements in it. When I edit this movie clip all the coordinates for the various elements have really random values because the registration point is not set to the top left corner of the symbol but I can't find any way to change the registration point - nothing I've found online so far works.

View 1 RepliesThis is giving me such a headache.I have a movie clip and it has a centered registration point but the transformation point is in the top left corner. I want both to be in the center of the MC. I want a little circle with cross-hairs in t in the middle of my MC, if at all possible without moving my MC. But I cannot get that damn cross-hair to budge from the top left corner! When I go into the info window and change the X-Y values of the transformation point, the whole MC just moves to a new position. The infuriating things is, I've done it before but I just can't seem to work out what I did. Please don't tell me to drag the registration point in free transform mode. I can do that, but I cannot drag the transformation point in the same way.
View 9 RepliesI have an object which is converted into a symbol. I double click on this object/symbol and it goes into its own seperate timeline. For my coding purposes I would like to know how to change the registration point of the symbol so it moves along or is addjustable on a symbols its own timeline so a can create animations on an objects timeline without screwing up my codeing because objects don't register when their moved away from the registration point the compiler still thinks that the registration point is where it was previously.

you chose what corner will be used as center of coordinates for this object. Now onice you create object is there way to change this registration point e.g. i created it in center now i want to to be in upper left corner?

I've been looking for a JSFL command that might do this, but haven't come across anything even remotely similar to what I'm trying to achieve. Perhaps there is another solution besides JSFL that someone might know of.Question: Is there a way that I can select multiple symbols (either in a single frame or across multiple frames) and apply a scale transform that will adhere to each symbol's registration point?
Scenario:In an animation sequence, a movieclip of a tall rectangle is tweened on the timeline using "classic" tween. There are 20keyframes, where the mc changes position and rotation.In a duplicate of that animation sequence, I want to change the height of all instances of the mc in the animation, but keep the position and rotation. The rectangle should stay a rectangle, only shorter.I go to a keyframe, select the mc, and enter the desired scale percentage for the height in the transform pane. Then I repeat this for the other 19 keyframes. Imagine the pain and suffering I go through when this is done for several sequences!
Ideally,I would want to use the "edit multiple frame" mode in the timeline, select all instances of the mc across all 20 keyframes, and apply the height transform to all mcs via JSFL or dark magic.Flash's default behavior transforms multiple objects as a group,so not only will it squash and shear the different mc instances(creating diamonds),it will also shrink the distances between the different positions(changing the path of the tweens).I'm looking for a way to apply the transform so that each instance scales to their own registration point,preserving their position and respective of their rotation.

View 1 Repliesoriginal: I really just need to figure out how to center the pictures. here is what I did I have modified the tutorial that I finished to have a bigger stage for bigger pictures. Everything is working properly but the pictures are displayed on the left side, I want to have them centered in the stage for the images, after clicking on the thumbnails, plus my images are different sizes as well. ranging from 200x410 to 744x410 but all are the same height of 410. i will post up what I am talking about at the end. If I have a form with 12 text input fields on one page and on another for a different reason I have 4 text input fields how do I keep this information form the 4 from being passed to my php script?
